First of all sorry to all you DEVs and Users. But I think it's worthy to ask this. I have searched it but haven't found any thread with satisfactory answer. So I am posting here.
I know many of you wont find it good. But this is important. I am new with HD2 device. There are many of ROMs out here from last couple of years. People actually can't flash them all to test or surf almost 10K pages to know it.
so I request you all of you guys as per your personal experience which ROMs are good to use. It is not necessary to be stable but yes it should be worthy.
Please share you experience with ROMs.
If u looking for an good cm gingerbread SD build look no further the AmericanAndroid hasn't been updated in a while but it is a smooth daily build.
If u looking for a good nand build, I would go with IcecreamTosti v1.1 everything is fully working in the rom, an too me its the best daily driver ics build i tryed to date. . .

I've tried a few, but I always come back to HyperDroid. It's smooth and fast and has an excellent cast of developers that are helpful. It is a huge thread and can seems a little bit overwhelming at first, but I think it's well worth doing the research.
The other two mentioned above are solid builds as well. I have not tried AmericANDroid nor the Tosti series, but I haven't read anything nasty or bad about the two.
If your looking for a good Sense based ROM you can try the Energy series. A very solid build, but it is a resource hog.
READ every page prior to installing the rom. You'll be glad you did. You can find out alot about what you're looking for in this way.
Good luck and happy hunting!
And welcome to the HD2 family!
You will never get a satisfactory answer on a thread like this, because your question is subjective. I don't know how many times I've had to explain this
Having said that, my recommendation is NexusHD2 (see, you have 4 different answers in 3 replies).

Yel. I agree too. Hyperdroid is the fastest, smoothest and the most stable build ive tried. But it doesnt really matter. One rom maybe functioning well on one HD2 and it may be messed up on another. So i guess you really have to use the trial and error method

its seems it gonna hard to decide which one is good. Every user has their own prospective. But still I am finding it quite usefull. And i believe people who are new to this device they can also be the beneficiary. Thx guys.
I think ill flash few builds by our awesome devs and then start building it by own...
Throwing in another vote for NexusHD2. Consistently a fast and reliable daily build.
I can still see the worth of threads like this. I just so happened to be looking for the most reliable ICS rom now that we have HWA
I am not an expert, just a regular user. I have used AmericanAndroid, Hyperdroid and JaguarMIUI. I like JaguarMIUI, it's pretty stable and light. GPS lock down took only a few seconds. That is important to me as I travel a lot. Also battery life seems to last longer. I only have problem with Hotmail apps when using JaguarMIUI, as I won't be able to add contact, other than that, all is fine.
True we wont get a definitive answer here, but will at least sort the wheat from the chaff.
I use NexusHD2 HWA Build by tytung - have had no problems what so ever since it became HWA.
I used to run AmeriCan Android GB build, and tbh found it buggy and slow, but probably wasn't the latest build, cant remember now, has been months since I used it.
Hyperdroid seems to be a very solid build, especially for us fans of CyanogenMod.
As I am a fan of Tytung's work I would likely try NexusHD2-Gingerbread V3.2a, if I for some reason-such as needing to save space due to bad blocks, etc; though it is AOSP as opposed to CM.
Im new to this android world but im a fan of the hyperdroid. Cosmetically, im a fan of the coredroid..
Question.. is there a way to get the visual upgrades like on coredroid, but have them integrated into the hyperdroid. ????
Because I´ve WPH too , im must yuse SD builds. My favorite is the Tostidroid. But the last builds had many random reboots so I used MIUI ICS for a while (3 days ). The Nexus HD is goot too, but i love Tostidroid has more options...
And i think the MIUI rom was the most smoth and stable ICS ROM. But the b40 of Tostidroid is now very stable too... Before i Installed WPH I had NexusHD rom @ NAND and it was not bad.
If you are looking for a ICS build Nexus HD and MIUI ICS are the best for daily use...
If you don´t want WPH install the Nexus too Nand that you have a 100% working system for daily use and test the other ROMs as SD builds...
well i would personally recommend miui roms. it is a pain in the ass to solve all the problems that come with it( for me it is the ultra low internal storage and bootloops, but the newer versions doesnt have a bootloop) and for the low storage i am trying to make a ext3 partition. but after that.. WOW! beautiful like no other(even ios not and no, i am no apple fanboy) smooth, perfect build-in apps, good at multitasking, fast... just perfect.
Since November '11 I'm testing a lot of roms, but there was never a Rom which is the best for me.
But then I found myMIUI from the User 'Aternus'. This ROM is my favourite one, its stable, fast and very smooth. The only bad thins is, that it isn't multilingual, but Aternus said, it will come with Jelly Bean
Test the Rom (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1639932), I love it :fingers-crossed:
To me the best rum is Pixeldroid Last Edition RC9 Rom with AROMA INSTALLER/HTC Sensation XL
But unfortunately there are a large drain on the battery

I am sorry guys but this kind of thread never leads to any positive end. ALready said a million times, "best" is subjective and only is "best" for you.

The best custom rom is the one that works best for you. What are you looking for ? ICS / JB / Hybrid ?? They are all available here, and they are all just a bit different from each other based on the developers choices and flair.
I've flashed them all, and whereas one may fit my needs better than another - it does not make the other a bad rom, just not my choice.
With respect to the time and effort of all the developers here - they are all the best, choose the one that you like best
Good luck and happy flashing !!!

This question is FORBIDDEN! lol
No one can really say which is best. Just check out each ROM's thread and see what they have to offer and try them out. You never know which one is best (for you) until you've tried them out yourself.
I've tried out a few different ROMs and have switched between them quite a bit.
For example:
If you're into the look of pure Android (AOSP):
AOKP is very popular, full of customization, so if you're looking to tweak every little thing, it might be great for you.
CyanogenMod is super popular, has a good amount of customization, but not as much as AOKP
Paranoid Android is great too, especially if you want options to switch between Phablet, Tablet and Phone UI
If you like Samsung's stock look and feel (TouchWiz), but just want to debloat then something like Tab2lite is a good way to go.
This is the development thread! Post questions in the q/a thread only!!

Anybody on xda should know by now that nobody will tell you that. Even if the amount of time and key pressed telling you to search for yourself is actually no less than to just tell you a recommendation. I'm using the aokp rom right at about the top of Page 1.

Cm9/10 are both super stable. Aokp is like cm10 but its got more customization and overclocking built in.
To each his own, try them all and pick one.

I'm looking for the custom rom that works better than the other and that is most current.
thanks
Milestone 1 - Calls not working bluetooth (P3100)
CM9/10 - Calls not working bluetooth (P3100)
JB OTA Leak - Calls bluetooth OK (P3100)
First of all, the Development forums throughout the site are for development releases, not questions. Q&A forums are the correct place for all questions.
Secondly, as explained above there is no "best rom". Try several and see what suits you best. You can easily spend time reading what has already been written about them and make educated decisions from that.

Hey guys,
I've been an HD2 owner for a year in 2011 and regret selling it for an Atrix. I'd like to buy an HD2 again but I've got two questions regarding Android :
- Has the "no sound" bug in CM7 and MIUI been solved for good ? When I was using it, it would happen that pciking up a phonecall would give a "ssshhh" sound that needed a battery pull to be fixed.
- How are ICS and JB running in terms of speed ? The jump from Gingerbread to ICS on the Xperia Ray I got which has somewhat similar performances was painful. With more than 20 apps installed, you would really feel the hardwarde limits. Is this the case for the HD2 ?
Thanks !
I've tried like 50 ROMS & so far the better ones are running from NATIVESD, almost most of the roms normal features are running fine now & your good to go.
have a look at the links below & see how it goes.
Hi all,
I do hope I am asking it in the right place (I didn't want to make a new thread at first, but the closest one I found was locked, so...).
I am willing to buy a Xiaomi MI2S phone. I already know it is only be sold in China (that isn't a problem, actually). I am mostly interested in the 32Gb version, it has really awesome specs.
I have been making a lot of research about this phone and, from what I've seen so far, feedback is positive. That is comforting, to me, but on the same page, I am directly addressing towards people who actually own this phone (or at least have tried it), what are its fails ? Is that phone as perfect as it looks ? Are there some serious flaws/inconveniences with it ?
Second, I also know that the device comes with a specific ROm (MIUI, available in both English and Chinese). I am totally fine with that, as I had a previous positive experience with MIUI roms. But I'd also like to know if, actually, it is possible to customize the phone ? I mean bootloader unlock, root ? Are there some custom roms (well I do mean Cyanogen support, or Cyanogen ports) for Xiaomi MI2S ? These aspects remains a bit unclear, and any piece of information would be much appreciated.
Thanks reading.
i'm willing to buy this phone too. When my good old LG O2x wil die (Can happen every minute ) So i also did some research.
In my langauge (Dutch) There is a lot of information about it. there is a topic on tweakers.net with lots of users who own the device. They are all very happy with it. Here you go... Ok, it's dutch.. But with the use of a translator.. I guess you can get some interesting things out of it. If not.. I could translate some pieces of text for you to english. Just PM me. Not the whole forum of course
About the ROM's. For as far as i know.. There are still no roms without MIUI.. But i'm not suprised if there are roms without MIUI. Maybe in china..
That's all i can help you with atm..
Good luck with researching
miui was modify from cm
and no other rom for mi2s now.
Hello,
I know is my first post here, but i own a MI2 (almost same specs as MI2S, last one using krait processor, better camera) since december this year.
So far nothing to complain about:
- with MIUI V5 battery last 2 full days (wi-fi on, push e-mail on, gps on)
- gps accurate about 2-3 meters
- no problem with gsm/3G signal
- display is very sharp, resistant to scratches, maybe some kind of ACG glass (drop it few times on the concrete, last time i forgot it on the top of my car and i go only plastic frame around display deform)
- sometimes it`s shut off by himself (dunno why, maybe i mess around with secondary recovery partition when it was on MIUI V4)
- no laggy at all (over 72 apps instaled)
- overall a good phone, and i like it
- i use it with the native rom and i get via OTA some updates at 2-3 weeks
sorry for my bad english, hope that helps
buy

According to the people i refered to in my previous post..www.ibuygou.com is the best shop for the Xiaomi Mi2S device, when it comes to shipping. Some people in holland say that it takes only 1 day to ship, others complain that it takes more than 3 weeks. It depends on the amount of devices they have in stock.
The prices are great btw, 300 euro / 400 dollar for the 16gb, 350 euro / 450 dollar for the 32gb variant. And max 20 dollars for import
They also have accesoires like back covers, cases, batteries etc.
How fast is the GPS locking on the Mi2S?
This is really the perfect phone, with the exception it doesnt have LTE (does it?)
I had a mi 2
Its the best smartphone in 4.3" formfactor
Fast, stable
Very good camera
Long lasting akku on (gps wlan, edge)
Out of the box fast and stable no need for custom rom
Beside miui there is a stockandroid rom with english and chinese language
Cons
3g akku drain
Thick and high weight in comparison to s3, htc one
Bad support in fact of defect or something
Sometimes bad reception
Sometimes microphone issues ( mayve only my device)

Hi all,
First of all, thanks for the positive feedback.
Well, Ibuygou seems to be a popular (and good) choice as a way to purchase the phone.
I'll consider that. Thanks for the tip.
Well, I still don't have much information about the second part of the question though. I am looking for information in the actual state-of-art on modding the phone : is there some safe ways for bootloader unlock, phone rooting ? Are there custom roms actually for Xiaomi devices, or at least, devs working on that ?
These aspects still remain a bit unclear to me, and i'd like to be enlighten on this.
Thanks in advance.
PS: Well it seems i missed natoleon's answer on that:

There is no developers support due to lack of source code for the kernel as they refuse to follow the GPL laws. Also. Ok real development team has any respect for the MIUI crew as it is well known they take code from others and don't give anything back. For the these reasons this device will not see any development or forums here.
Wayne Tech Nexus
You can find a AOSP for Xiaomi Mi2/Mi2S here. It uses the same kernel though.

Hi, thanks for your prompt reply....
i heard a rumor that Mi3 is getting launched by august 16th... is that true ? also with full HD & octa core CPU ?
above all it is priced at 320$ !!!
I am very excited & i am kind of lets wait no matter even if the earthquake happens.... what should i do man ???
Hi,
I it's up to you.
The question is, do you want BIG and heavy phone (MI3, 5" screen, fullHD) or relatively small but still veeery fast (Mi2S, 4,3" screen, 720p).
Both phones are so fast that rest of parameters doesn't matter, you don't feel the difference....
I am very happy that MI2S have only 4,3" screen, not 4,5" or bigger because I want "compact" but fast phone with 2GB ram.
So I don't care about MI3.

Hello together,
hope that this is the correct place to ask for a well working ROM for my OP 8 Pro.
I have been informed that the former CEO from OP has left and the new owner is niw making meeeeeeh OP Phones - what a shame - and because of this I want to switch to a custom ROM.
Problem is that I haven't found any good images in some ROM threads. It would be nice to get some images.
It's a bit hard to look things up on the phone but I have currently no PC access, sadly.
I have test some of them, and in all of them fingerprint sensor works not as stock rom. In stock in read immidietly, on custom i must touch few times, finaly must enter pin, this is very annoying. Best on my opinion is AICP 16.1.

AICP 16.1 is my rom also. They have a 17.1 version (Android 12) but it doesn't have as many tweaks as 16.1. Android 12 in general doesn't have very after market tweaks since it is so new also. I think 16.1 is more stable also.

Carl Pei was the creator and super master mind with Oneplus until his departure. He has now started a company called Nothing and produced his first Nothing phone available 7-16-2022 to buy. See https://us.nothing.tech/pages/phone-1 for more info.
Oneplus is still a good phone but has entered the main stream with top end specs mostly. The original intent of Oneplus was to have a medium spec'ed phone for a reasonable price.
