[Q] [Fixed] struggling flashing Eclipse v1.1 - Droid RAZR M Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

okay guys so i recently destroyed my headphone jack and received a new XT907 via mail today. immediately i obtained root access (verified with root checker) and installed safestrap 3.12 succussfully. installed recovery, partitioned 1 gb for data and created rom slot one successfully. wiped cache/dalvik and installed the eclipse rom successfully. rebooted and now i bootlooped on the eclipse boot animation. so i thought no problem ill just reboot and wipe system and try again. so i did so and again, wiped cache/dalvik and re-installed Eclipse on rom slot 1. finally i get past the eclipse boot animation and got to the screen where it says "android is upgrading" and lists the apps '"/128 yeah i think there was 128 of them but anyways so it successfully upgrading them and now i am on the screen displaying "Android is upgrading" "starting apps." with the little loading wheel next to starting apps. i am currently stuck on this screen. Its been over 7 full minutes since i was typing this out and waiting for something to happen. i wiped everything and tried one more time and once again i am stuck at this part... any suggestions on why this might be occurring? I had absolutely no problem installing eclipse on my old phone and i am doing nothing different what-so-ever... i could really use your assistance guys! thanks

Does it do the same thing with a ROM like BDH?

Re: [Q] struggling flashing Eclipse v1.1
Yes I literally just tried bdh to check. I am using safe strap v3.11 (TWRP v2.2.2.1) just want to confirm I'm okay with that right? I am all out of ideas.

Where did you get the safestrap from? The RAZR Forum? or here?
http://www.droidrzr.com/index.php/t...ery-v31-0104-312-stock-flashing-all-versions/
Because the one from xda RAZR forum is not the most recent for the RAZR M...
The RAZR M is 3.12 not 3.11...
This link (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1391900) is not correct.

I'll literally go through step by step what I did in a nutshell. I know I mentioned most above but I really wanna solve this. Got the phone. Got root, installed safe strap with the link I just posted. Installed recovery. Put eclipse and bdh on root SD.partitioned 1gb. Wiped data/cache and wiped dalvik. Navigated to eclipse. Installed successfully. Wiped cache/dalvik once again (wiped data too after many tries) rebooted phone. I immediately bootloop on the eclipse animation. I hold volume down + power to power off. I go back to safe strap and wipe dalvik/cache once more. It then s
Gets passed the boot loop but then I'm stuck on "starting apps" as mentioned above... wtf is going on!! Lol

No problem at all I appreciate it. That's the thing.. I like to consider myself moderately knowledgeable about this stuff and I rarely ask big questions like this but I really simply don't understand why its not working.. like its getting ridiculous. Also very annoying

make sure that the only custom recovery you have installed is safestrap 3.12, people have been having trouble installing ROMs because they have more then one recovery installed..
if it helps, delete slot 1 and start fresh again.
if that doesn't work.. launch the safestrap application and uninstall recovery (make sure you've deleted slot 1 first)
and then uninstall the app, and then you can install safestrap again... open the app install recovery and now you can try installing Eclipse again. hope it helps.

I'm downloading the file as is onto my computer. I'm not touching it/extracting anything. I then put it on the root of SD card like your supposed to and flashing from there.

choosing the external storage option did not work.
so yeah make sure that you put it in the internal storage and then choose the internal storage option.

[Q] Blade hangs on boot, but can get CWM

Ive got a fairly new (old stock!) Blade that I have flashed using Swedish Snow RLS7 which has been working fine...no problems.
This week I turned the phone on and it gets as far as the Android boot screen (green robot, but NOT as far as the boot animation) and then reboots.
I *can* get in to Clockwork and have tried wiping all settings and reflashing the ROM. These processes all complete successfully, but the phone still does the same reboot cycle.
Any ideas what the problem might be here?
thanks
mike
Have you tried reflashing the recovery?

Thanks for the reply. I reflashed to the latest recovery and tried a different ROM. Unfortunately I get the same problem.....green Android boot logo which appears for about 20s, distortion/flickering at the end of this period and then a reboot. Recovery works fine.
I'm wondering if this is somehow graphics related......
I don't really think that it's graphic-related. I've had very similiar problem with my Blade, fixed it with this.

[Q] [HELP] Bricked RAZR M computer won't recognize and deleted the OS

I tried to install the PACman ROM on my RAZR M. I was rooted, had safestrap recovery and did everything right untill it came to actually flashing. I wiped everything (cache, dalvik, system, and reset). Then I went to install, I Couldn't find the file that need to be flashed. I went through every thing in what I downloaded but it wouldn't except anything. Then i decided to reboot, not knowing I had deleted the OS. I thought "whatever, I can still get into fastboot and flash back to normal." Oh boy was I wrong! Now I can't get into fastboot OR safestrap. Also, the computer won't recognize my phone.
I used this PACman ROM download: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2306377
Can you guys help with this? This is the first time tried to flash a custom ROM

PAC can only be installed via TWRP.
see if you can add it to your external SD card via your PC, then insert the card into your phone and try flashing it that way.
Try downloading a lower OS of android for your phone and flash that, then do a system update. Also PAC can be installed with Clockwork mod because I'm running PAC right now, flashed using clockwork mod.

So you have no way of accessing recovery at all? I was going to say that you could put the OS on a SD card and flash. But I'll look it up. I'm not exactly sure. I've never had the issue like this. Rom flashed perfect for me.

Yup, no way of accessing my recovery. The only way of powering on is to hold the power/volume up/ down, then I get the bootloader warning message. After that I get the safestrap boot logo which says "Safestrap Disabled". When I push recovery it shuts off again, and when I push continue it shuts off again because their is no OS.
Isn't PACman rom for unlocked bootloaders?

If your bootloader was unlocked, why were you using safestrap? And can you get into fastboot?
Sent from my XT907 using xda premium
Right.. That could have caused the issue because PACman is for unlocked.. I'm running clockwork mod recovery mainly because for some reason team win doesn't work.. Either way if your phone gets fixed get a new recovery.. Safestrap is for locked bootloaders.

[Q] Please help, stuck in Clockwork Recoverymod boot

The other day I recieved a notification on my phone that there was a new update available for my LG Optimus L5's SW, and after my phone downloaded the update package it rebooted and went directly to Clockworkmod Recovery instead of installing the update. Now I can't seem to boot the phone normally as it will boot directly to CWM. I have searched in similar threads, I have tried reflashing a rom into it, putting it on download mode (not emergency because it didn't seem to work), wiping cache, fixing permissions, and still there is no luck. Is there any way to fix this problem? By the way I'm using an e610, my android version was 4.1.2 and the ROM I used to root the phone was 20d, with CWM 6.0.2.8.

Cool, you will want to let your setup sit a few days to settle whenever changing roms or kernels , they will burn fast for a bit. If you have stuff to auto sync all the time and gps on that will drain it fast

Wipe cache, dalvik, data & system.
Mount system, install rom.
Reboot. Do anything. Check if it reboots.
Then reboot to recovery.
Flash a pico gapps. Reboot.
Then check again.
I don't have problem with ls. I've been using it ever since it came out.
