Ah... good by for now folks. Had the Dell Streak for two year and loved every minute of it.
Wished Dell had marketed it like Samsung did their Galaxy Note II which I just got,
I had more people than I could count ask me "what in the heck do you have" with the Streak.
It could have been Dell who had the phablet niche had they done it right along with a better support.
Bet the Dell bigwigs are banging their heads on the wall this past year seeing how they BLEW it.
Too bad... now I'm on the Samsung bandwagon.
You'll see me on the Note II forums.
So what are you doing with it now....

Well she got the iPhone 5 and gave back the Dell Streak.
I put it up for sale on Craigslist for $60 and was amazed how many people emailed me about it... must have been at least 15.
The Dell Streak was more popular than I though. I sure did like it the two years I had it...
I'm not surprised it's still pretty popular. Prices on ebay are still around £100 for a good one, considering I bought a good second hand one for £150 two years ago now. And it's not been wanting for performance, I know the camera is really poor these days and perhaps the lack of ICS (well at the moment hopefully!) is starting to make the Streak show it's age but the only reason why I'm considering actually getting a new device is that my Streak is getting a bit unreliable and that's probably more due to me messing about with it than anything else.
yeah i couldn't agree more !

I don't know about the camera being so poor, I'm a professional photographer and I got one of my better shots with that dell streak to this day on a flight to Las Vegas from Seattle 3 years ago. It was early and the sun was just rising as we flew by Mt Rainier... and my Nikons were in my bag above me in the overhead bin... so not to lose time I took some pics with the Dell Streak 5. Did a little post photoshop work... Gotta admit this is a GREAT photo!

Most people fail to realize that more megapixels do not necessarily make for better pictures. With a PHD camera like what smartphones carry, it doesn't matter how many megapixels the thing has because the lens is simply too small to admit enough light to take advantage of the extra megapixels. Obviously, cameras with interchangeable lenses are a different story.
The picture William58 posted is proof positive that great pictures can come out of the Streak's camera. I actually doubt a 13MP smartphone camera could do much better.

Hi everyone, I am new to the t mobile community and I was looking on good ol ebay for a G1 without a contract. At that point my search threw back this in the query. I was quick to call b.s and all that so ofcourse i didn't buy it, but I just want to ask you all what in the hell is this. Has anyone out there bought it or had any experience with this?

Just some cheap "iClone" phones from China. Check your local craigslist- people cant seem to get rid of them fast enough once they get duped into buying them
Alright, In the first link the bid has ended so i cannot help you there. NOW In the second, It's a piece of hardware that may be fake, For Example, My cousin bought a phone like that about 2 months back from ofcourse good ol' Ebay, And what was it, A Japanese phone that looked just like the Iphone, It streamed TV had an antenna for when we made the switch on cable and antennas would be dead. It had like an 8 megapixel camera, Beautiful sweet deal for a smackin' $200 bucks. SO he went ahead and bought it. When it arrived it was the phone, or more exact the model, Which weight no more than a stack of papers, It didnt turn on, NOTHING. He decided to use a flathead screw driver to open it up, and what he found was that the phone had nothing inside, Literally, Nothing but sand, To make the phone weigh. So from me to you. Don't buy it. Skip it. Go to T-mobile and get the G1. lol But that was just 1 experience never know.
damn what a shame. Hopefully the people who are winning these ebay auctions don't get a box of sand shipped to them as well. I just did some reseach on meizu, they seem to be the company that is producing this stuff. Maybe its good enough for china, but I sure as hell am not taking a chance with it.
Those phones are real (not sure about the eBay one, but Deal Extreme and others sell the iClones) but they are very low quality. They also sell a ton of Nokia clones.

Those phone don't even look like the G1. DA.
Lol... that second one has got SIX speakers!! Must be goood... hehe
Haha
I bought one of these a couple mounths ago they are useless without the stylus and no where near as good as any phone made recently but if all you got is 150 and u need it unlocked then this pos is for you lol...
Edit: this thing does internet movies music and my favorite was the web cam mine had it does a few things but it doesn't do any all that good
These phones do have uses. A lot of these Chinese knock-offs are bought by people needing unlocked phones and multi-SIM capability. In Europe, for example, there are many more carriers over much shorter distances than in the US. Also, the practice (law?) there is caller-pays-all. Incoming calls don't cost anything. Outgoing calls cost your rate plus the rate of the person you're calling, making having multiple SIM cards for different countries more economical. Many of these phones have gimmick features like TV reception, but all come with clunky, proprietary operating systems. Finding good, useful applications will be a constant source of frustration for someone looking for a way to complement his 10mm CZ "diamond" stud in his ear.

Thank GOOD I Bought The Tab...
After I Read This Bull**** I Would Sell The Ipad 2 Anyways...
But Please Be Fair To Apple...
They Do All They Can To Make Other People Laugh At Their Customers...
Nice find, Justin. I enjoyed reading their comments. At least they're honest (a 9.5" in height device is not bulky) LoL
i would die of laughter if i hired a photographer and they came through with their ipad 2..
Just reading the comment about it being lightweight - from my use of the old ipad in the store afyer a while it began to get quite heavy (thats partly why i got the tab) i doubt with the ipad 2 apple have made it dramaricaly lighter (doubt it). either that or i have feeble arms (not the case)
and re it being small - i doubt it will fit in a pocket unlike the tab (thats what samsung claim and it will fit in my jenes pocket)
and re it being fast? Its 1.8ghz in total whilst the xoom is 2ghz so the xooms faster.

I don't necessarily love that.
....It's just that Samsung is clearly the front innovator here.
As soon as they step up product manufacturing quality and get their commercial vector to focus, they will be on their way to absolute "portable communications + media devices" market dominance (...they may need to get someone new to achieve that focus...).
Myself, I am thinking about this:

Flexible is one thing but can a crease be made in the display by accidentally folding it?
My wifi 7.7 finally came in yesterday. Thing is leaps and bounds over the Nexus 7 I had. Screen is absolutely superb and the speakers are great. Best part is I dont have to worry about it falling apart in my hand like that dam Nexus. When I got it out of the box it was on HC but immediately flashed up a message for the jump to ICS. Im really surprised how smooth it runs on ICS. Ive tweaked it to my liking and disabled some of the crap. But all in all im extremely pleased with it.

Considering my N7 was 250 and my 7.7 was only 270 through Verizon with mobile data for $10 a month with no contract plus a way better screen, better build quality, and looks way better totally worth it. Tegra 3 isn't all that. I don't mind the lack of development so much but I really wish samsung would support this like it really should. There are tabs still being released as new with similar hardware specs and have jelly bean and will still get updated. This tab really shouldn't of had HC out of the box when it was released IMO.

Definitely, yes.
Out of all "new" devices I have bought, this so far has given me the biggest "wow". I have never experienced such a leap in performance and awesomeness from one device to another device like with this one. And it's not like I jumped 2010 to 2013; most recently I went Galaxy Note to Xperia T to Xperia Z.
It's not perfect, it's got it's faults. But it's whining on a very high level.
Edit: crappy thread title btw, should be named "Xperia Z appreciation thread"
People will always whine about the latest phone. Next will be the HTC flagship then the Samsung galaxy flagship then the 2H Sony flagship and so on.
There will never be a perfect phone, like computers, always issues and society wanting more.
Dont worry its normal

Get used to it. That's how things are now on XDA.
Wait for S4 - then people will trash HTC One. And after few months, they'll trash S4 and praise another device... Seriously, if we have people calling S4 Pro chips "outdated" now - it's clearly quite absurd...
What a useful thread!

Perfect argument.
But if we talk about people who actually own S3 devices and are very happy about it - this argument becomes invalid instantly... i mean people who criticize plastic screen protector, but are fine with whole flimsy plastic body - that's just ridiculous.

Seconded. Crap thread.
With new technology introduce almost every 3months.There can never be a "perfect phone". Even telcos are finding it difficult to catch up( new phone launch almost every month). If the performance of a phone is not upto our expectations, why dun we just buy a better phone if we can afford it instead of whinning over it. Else , lets just be appreciative. My humble personal opinion, XZ is a great phone with flaws( design by human and humans are'nt perfect).I cannot afford to purchase a "greater" phone cause my line will not be able to recontract for another 2 years. Thus am contented with XZ. 2cents.
I don't think that this topic deserves its own thread.

I have to say, Apple usually has great designs, but its new Watch is downright ugly. I also prefer the design of the 5S to the iPhone6. Not that I care so much, Imma buy the Note 4.
they completely miss the innovator (the boss)...
 I like the tagline,,, Welcome to 2012 LOL
ip6 and 6p are a utter joke, I even know some die hard apple fans who say its meh but yet still say they are getting it. Im like are you serious??
they have also conned the apple fans by not inc a 32gb model so now in the uk this is what you get.
iphone 6:
16gb £549
64gb £619
128gb £699
Literally any 2012 android flagship is better
iphone 6+:
16gb £619
64gb £699
128gb £789
literally any phablet is better, never mind the note 2, 3, 4.
My brother uses iPhone and when I ask him about features he said "it just works".. lol
He also said Android crashes alot. Not sure where he heard that my stock rooted n4 had never " crashed".
I think though the iPhone would be ok if the price was inline with premium android phones. I really like the build quality but the price is insane. The day I go out and spend over $1100 for a phone is the day it will have lady parts.
Sent from my Nexus 4 using XDA Free mobile app
We all laugh because iPhone 6/6+ finally add things we had in 2012, but in reality I'd say Apple finally caught back up to Android. All the main features of Android are now present in the iPhone 6/6+. I'm shocked that Apple finally gave up Steve Jobs' silly notion that large screens are bad. 4.7" and 5.5" are solid screen size options that cover most people'swishes.
You still have to deal with Apple's closed ecosystem. In terms of phone lockdown, though, since carriers in the US are locking down Android handsets more and more that point becomes less of an issue here in the US.
I'm still primarily considering Note 4 and Nexus X/6/5(2014)/whatever to replace my Note II, but this is finally a new serious contender from Apple.
