You are missing the recovery software or it is damaged. Best bet is to repartition and install a reasonably current recovery.
THE FOLLOWING WILL COMPLETELY WIPE YOUR DEVICE!!
First, download this file to your pc:
dafexe_399.zip - 5.17 MB
Unzip it into an empty folder.
Using something like notepad++ not Windows notepad) edit the FLASH.CFG file. Change the lines that show system and cache to what your rom recommends (you may wish to make system bigger in case your device has bad blocks.)
Do NOT change the line that has recovery on it!
Connect your device to the PC, place it in the tri color bootloader and run daf.exe
If all goes well you should have a clean, repartitioned device with a working recovery when finished.

We're you able to run daf.exe? Any errors?
Did you modify the flash.cfg file? If yes, what does it look like?

HELP!

So im no good on this whole switching your HD2 to android. and awhile back i tried and never made it. i was wondering if someone could give me a step by step instructions on what to do, like how to flash a new Windows mobile on my phone, then to put what theme or what android version to put on there. if anyone could give me any help it would be much appreciated. I will take your opinion on your preference of a good windows mobile mod to flash and same with an android. Please help! Thanks so much.
Bump. I would really like some help.
Go to this thread read the 1st page then download the Rom after you unzip the file open it and read the Tutorial. It is a step by step guide you cant go wrong
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=926507
Yay! thank you!
Ok so, ive been going through the steps to get android and everything flashed onto m phone, but one problem occured. After i got RUU flashed, i cant get MAGDLR to work it. when i boot up the Rom update Utility it simply says " error [208]: file open" update utility cannot open the requested file. any help?
BTW i did everything step by step, First i did the HSPL, then Radio ROM version 3.27.4.3, then i try to flash RUU but it just gives me the error.
ignore my post just above this. im lost, ive gone back and tried re flashing the radio to see if that caused the problem, but it didnt change anything. Any ideas?
If you have an hd2 then you should not have to changeover radio it should already be 2.15.50.14 which should be good enough
Sent from my Nexus One using XDA App
ok but why cant i get RUU to flash? or is that the radio?
i know im a newbie.
What version of magldr do you have
Sent from my Nexus One using XDA App
i downloaded the newest 1.13.
but when i run the RUU.exe (rom update utility.exe) from the folder it gives me an error.
did you unzip the file before running it
Sent from my Nexus One using XDA App
Yes i did. I unzipped it to my desktop.
Did your phone connect to the pc first before running magldr
Sent from my HTC HD2 blue topia using XDA app
yes. at least i believe so when i first tried it. ive gone through several attempts.
Try it this way power off your phone and hold down the volume down button and the power button to turn it back on it should bring you to a multi color screen then it should say USB at the bottom if the pc sees it if so run magldr
Sent from my HTC HD2 blue topia using XDA app
shoud i skip trying to use the rom utility update?
Also maybe my download is missing something, but there is not actual exe or program called Magdlr. its just the folder called magldr
this is really getting ridiculous, like ive followed the step by step instructions. its the RUU.exe that wont run.
BUmp for help.
Erase and redownload
Sent from my HTC HD2 blue topia using XDA app
ive done that about 16 times now. ive re downloaded the CORE cell, and the DFT LEO MAGLDR 113 files. ive been at this for like 6 hours straight and there has been no improvement. nothing has changed.

Cwm problems ,

When I try to boot into recovery. It say : error error : invalid boot image header. And there is no more. Clock work recovery? It was there before. What could be the problem? Please help. Any information you need I can provide . Any thing helps thank you

Hi,
ROM MANAGER only works with clk.
If you used it with magldr it is probably messed up.
You need to re-install magldr to get back to normal.

Just install a MAGLDR Rom and you will be fine... no need to do anything else.
ROMs in ROM manager are only compatible with cLK for now. The reason you got error when booting is because MAGLDR Roms use different /boot partition file system than cLK.
If you need do a backup from CWM and after flashing the new ROM go advance restore and select only data.img
I am trying to say your data weren't lost and you will not loose them after flashing new rom

That sucks! But on a good note, when you do re-install your rom and boot for the first time, sign in after touching that little green friend and google will re-install all your apps (without data thou) as long as you had auto sync on, that is,,,,

I don't USE MAGLDR and i don't know if this will work but you can try to delete all lines from CWM flash.cfg except the one where is recovery-raw.img and try flashing CWM from pc.
possible with a fix, or I have to reinstall/reformat everything?

wait what is all this that you just told me hmmmmm im lost im using hd2 toolkit does it have that function i partioned the 150 mb required from the rom through the toolkit what else is there to partition ? im lost
First of all there are two versions. clk magldr. Make sure you're using the right one. Also make sure you have a recovery of at least 150 you can make bigger but not to exceed 200 I think. also do a factory reset, wipe cache and dalvik cache and them install rom. its not mandatory to have an external partition for this rom to work. You can also go to post #2 of the thread for more exact details

already tried doing all that step by step just how they asked me to install it but it installed like i said but once it loads and enters the main page there are errors after errors after errors its like the rom is corrupt or something. so tell me what else i can do?
Try to download the file again and reinstall or try to task 29 which wipes everything off your phone but not the sd card. Then install a fresh copy of magldr and repartition your phone again and try to install again. This is for installing the magldr version. I'm not experienced with clk. I just finished installing with no problem on magldr

HyperDroid 3.0 is only for cLK, it doesnt support MAGLDR (yet).
@OP : If you're trying to install it on MAGLDR I doubt it will work, even if it booted sure you will get force closes and whatnot.
Check the thread they just posted the magldr version. I'm running it right now that's why i'm asking to make sure you got the right version

Are you installing any data as soon a you flash the rom from recovery? Don't install anything other than the rom and see if it works

Oh yes under the section of the phone partition make sure you select the cache size of 5. It sets both of then at the same time

[Q] ICS Issues (NexusHD2-IceCreamSandwich_Beta5 by tytung)

Using MAGLDR v1.13 & CMR 3.1. I've tried to flash - NexusHD2-IceCreamSandwich_Beta2 by tytung. I've wiped dalvik cache, wiped my data, & did a clean wipe of my SD card. I reboot into CWR in install & my phone keeps restarting. It never makes it to the boot animation screen. I've also had issues with a few other ROMs- But I'd rather focus on getting ICS on my HD2.
I'm using T-Moblie (US) HTC HD2
& I've followed the steps in the thread. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1354267
I'm still fairly new to XDA & just looking for some help to see if I've over looked something or need to go in a different direction.
Thanks to anyone that can help.
12-11-11 Flashed NexusHD2-IceCreamSandwich_Beta5
1) Phone freeze/runs slow.
2) Occasionally restarts (often during sms)
3) Also G+ app wont update - Error Package file was not signed correctly
Any ideas?
Did you make sure to flash the correct system partition sizes? That was a problem I had one time, I forgot to do that step.
I've tried. I'm not sure how to check that I did it correctly. What steps/tools do I used to get that done?

Firstly, why are you using beta2 when latest is beta5? Not saying thats is the problem, just that don't see why you would want to use outdated version.
Second, Get HD2 Toolkit, it has easy to use tools to do everything you need to prep HD2 for flashing.
If you already have magldr just use the repartition tool after entering USB Flasher mode in magldr and then re-partition to needed sizes then flash rom using cwm.
I'm still downloading beta5 & before I try this again with the latest version I want to get it done correctly. Is the repartition tool within my already installed magldr or is it from the hd2 tool kit. I ask this because I'd need some help using the toolkit. I've tried to use the partitioning feature on there and that's where things would've went wrong.
Thanks

Hello and welcome.
You need to provide more details to get any help.
No. 1: did you try to download the file (rom) again and retry?
If not try it!
otherwise...
What type hd2 do you have? tmous or eu?
What rom were you trying to install?
What method did you use to install?
Are you using clk, magldr or just stock win mobile?
anything else you think is relevent...

So magldr was installed?
And recovery? So have you tried to install from recovery, (install zip from sdcard option)?
You can also try and install stock win mobile 6.5 for your device by putting the LEOIMG.nbh file on sdcard and holding volume down button while booting. This will help to determine if you have a hardware issue.
Edit: apologies, I misread your second post, task 29 failed !
Seems like the toolkit is not working. Can you get to magldr screen? ( press and hold power button). If so just do a full wipe and install the ROM zip from magldr recovery.
