Hey guys I was just wondering if my n7 case which has a magnetic lid which automatically powers on my nexus after opening it is actusllty bad for the nexus in any way? Do the magnets mess with the hardware at all?

Considering the functionality is built into the 7, and the magnet is very weak, no it won't cause any harm. I've been using one of these cases since I got my 7. With no lockscreen enabled it makes things very convenient, just open and go!

Asus built a magnet inside the tab. Magnets only really affected the old platter hard drives. No worries.

this is right, one end of the magnet is build into the device, as long as you buy the accessories from appropriate vendors, then there is nothing to worry about.

Just randomally goes to lock screen? Even when using the device I have my screen timeout for two mins but this random ally happens sometime twice less then a minute.

I believe I found out what's causing it.. lol I am wearing a magnetic ring and when I touch near the bottom left on the back it turns the display off weird?

So apparently its supossed to do that with magnets like in a case but works with my ring kinda cool.

Had the same problem. Used to fold the front of my case behind the tablet to use Kindle app for example then realised the magnets were causing the screen to lock. Was driving me nuts for a while and I was all ready to return the tablet to the store. All's well now though :good:
Anyone else have this? I am finding if I apply pressure just below the camera and above the samsung logo I get a creak noise. Seems to happen when I'm holding it a certain way.
No. Tight fit.
The home button is sticky & fidgety.
Nope, not at all.

I had the back cover on and off a few times now and its not doing it anymore so I guess it was just not fitted right.
Thanks for your input
Whenever it is unlocked and I place it on top of a card with a magnetic strip. Does this mean that it can use wireless charging?

Dafuq ??
Your phone has a magnetic sensor in it, it's attracting the contents of the strip ... That sound/act doesn't means it is gonna charge wirelessly....
That's all I know....
Well idk how the wireless charging works, I thought maybe it had something to do with a magnetic field. What does the magnetic sensor do?

It's probably an NFC capable card. Your phone is trying to read it. It's happened to me before with a CAC...

Now that makes sense I was trying to figure out why something with such a small magnetic field would get a reaction from the device where the magnets from my name tag doesn't when my phones in my shirt pocket....

As some of you noticed the lg g2 came with a free quick window case. Which I personally really really like. Just when the flap goes over the screen. It never stays on the screen... Its always raised. So its not stable and it can turn on the device by accident. Just wanted to know if anyone is having same issues or have a solution ( if you know what I am on about anyway)

same issue here
Mine didn't come with the case...

No free case here. But then again att likes to repackage their phones and take out all the extra goodies a phone would normally come with.

You have to break it in. It takes about a week or so.

After about a month, it's still a bit raised for me. I was hoping it'd be magnetized or weighted.
It's nice to see i'm not the only one with this problem, even though it is a pretty minor issue to me anyway, it is REALLY annoying :/
you would of though they would have put a magnet on it or something.
Yes it will work after you open and closer it about 100 times. I also layed a book on mine eventually it works as intended

No problem with the finger, but the pen doesn't register.

why did it work before?
Maybe you need a specific kind? I tried one from a palm before...didn't work.
Tho I see no point in it. Ha...a pun! LOL. But really....I'd prefer my fingers any day.
Just my preference.

Needs to be a capacitive stylus. Not all are - Samsung Note styli are not capacitive for example
Sent from my Nexus 7 using xda app-developers app
I use a capacitive stylus from MoKo and it works very well on my N7.
