Earphones not recognised/not working :(

Well i faced this problem quite some time ago... my phone didn't recognize when i plugged in my earphones. So i thought there might be some problem in ROM, and i switched to kyrillos' 9.5, then cm7 a7, then ICS and now Kyorarom, but no use. I thought the earphone must be broken, but its working on other devices. I tried some other earphones/headphones and some speakers but none of them work. Well my phone didn't fall dawn and more over its a new mother board changed just 2 months back.. since then i am facing the problem... any solution ???

Sometimes my galaxy 3 doesn't recognise the earplugs either, I just need to pull them in and out a few times and try to press the plug a bit down while pushing it in so the connector hits the metal side inside the plug.
It does work for me most of the time otherwise it might be broken.

Me to because of the curve of the galaxy 3 every earphones aren't reconize or have a terrible sound because they aren't plug correctly

I think I found why there are some working headphones and some don't... If u look at the jack on the stock headphones it's 3 pins and some headphones have 4 pins

I try with 2 4 pins earphones and i had to put the Jack not entirely

That really makes sense!
Check my headphones-
The first one is my iPod ones which never gets detected.
The middle one is my skullcandy one. It has 2 pins. It gets detected but plays crapy music
The third one is the stock one.

Are they the Samsung headphones or are the a different brand? I know the original ones used a standard pinout, but then because of the iPhone all these new headsets use a mental one that now everyone has copied.

I tried with stock Samsung, Nokia, other Samsung, speakers and many more... though none seem to work... the service center guy say about 500 rs (10 $) for repair

I'm pretty sure I/O attendees had the chance to try it for $1,500. As beta testers.

Incorrect, I recently attended Google HQ and had the chance to talk to developers of the Google glasses, even the employees havent seen them so much on campus, they had a base price yeah but no one actually owns a pair

Im seroiusly tempted to sell my sgs 3 at a loss that ive only had 2 weeks.

I want to get in before this thread gets locked.
I too am thinking of getting the 4S.5 lol. What a joke. The most valuable company on earth and all they can come up with is a stretched 4s.

Why would somebody in theyre right mind do that?
If you dont like the sgs3 there are far better options from nokia, htc and maybe others than iphone 5 )
If Apple would have released that phone with that specs 1-2 years ago (apart from the a15), yea, it would make sense to consider buying it.
But it is way behind todays standards! And it supposedly is best of Apple for a year to come? )

Well, when I switch the GS3 for another phone, it'll have to be an upgrade, not a downgrade.. so why would I switch to the iPhone 5?

Generic but good quality Motorola charger that I got when I had a Droid 1. Amazing it works and more amazing that a generic from that time period was wired correctly to show itself as AC charging and charges at 1A.

I use the usb port on the belkin bluetooth hands free unit

car charger usb 12V Ansmann
Hi, had the HTC CC-C200 before but it just hold batterie while using navigation + bluetooth mp3.
Now i use Ansmann 1000-0001 USB CAR CHARGER 1A + MICRO USB KABEL and it loads N4 fully up even using navigation etc.
There is no online store selling it but in Germany it can be bought in "Saturn".

Galaxy S3 ....
Its fine but damn do I miss having the Xperia Play.
Actually going to try and repair mine and use it as a standalone gaming device.
So mad that a successor was never attempted

I bought an Xperia play for gaming so I didn't actually switch out, I switched in. Using Note 3 atm.

Switched to the S4. Miss the game pad

Might just get another sim, and keep the Xperia Play in my jacket.

Galaxy Nexus.

Nothing I'll always keep at least Xperia Play, its a one of a kind. I'm using it as the main calling device right now, and the Nexus 4 for flashing and everything else.

Xperia SP, an affordable device with the beastly adreno 320.

How was the speakers on the xperia z? I love how the play has stereo speakers. I know the htc one has stereo speakers. Its a beautiful device. But after using it and a gs4 for a week each... went back to my play.

Speaker on the Z is terrible. Because of the water resistance they obviously didnt have a lot to work with so it has one small slit on the bottom for sound to come out and it is very quiet. I love the fact that the Play sound is so good.

Still got the Xperia Play as my main phone, but I'm mostly using the Nexus 7 2012. Tryin' to get the Nexus 5

I have to confess that the Nexus 5 is really appealing to me in a specs department, however I know for a fact soon as I try to load up a game of any kind I will hate it immediately..... I know there are the Moga controllers and other options but the just feel gimmicky to me and I dont want to carry two devices around.... so I am 90% sure I will keep my faithful Xperia PLAY for quite some time.
