AW: [Q] Does it worth duying a Nexus 7
I would recommend to buy it, it's great
But if you can wait a few months, wait until the Google I/O, maybe they will publish an update of the nexus 7 :good:

I would honestly recommended the nexus. Its by far the best 7 inch tablet out there and it can even easily compete with the 10 inch ones. Its perfectly suitable for my everyday needs and the quad core processor is blistering compared to these sluggish dual Core ones

Yes , I was thinking about waiting for the new nexus 7.
I also believe that the new Samsung note 8 will be a great competition
for the nexus.
I am worried about the problems that I have read over the forum
and about the 1gb ram I think it needs more.

Honestly you can't go wrong buying a Nexus 7, specially the price.

what kind of feedback are you expecting from a forum dedicated to people who love their nexus 7? this is like going to a mazda dealership and asking them if it's worth buying a mazda.

Agree with the post above mine, but the reason I bought the 7 specifically is due to the price. For $250 there isn't a better device available.

You get great specs at the best price point out there. What is it not to love, and what makes the decision so hard. For the 7 inch form factor, it has no rival nowadays. If you're looking for a bigger display, a better resolution go with the nexus 10, galaxy tab 2, galaxy note 10.1 etc.

No, I don't think you should dye the nexus, but in all honesty you should buy it

No other 7' tablet can compare to the Nexus 7 especially on price

Just like the "Secret Garden" that had been growing without any care or management, locked behind a door.
Actually it was horrible looking until it was "opened up" and cleared and replanted. Put Android on that iPad

I have an ipad2, a TF700T and two Nexus 7s. The Nexus 7's are my favorites. Right size, right price, right speed. Tad heavy. So far not the smallest glitch in either one. One is a 32gig wi-fi, the other is a 32gig wi-fi/ATT.
Zero buyers remorse on this purchase.

In all seriousness, the Nexus 7 is a great tablet period. I was kidding about the Ipad.

Bought the nexus 7 32GB today, this thing is great. Office Max had the Asus TF300 10.1" 32GB for $250. I'm glad I went with the nexus 7. Now when I use my galaxy nexus it feels small, lol.

Wait for the next generation. 1080p screen and should get a nice performance boost too. the current Nexus 7 is really starting to get slow with its crappy sd and cpu performance.

My theroy about the 5 nexus devices rumor

rumors have been going on about the 5 nexus devices to be released this year as Google io is done the nexus Q is 1 Nexus 7 is 2 and there are rumor of a nexus 10 device which could be 3 and 4 is the next nexus device and 5 could be their own branded Google Tv
I'm wondering whether Google will release a Nexus phone this year as in November, the galaxy nexus will have been out for a year...
Sent from my Nexus S
figure 1 phone and possibly another Tablet, who knows about the last. It's a shame the NexusQ isn't a GoogleTv device but no reason it couldn't be upgraded to one in the future.
I think it may go something like this (slight modification to your idea):
Nexus Q
Nexus Tablet 7in
Nexus Tablet 10in
New Nexus Device $500-$600 - This is the device to rule all devices
GNex Reduced to around $249-$299 - This will allow for a budget friendly, unlocked and powerful device for people who do not want to drop the big bucks for the new device (see above)
If this was the case I would grab the Gnex for my wife and the New device for myself!!
10inch tab is a must
Sent from my Nexus S using xda app-developers app
I'm going to have to disagree, the Xoom still fits that area pretty well (especially since it just got JB) and the Nexus 7 owes most of it's success to it's price point (which I doubt a 10 inch version could come close to since it would need a higher resolution than 1280x800).
Is there the possibility for a 8.1 inch Nexus 7? This should keep the price still lower than $500. Perhaps $300, and a really good size-neither big nor small.

It doesn't make sense to release a new device for 1.1 more inches of screen size.
I personally don't want a nexus 10 but to be different I suggest nexus 9 i have had 3 10 inches tablets (HP touchpad, Motorola xoom , and Samsung galaxy tab 10.1, ) and the bn nook color along with a iPad 3 (mywifes) and I have to say.... when I went to best buy to check out Samsung's 8.9 it was just the right size .... didn't get one because just don't have the money .... so nexus 9 FTW!

Should I buy the nexus 7 or...

Hi guys, well I live in Kuwait and the nexus 7 8gb is roughly around 275$ (I know it's expensive but that's the price its sold at cause it's imported) anyways I would still consider it a good price cause there's nothing similar in that price range except that I am in a dilemma over the new Huawei mediapad 10 FHD which is at 375$ (the same price the 16gb nexus retails for).
Frankly I read a lot of good things about the nexus but am considering the Huawei because of 3g support & 1080p 10.1 inch display. Now which one would be a better choice? I'm unsure of Huawei about the after sales support and developer support. But it looks like a bargain for its specs. I'm confused.

What I can tell you is that I love my Nexus 7 The 7 inch screen for me is just amazing. Before I bought the tablet ( because it is my first ) I was thinking about Ipad. I tried to hold it comfortably and without panting ( because of the weight ) but couldn't. If you want a small but still readable and easy to hold/move tablet that has google support go for it : )
I have no experience with the huaweii whatsoever so can't judge it or rate it but ask yourself how will you use the tablet
I just picked up a nexus 7 too and its amazing. I like it much better than the iPad. The 7 inch screen and the size of it just feels better in your hand than a larger tablet. But that's just my humble opinion.

Thanks for the opinion guys, guess I'll try them both in my hands and get a feel although I'm more inclined towards the Google child..

I prefer the 7" screen. The 10" tablet is just too big to be comfortable holding.

Are Nexus 7 owners still happy with their device now Nexus 10 is announced?

I recently sold my iPad as I havent used it since becoming an S3 and then a Note 2 owner. My initial plan was to get the new 32gb N7 as I liked the size of it and the specs seemed great too. Plus the fact its still a portable size and not to clumsy to handle.
Anyway, since seeing the N10 specs im in two minds as what to do. Are any N7 owners thinking of selling up and moving to N10 or is the N7 still capable of holding its own.

I'll move to the Nexus 10 once they announce one with a cellular radio. Otherwise, I'm happy staying on the N7 for the time being. Besides, once I get the N10, I'll gift this to my mom.
I will keep my N7. And for N10 I learned my lesson not to be an early adopter and wait a few months.

So I had a nook color as my first tablet which was 7 inches and loved it, then got an HP touchpad and put ice cream sandwich on, and I can say I rarely used my touchpad, I would a little bit here and there but it was big and bulky to carry around, however since I have gotten the nexus 7 which is almost 2 months ago now, I haven't put the thing down.
Its small enough to put in a bag, and comfy enough to type on using both hands without having to prop it up or manipulate it differently.
While its still has enough screen real estate to scale stuff right, also the UI that Google put on this kinda big phoneish in a way is awesome, this is a device meant for portrait use where as the nexus 10 feels landscape bound in nature

Most of the time I prefer 7 to 10. There are times 10 would be better (working at a desk, or doing a presentation), but if I had to pick one size it would be 7. I do wish I could have gotten 16 gig of memory for the same price though, although I'm doing fine with 8 with some care.

Yes. Because a 7inch tablet is not a 10 inch tablet.

I already have a 10.1" tablet along with my Nexus 7 and my S III. I'm good with what I have.
If the Nexus 10 and 7 were released at the same time, I would still have purchased the Nexus 7. Its a great device, and its Google's flagship. It has a great dev. community, its $199...love it
I love the 7" format. So yes, I am happy with it. Great product for the price. The 10" was much more than expected and in no position to spend that much on a device at this time.

When the 7 was announced I decided not to buy it because I prefer a bigger tablet for reading documents and web surfing. The price was great, but so is in the 10.
Seriously... 399$ for a 10 inch super hd screen with powerful processor and 2GB RAM? It's as great as a deal as on the 7.
7 is too small for serious work. If I were going to use it only as entertainment then it would be enough.

To you lucky people who already have the new Nexus 7, does it really feel loads better than the first generation N7, and how? Here in Europe we won't be getting this for a while yet it seems, so I can't find out for myself.

Depends on you really.
with the build quality, and more efficient CPU, more RAM, thinner, lighter, better feel in my hand. it was a no brainer for me

Agreed, no brainer here either. Better everything, including build. And for the price, for me it's more of a why not.
Although the Note 8 is a pretty damn good tablet all around.
Having a better screen and speakers that are actually useable makes all the difference for me. The build quality seems better to me. I sold my first gen Nexus 7 on ebay months ago because I couldn't watch things on it or listen to music without headphones. Upgraded speed is also a big plus.
I would say yes.
The 4.2 update for the nexus 7 was really bad but the 4.3 update fixed alot of that. That said the new nexus 7 has a great screen and performs much better than the previous model even with the 4.3 update.
IMO, yes. Definitely worth the upgrade for me.
The speakers is what I love about the new 7!

I dropped my old N7 a couple months ago so I've been dying for another e-reader. bought a nook HD+ and quickly returned it since the build on it is crap.
So glad I ended up returning it in the return window because this tablet blows it out of the water and it isn't even a competition. It's an upgrade in every conceivable way to the older N7: physical specs including feel and build quality, software, and hardware.
This is one of those updates where literally everything is upgraded almost across the board, and considering my old N7 was having serious lag issues, it was a no-brainer upgrade for me. There isn't anything that is immediately at another level than the old N7, but when so much is upgraded and refined (screen, speakers, no lag, RAM, processor, build quality) I personally couldn't resist.
I also had the 8 GB N7, and even though I don't use much internal storage at all that was still too little, so moving up to 16 GB should help a lot.
I used my original all day every day for business and then reading at home.
This model is certainly snappier and the added resolution really helps for docs etc during a meeting.

Yes, there is no real comparison between the two. It is a full on sequel in every way.
It is that much better. Screen is amazing, and sound is amazing, so loud, camera still sucks' back camera sucks,. If you have the original nxus 7 its a decent upgrade.,, I returned mine. Will wait for nexus 7 3.
Its pretty good. Screen is nice and the speakers are much louder. Its a good bit faster as well.

From HTC one to Nexus 4

Well guys I don't know if I made the right choice here but I have a nexus 4 coming my way even though I have the HTC one
Don't know if it was the smartest decision to buy now specially since the one has better hardware specs but seeing all these you tube videos on the nexus 4 and how smooth it is and better ROM support I was tempted and so here I am now waiting for my device.
Any good first good ROM you guys recommend for my nexus 4?

I went the other way round. I now have the HTC One. Regarding smoothness though you are right. The Nexus 4 is buttery smooth.
You are going to feel it though. The HTC One is a premium device. It shows in the sound quality, screen and camera. These features are lacking in the Nexus 4. But in terms of ROM support there is no comparison. The Nexus 4 has plenty.
Regarding performance though I believe the Nexus 4 has the advantage. A lot of games that were smooth on my Nexus 4 stutter on the One and I believe that is due to the difference in resolution. On the One its a 1080p display, a lot more pixels to push data to.
You may have been better off doing the Google conversion on the One. That's what I did and am currently running Android 4.3.
P.S like the guy above posted. Paranoid is indeed the ROM to flash. If there's anything I really miss from my Nexus 4 it was this.
