I'd really like to change all of the colours on my AOKP ROM. I can change a few things like the nav bar and the lock screen text, but the remaining 'holo' coloured items really stick out. It would be great if there was some way to change everything to just the one colour.

Hi folks - My Dad - all 75 years of techno geek in him - just got a Xoom.
He loves Android (on his EVO & trying to learn the Xoom) but his eyes can't seem to see the status bar down @ the bottom clearly.
It looks dim. Is there way to adjust the brightness for the status bar (particularly the lower right one)?
Thanks.
I don't think there is. It just uses the standard screen brightness setting so its the full screen or nothing I think.

Thanks for the input.
From the lack of responses, I tend to think this isn't a huge issue for people. LOL!
We did adjust the brightness for the screen & it didn't seem to make much of an incremental difference.
Try one of the themes that brighten it up.
Touchwiz is brighter, I'm sure the red theme is brighter as well.

Hmmm...will look for it. Thanks for the idea.
If you're going to use a theme, you will have to convince him to let you root his XOOM.
If you want to go that route and don't feel like installing a completely new theme, I can make a brighter version of the stock control buttons for you. The clock font brightness is not editable at this time since hnytool hasn't been updated for 3.2, however.
As far as colors go, green is easiest and brightest seen by the human eye. Try the green theme.

I'm running aopk on my n7 and under ROM settings, nav bar, there is a option to customize it... putting 5 icons... but I really don't like the phone Ui... if I change the DPI to 160 I just can't see the extra buttons...
Someone has any ideas?
I saw a video on yt, a guy with a HP touchpad applying a cm7 theme made for the nook color..... can't find the video...
Thanks

Using CM nightly (18th).
I have a pattern lock and removed the side widgets with Lockscreen Policy. Last thing to go would be the circular dots at the bottom that are part of the Google Now swipe.
On a separate note, is there a reason you can pull down the clock to expose a blank area underneath?
Sorry for poorly notated screenshot:

The space is for when you have multiple clocks for different time zones.
if u fill ur lock screen with widgets, u press that to bring up the unlock settings.
You could use an app like widgetlocker or go locker. They'd probably have the option to hide the google now circle.
I miss the simple ICS/ 4.1.2 lockscreen

I don't suppose anyone who has these apps can confirm this? I guess I'll try Go Locker, but the other one is a paid app...

WidgetLocker does one of two things. It either leaves the Home, Back, and Recents buttons there, or, if you enable root helper, it will replace those with the GNow Circle. No option for a black bar.

You could always make the Google now circle blend into the lock screen if you're using paranoidandroid like so.

In hybrid settings, set the launcher's nav bar color and transparency to match the lock screen color n transparency. It takes some tweaking to get the right color but you'll find it soon enough.
I'm using #55000000 but you may need to tweak it a bit depending on your wallpaper
Or you could take a screenshot of your lock screen, find the color code for it using the color picker in Photoshop and then enter that value in the launchers nav bar color picker.

Not sure I'm seeing what you're seeing. The dotted circle is still in your screenshot.
Yea but its not within a black bar. The wallpaper extends to the bottom. And its just one possible way to mask it and make it look nice since I'm not too interested in getting rid of it completely anyway.

Ya... I too want to remove that upward pointed triangle from the lock screen as it is giving me issues.. It is even present behind my Home button and disables its functionality even after unlocking the screen.
Somebody help please
I'm talking 'bout the glow color of the navigation bar, which was blue in the Galaxy Nexus when it was running 4.0, but it became white with JB.
In the Nexus 7, the nav bar has always been white, as a step forward in the android desing on JB. But I HATE the white nav bar so I am trying to found a way to return to a blue nav bar.
I know softkeys, but it only allows changing the icons of the nav bar, not the color of the glow when you press a button.
I hope I made my point well, greetings from spain
You can customize all the navbar colors with the paranoid android rom.

Or most any ROMs... You can change the glow color, button color, number of buttons, order of buttons, color of the actual bar, add icons, add shortcuts, change icons, etc.
Stock = stock
Custom = custom

The softkeys flashable zips in the apps and themes subforum do that. I get a blue glow on mine. I chose the blue reflection ones but perhaps not all glow but this one does.
Edit: Exact name: "Stock ICS Blue Reflect Softkeys Universal VRTheme"

Either you search for flashable zips somewhere in this forum or install ParanoidAndroid ROM (i'm using it) and you can change many things like status bar to navigation bar and you can even make custom colors for individual apps like for example Youtube where everything is white except the navigation bar controls (back, home etc.) are red and it looks really cool.
And you can even make some apps to show in tablet mode.

In case you missed it, the softkeys theme thread mentions a pay app SoftkeysZ that does this sort of thing.

i'd like to change a few icon colors in my systemui.apk and was wondering what would be the easiest program to adjust or change the colors? zooming in with ms paint isn't exactly what i call efficient. obviously, this is my first time doing something like this.
