PIM data explorer - Touch HD General

I'm using PIMBackup on WM6.5 to backup all PIM data (contacts, appointments, tasks, e-mail, SMS, etc...).
I want to know if there is an app for the phone or Windows desktop that can explore the data within a PIM backup, and more importantly, edit it.

Where is the actual data for contacts, calendars, tasks, etc. stored in the filesystem? Any insight is appreciated.

How to backup phone?

I want to update my phone with a newer rom.
But I need to make a backup of it first.
What is the best way of backing the phone up?
Also, I have CoPilot installed, do I have to deactivate this before updating the ROM. Then reinstall and reactivate after the ROM update.
Thanks
You can take backup for you contacts, calender, Task and SMSs before you upgrade.
For Contact, Calender, Task: Outlook is best.
Create a Outlook profile and sync your mobile so that the new profile will have all your Contacts, Calender, Task etc.
For SMS: Use "My Phone" application on your mobile and Sync online to Microsoft My Phone for SMS.
(of course you can use My Phone to sync every thing online, But I prefer only SMS for myself)
Thanks.

Keeping contacts, music, etc

Hello, is it possible for me to keep contacts and other data after I have installed the Cyanogen rom on. Cheers!
yes use titanium back up from the market to back up apps & sys data
your music will stay on your sd card so that is ok
If you have your Contacts synced with your Google Account, it will automatically be restored when you perform a Google Sync after installing Cyanogenmod. Else, you can use many apps on the market which can export to VCF or export to the SIM card.
For apps, as suggested, use Titanium Backup (Warning - Only perform "Backup User Apps and Data" in Ti Backup. Don't do a "Backup System Apps" and Restore in Cyanogenmod - It will create issues)
For SMS'es, use SMS Backup from market.
Other stuff on the SDCard, as stated above, will not be affected. (Pics, Vids, Music etc)
If you dont want to sync your contacts with google, you can use myphoneexplorer to sync your contacts with outlook, it worked out very well for me.
cheers
I use mybackup pro which syncs contacts, SMS and apps etc. I have used this with a few different roms and it worked well
Sent from my HTC Wildfire using XDA App
