Hi guys,
this ROM is a MIUI v4 port based on Dax`s CNA port.
The MIUI v4 version I´ve used is the 2.2.24 build of Nexus s.
I took this guide for the build.
I only deleted some apks and added Wifix.apk.
Kernel is pawitp´s, but you can flash any CM9 kernel you like.
Only English and Chinese!!
Dropbox:
http://dl.dropbox.com/u/44995275/kang_.zip
Credit goes to DaxInfinity for his CNA port and proxuser for the guide.
So if you like this port, go to their threads and hit thanks button/donate!
Changelog:
26.2.(2)
added superuser.apk for root
fixed mistake in build.prop
26.2.(1)
first release
removed e-mail, Talk, NFC and Maps
added WiFix

It's just a simple port everybody can do. Dax made the real work. Don't think dev section is the right place.

Hi everybody.
I will start a project to create mirror links for every rom/mod/kernel for the international Galaxy S2(GT-I9100).
I have already created mirrors of every modem and from some popular roms but there are many things to be done. Please tell me a rom you want me to mirror and if the dev allows mirroring of his rom.If you don't know if he allows mirroring asking him will help me because i can't pm every dev on s2 section. Please make this thread sticky
I will create mirrors on my goo.im account. My account is here

Great idea!
Keep on working on it, guys! It's a great thing to have all S2's roms mirrored on an unique page! Sometimes sites they're uploaded to doesn't allow more than a determined daily ratio, need regs, etc...
For the roms mirrored you may also create a link that takes you to the original discussion about the rom,. so we double help the developer and the users!
You just need some pub! :highfive:

i'm sorry but i can't add omega as indie says on the first post that doesn't want mirror links.you can acces it from the goo manager app by pressing browse all files,devs,pan24.i won't add the values to the build.prop for auto updating the roms as some of them already have the required values for auto updating from the dev's account, others have their own ota app and other devs won't allow me to do so.
From now on i will also upload stock odexed/deodexed roms from wanamlite

From a Froyo/GB Rom to SlimICS
Download latest cm9 nightly or any ICS kernel (odin or cmw flashable), device_x.x.zip and Slim_Common.zip
Enter CWM Recovery, Wipe data, Format System ( In Mounts and Storage)
Flash CM9 nightly or any ICS kernel ( via odin or cwm).
Reboot to recovery.
Flash Device_x.x.zip***, then Slim_Common.zip.
Reboot to system, Enjoy.
*** - If the flash is too quick ( < 5 seconds or so), reflash base before flashing essentials.
is this correct?
ahem, that's not what it says at all...
You're already on SlimICS. You dont need the Froyo/GB instructions..
"From another JB or ICS Rom to SlimBean
Download device_x.x.zip, slim_gapps.zip.
Enter CWM, wipe data, format system ( in mounts and storage)
Flash Device_x.x.zip***, then MUST flash slim_gapps.zip (other files optional)
*** - If the flash is too quick ( < 5 seconds or so), reflash device before flashing common or other zip files."
Also, NOTE. COMMON is not used anymore. Its now: Device_x.x.zip, slim_gapps.zip OR AIO.zip, and for this build, srec.addon.googlenow.zip as well (or something like that). Also, multidpi play store might be needed if you are going to change DPIs.
One more thing, please PM our Forum Moderator Oka1 and request him to move this to Vibrant Q&A section.
And make sure you click "thanks" for Krarvind, the one who built this amazing ROM and PRBassPlayer, our maintainer! (And me too, if you feel like it.)

Lol already there are 2 kernels. No need to guide which is already known.
Sent from my GT-I9000 using xda app-developers app
not only to put the kernel already there ... everyone knows but this thread is also to share experiences ..
No offence but this is a bad idea... The developers of each kernel have or will have a dedicated thread so that users can post bugs reports and share experiences there.... That is what the development section is obviously for.
This will just confuse things.
You also need permission off each kernel developer to post links which I doubt you have
I think this is a good idea to know in one thread all kernels that we can install in our device with 4.2 OS... It's most organized and easily if you want to ask opinions or download a kernel. THANKS slipknot30
Enviado desde mi Nokia 3210 usando Tapatalk 2.
This its staying in general as its a discussion of kernels an not a kernel release.
I think that this is a good idea.
Everyone can discuss different kernels, likes and dislikes, etc.. without mucking up the development section, with post like, "I use the so-and-so kernel instead"
Don't get me wrong, I like knowing which kernels people are using on their ROM's. It's just the development section for a particular kernel build, seems a little out of place for that info.
Maybe it will work, maybe it won't. Only one way to find out...
Btw, thinking off trying the new semaphore kernel.
Jeremy

Maybe useable for some ...
Found out - in version cm-10-20121205-UNOFFICIAL-galaxysmtd.zip (CM 10.1) if you in settings-About-Version, press on the Version number several times then the developer menues get active ...
This thread is for discussing aosp roms, like Slim, Carbon, etc. except for CM though since it has its own thread. This is meant to keep the unhelping chit-chatter out of the development threads where bug reports best reside. When posting here, clarify what aosp rom you're on. Do not post bug reports here, post them in their respective development threads!
One more thing! While this thread progresses, use search and/or read the faq to see if your question has already been posted before, to avoid repetitiveness and us older lads becoming grumpy.
F.A.Q: (frequently asked questions)
I would like to dualboot, what should I do?
Flash siyah kernel
Help! I flashed siyah and now my rom doesn't boot!
It's because whatever rom you use has a newer mali driver which most kernels aren't updated for. Especially siyah which hasn't seen some dev love in ages.
What rom should I flash?
We don't know, you have to try them out yourself!
What's gapps, and is this inside xx rom?
Gapps is short for google apps, which is the Play store and some other apps you sorely need. Go too http://goo.im/gapps and download the gapps package for whatever version you have. Newer aosp roms are most certainly 4.2.2. Some roms, like Slim, have their own separate gapps packages specially made for those roms. In those cases, the standard gapps from goo.im will not work!
Help! I flashed xx rom but now it doesn't boot!
Try making a factory reset in the recovery and reflash whatever rom you were on. Also, in most cases, CWM works better for rom installations. Twrp craps out for unknown reasons.
Help! I wiped data and reflashed the rom but it still doesn't boot!
That sounds like a rom issue. Try flashing an earlier version of the rom.
Help! Something screwed up and now my phone doesn't boot anymore!
Well, reboot into recovery and see if a reflash helps. It is always recommended to regularly keep your system backed up in case something nasty happens. Perform a nandroid backup every once in a while.
What is a nandroid backup?
It's like a screenshot of your current state which you can return to if something bad happens. A nandroid backup backs up the system, boot (kernel) and data and, if specified/selectable, it also backs up cache and recovery. Maybe even efs (in twrp). However, it doesn't back up the modem!
I flashed xx kernel and I now get a black screen upon reboot!
That is because the rom you flashed has the new mali driver from the 4.2.1 leak and the kernel you flashed isn't updated with this driver. Stay on the provided kernel for now.
Thanks to:
I forgot to give thanks where due, and I'm so sorry for that. If I got an advice from you, hit me up and your name goes on this list.
C_tho; for mentioning the mali driver stuff.
Noble Sir Slaphead20; for suggesting I'd maintain an FAQ and suggesting I'd make an entry covering gapps.

Only Siyah, and Siyah only supports the older aosp roms.
Speaking of aosp, I just had an urge to flash Carbon. Think I'll do it, because I'm a bit bored of running touchwiz and I've run CM for so long I need change. I didn't like RootBox that much (too many settings, lol. I like a "leaner" setup) and there's no official aokp for our device. I also didn't like Slim, so I'll give Carbon another go.

What DSA said. We do not welcome JellyBam here anymore because the developer broke a lot of rules of XDA. Plagiarism and violating the gpl, amongst others.

I updated the op with a small faq. More to come in the following days.
In the Faqs it might be worth mentioning in the gapps bit that some Roms ie slim, have their own gapps, and others won't work
Just flashed Carbon 1.5, not regretting it thus far! This ROM gives the word buttery smooth a whole new meaning!

Not sure this goes here, but ill give it a go anyways.
In the Slimbean thread there was a lot of talk about mali drivers. Now could someone please give me some info on the matter cause seems like I missed something.
Basicly what im wondering is whats up with the mali drivers and why do I want them?
Sorry if this is off-topic or has been answered somewhere else.

The only problem with SuperNexus is it is updated very slowly. Also Faryaab has exams to do now, so it will not get updated at least until he is done with them.
If you want a super light rom I would reccomend SlimBean it's fast, and light, battery is acceptable, and it's easy to change settings like screen density and navbar settings without having to edit build.prop and decompile framework-res.apk, which you will have to do on SuperNexus.
what about the smoothness of it?
Another one there to vouch for Carbon, running it on both phone and tablet

I love AOSP Roms and thank you for starting this thread. Unfortunately I am afraid that I can't use such Roms as a daily driver because of the camera problems. Bluetooth also seems to be a problem for some users.
