You can probably find information in the NativeSD threads, perhaps this one:

Hi,
if you have a NAND-build, too, you can also see here (NAND -> NativeSD)

What SD ROM are you wanting to convert? Is theres a nand version of it the nand version will be easy to covert.

oh dear oh dear,to be polite here.you can either have Nand wich was for the HD2 was designed so that Android can be run off the phones memory were Windows mobile is or you can have SD wich basicly Android runs off SD but relys on Windows Mobile so the Answer to your Question is no You deffinently cant port Nand to SD
its not just convert system, img to ext2 and put kernel ?
The OP is asking for a way to get a NAND build and use it as an SD build, most likely. I doubt that is possible, Proz00, but you should definetly ask a dev, they are the only ones who can give you a clear answer.

better android

hi every one
finally I could get android into my Hd2 thanks to serjio76. this is after Ive tried 2 different issues with failure. now the question is that all android issues are installed and loaded from SD card which make the system some what slower than WM 6.5. can any one develop and android which install and work directly from main memory of phone itself but not SD card. for example by bootloader installation method. that would be the perfect android for my openion
for all developers please help me with this problem

Dearest drammehd2
to make things clear... you can run winmo 6.5 which comes initially with your HD2 and put android on your SD card and load it from there, or you replace winmo with MAGldr and flash an android NAND to your HD2. Also, you can flash WM7 now to your HD2 with MAGldr... and and and...
Seems like you haven't looked around at all... so start reading!

If we don't understand then how can we help? From what you've written, it seems to me that you have Android on SD card but you want to remove Windows and have Android on your phone instead (not the SD).
Is this correct?

[Q] Transforming a nand rom to an sd rom

As wrote in the title.. because of the new miui are not more producted in via sd I would like to produce it but I don't know how is possible.. are there people that can say me how is it possible to do it?
THANKS IN ADVANCE!!!!
Technically it should be possible by converting the system files from a nand build to a system.ext2 file and using an sd initrd.gz, and I had several devs trying to teach me to do it but I was never able to get it to boot. I never tried converting a miui rom though so who knows.
i havent actually done it but i am able to port most of the roms except apps and framework. the second i do that it wont boot
I have the same question because I want to use MIUI 1.4.1 too. Or is there somebody that wanna do it?

^Bscly. Of course it requires a Linux box.
in order to get the build to boot you'll have to correctly mod the files in linux

Great, thanks a lot. downloading right now. will try tomorrow.
I wish there could be a manual/tutorial how to do it. I hate begging people to get it done for SD. I doubt your chef would be doing every new version of MUIU to SD. That's why it would be great to learn so that me and others like myself could do it on our own.
Thanks for getting this build converted.

All MIUI roms needs language pack after installation. In the earlier SD builds, the language pack was placed in the root folder and the device reboot would update the language pack.
BTW someone already ported the 1.4.8 build for SD/MAGLDR in this post
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=12839635&postcount=206
Just an idea... shall we form a team, create a thread "Porter Series SD Roms" or something like that and try porting all the NAND roms to SD build?
But are there any rules in XDA that prohibits us from doing this? Did not want to end up being banned here.

need help

Hello guys I got an hd2 yesterday...I am very new to this device ....mine hd2 is non T-Mobile. Means EU Hd2.
I wants to flash this Rom on my hd2..
Can someone tell me step by step procedure of installing this Rom .
Thanks in advance.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1484198
Why don't u read the hd2 forum? Its what u should do at very first. Will help to decide what u need and what u won't. Will help to reduce bricks, problems etc..
Btw I will help u with a quick guide.
1) install radio version that support 512mb ram then install hspl 2.08
2) install clk/ magldr
3) install cwm
4) partition ur SD to fat32 and ext3/4
5)put ur desired rom.zip on SD fat32
6) put card in phone, reboot to cwm, choose install.zip option
7) browse and select ur rom.zip
8) finish install, reboot... yap u have it.
U can do all those installation ( except rom unless u use. Ruu/img files) directly using a windows tool named as hd2 toolkit. And u need corresponding drivers for it to detect ur phone.

Um, he should install HSPL first and then install the radio. How can he flash a custom radio ROM without HSPL?
Just a quick question is it is necessary to create ext 3/4 partition as I m a noob and I have sensation and SXL..and I never create any partition.
If you use large ROMS like sense 3.0 or 3.5 ROMS, then we will need it. The ROM dev will tell it.

Depends, if u use ics, sense 3-3.5 u will need it. More over its needed for app2sd or data 2sd, in case u want ur apps should be installed on SD.
Most of the new roms today are using the extra partition. So better do it.

Help on transition from WP7 to Android

Sorry for the noobish post but Im really having a hard time finding a post to help with this. I currently Have WP7 on my htc hd2 and as of seeing xylographs rom, paranoid android http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1662881 . I really want to switch to android on my htc hd2. But unfortunently I know that it is not as easy as just installing CWM and flashing. Any help with the steps needed to switch from WP7 to xylography rom?

You're right, it's not as easy as installing CWM and flashing. It's as easy as installing CWM, formatting your SD card ( so that it isn't in WP7 formatting any more) then flashing
I don't know how exactly that is done but from what I've heard an old Nokia should do the trick.

Yes to the question with the SD card. Also yes you must install 6.5 first then use the hd2 toolkit to installed hspl and install either clk or mgdlr and then you can flash the ROM via recovery

@OP Yes, you can just use a different SD card but there certainly is no need to flash to WinMo 6.5. Just follow this guide, you already have all of the prerequisites.
