I was hoping that the SMS feature in Facebook Messenger would be enabled for the Nexus 4, but it seems that's not the case? My GS3 has it and I heard the Galaxy Nexus does. I figured the Nexus 4 would too.
Any word on when more phones might get it?

Anyone else noticing an issue where they wake the screen and there's a notification that your Google account failed to connect? I'm seeing this on both my N10 and Gnex. Maybe it's a 4.2 issue?

Seeing issue in n7 and s3 here as well
Swyped while swerving from my Samsung GS3
Yeah, I reauthenticated and it reconnected. Seemed like a Google server down-time or something.
Droid Razr - Running JB 4.1.2....Same issue. You are not alone
Same here on 2 Galaxy S3's a Galaxy Tab my Nexus and a Zoom. Must be a Google issue.
Thanks for confirming this. Sounds like a Google issue.

One X, Tab 8.9, Galaxy Note, Nexus 7, and Nexus 10 all having this issue for the last couple days.
Actually glad to see it's widespread in a way, had me a little paranoid.
Must be Google issue as all my android devices are seeing this message

Same here both nexii 10 and 4 have the issue. Actually the other night my desktop dropped connection for a few minutes.
Has anybody tried to use the NFC feature? I tried to use it with a galaxy nexus and an S3 and no luck...this is a feature I was really looking forward to

You have to activate it. Turn NFC on in settings >>more >>NFC.

I was just doing it today at Thanksgiving dinner with 2 different Galaxy S3 phones. It works really well.
Depends what your trying to send. I tried sending a picture using beam from my note 2 to my nexus 4 and it didn't work, it did using drop box. I'm assuming it had to do with the two gallery apps not being the same.
It is activated. And I tried sending photos too but it didn't work. I sent a YouTube video though. Its all I could send

sending pics only work on Jellybean. If the other device was still ICS it won't go. I tried to send a pic to my GF's Skyrocket and it wouldn't go. sent one to my sister's gNex with Jellybean and it went just fine.

It's because they don't use the same gallery app.

Not true. Something wrong on your end. I sent a pic from my nexus 4 to note 2 today. Used NFC and gallery open only on nexus 4.

No it isn't. The Gallery app doesn't have anything to do with it.
When you share a picture over beam on a stock Jelly Bean device the receiving device understands that the content to be transferred is a picture and opens a Bluetooth serial connection to the sending device. The file is then transferred over Bluetooth.
Samsung has enhanced this process starting with the S3 (S-Beam) to use Wifi-Direct for much faster transfers. However they invented their own way of doing things (as they often do). Google stated they have plans to migrate to Wifi Direct as well in a later release once the standards flush out (it didn't make it into 4.1 though and doesn't appear to have made it in to 4.2).
The issue from the Note 2 to the N4 is likely a mismatch in that the Note 2 is going to try to use S-Beam (which doesn't work with non Samsung Touchwiz devices) and the N4 is still looking to leverage Bluetooth tunneling.
Going the other way (N4 - Note 2) should work assuming it's running Jelly Bean.
that guy right there^^^^ Nailed it!

Since yesterday I get repeated notifications for the same thing. For example I'll get a Twitter or Facebook notification. I'll click it and take action in the app, the notification is now gone as normal. A few minutes later I'll get the same notification again! Was wondering if this had something to do with Google Services Framework update since I'm running stock rom and this problem just started yesterday. Very odd. Anyone else?

I got repeat notifications on twitter yesterday as well. Just as u described. Hopefully it was a twitter problem.

Nope. I'm getting them on Facebook too. Think its a Google Push Notification issue that's related to the Google Services Framework update. That's my guess.

I'm getting the same issues on my Nexus 7 too so it definitely appears to be a server issue and not device specific. Hopefully they fix it soon.

I just got my Nexus 4 and I donated my Gnex to my wife who seems to be getting on well with it. Both phones are synced to the same Play account and both have the exact same email accounts that they sync with.
The problem is that any email sent seems to arrive on the Gnex way before the Nexus 4. Frequently the Gnex will chime and the N4 will do nothing. Even 15 mins later, the N4 will not chime and if you look at the notifications, there's no new email at all. It's only when you launch the gmail app that the new email will show up!
If you reboot the N4, things go back to normal for a while but soon, the N4 starts to not notify. It doesn't do this all the time but for 75% of the emails, it's quiet.
It's driving me crazy because both phones are setup exactly the same but my shiny new N4 is behaving like an ass.
Can anyone shed some light on this stupid behaviour?

The N4 has an issue with delayed notifications on WiFi. A driver issue. Supposedly Google fixed it for the next ota.

My favorite app for messaging hands down is hangouts. I have it on my Nexus 4. Is there a way to forward all messages and texts I get on my Nexus 4 hangouts to the hangouts app on my Nexus 7?
Sent from my Nexus 7 using xda app-developers app
Yes, log in on both with same Google acct. Sms may not go to device with out a phone number though
No SMS messages are displayed on my Nexus 7 but they show on my Nexus 4. That's why I am wondering if there is a way to forward the SMS messages.
