Hello,
I want my device to be secured. In order to have it secured, I only install the recovery from RomManager when I need it and I let it get restored on reboot.
But the fact is that, as my bootloader is unlocked, a malicious person could do anything using fastboot. So I want to lock back my booloader.
As anyone experienced it? Does relocking wipes data? My device is rooted, would I be able to flash recovery with rommanger when relocked?
Regards.
No it won't wipe data.
Also a xda member made an app to lock and unlock the bootloader without the use of a computer. Here's the link.

I'm trying to get CM7 onto my girlfriends Arc. Its 2.3.4 and .62, so I guess I have to flash .42 to be able to root.
The thing I am unsure about is whether you can get CWM recovery in without having to wipe the phone. That is, can I in any way do a nandbackup of the current phone with stock ROM, without having to wipe? Or does flashing a new recovery always come with the added wipe of the phone? At what stage does a wipe necessarily need to occur?
Would be thankful for any help.
In order to install cwm you'll either need root or unlocked bootloader. If you want to take a backup of the .62 I would suggest unlocking your bootloader then using fastboot to boot (rather then flash) a kernel that had cwm integrated with it. That way you can get a perfect nandroid of its current state. However I'm unsure if unlocking via SE will cause you to lose data. I believe SETool and omnius won't cause data loss.

Hi,
I am having this common problem upgrading Nexus 4 to Android 4.4. I will flash a clean stock image, but I would live to recover all my data first.
I cannot start properly the device and I can just reach bootloader mode and recovery mode. Could I backup my device in one of those modes?
(I have stock recovery)
All kind of help will be welcome!
Thank you very much!

So what you're saying is your phone won't boot up but it'll boot into the bootloader? And if you wanna back up in recovery you'll need a custom recovery I recommend clockworkmod

Hi,
I recently bought a Nexus 4 and rooted the device using the WugFresh Toolkit 1.8.0
Everything went fine and ROOT was successful.
Then I installed a custom ROM named LIQUID SMOOTH which when started went into Bootloop mode.
Instead of wiping the Dalvik Cache and Cache, I formatted the phone in a hurry.
I had got a backup of the previous ROM in my Nexus but before I could transfer it to my PC, I wiped the phone completely.
Now I am able to get into only RECOVERY MODE.
Could I get some help for the issue I am facing now?
Thanks in Advance.
You need to flash a ROM. You can either flash the factory images though fastboot, or use adb sideload in a custom recovery to flash a ROM of your choosing.

Nexus 4
Well I tried the ADB Sideload Option first.
Did not work out.
Tried flashing a ROM, but for the flashing procedure according to WugFresh toolkit, I need to get into bootloader mode.
But I am not able to get into Bootloader mode.
Any idea what to try out next??
Turn off your phone, press volume down + power and hold. That should get you in the bootloader.

guys help!!
my nexus 4 got no os to boot up, i accidentally wipe all data, now i can only boot cwrp recovery, anyone can guide me how to push rom to the device in recovery?
Use adb. 'adb push path/to/rom.zip /sdcard/'
Failing that you can use fastboot to flash a stock rom.

If you can enter recovery, just sideload it then. Just google it. There should be a youtube videos too. I'm on mobile so can't get you the link.
Edit: Here it is. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2537410

Hi, I was installing PA beta with twrp when I accidentally wiped absolutely everything, including internal storage so my backups are lost. I have no way of getting it back, can I install something with Odin or something to get this back?? Please help as this is the only phone I own!!
Well if you can enter TWRP, you can sideload a ROM.
Either way since you just deleted everything you can also reflash stock using the stickied guide =) don't worry, as long as you either can enter TWRP or download mode.
