I am running the latest CM10.1 nightly and recently I have been having a constant issue with the Amazon App Store. I constantly need to relogin to the app store and it appears that according to Amazon the device is showing up as a new device IE Nexus 4 1, Nexus 4 2, etc.
Anyone else having these issues or have a fix?

Should be a problem with the app rather than the ROM.
Are you flashing new nightlies every day?
I noticed this with flashing roms on my phones. The Amazon App thinks it's a "new" phone and adds it like that.
Be sure to delete all the duplicates in your amazon account. There's a limit. Same thing happens with my bluetooth in my car and Play Music app.

Yes clear your devices out of your amazon account.

This has been reported in other threads but no here.
Beginning Tuesday, the Android Market will be known as the Google Play Store. Google's eBookstore and recently launched music service will also be part of the Google Play Store. The same selection of books, music and movies had already been available on Android Market. Sounds nice, but whats behind the shiny chrome?
any way of forcing the update? Tried the old clearing data/cache/fc-ing, reboot ....but to no avail. am I to assume we must wait for it to roll out?
Google says that the update will roll out in the next days

49 Cent apps to celabrate.
My phone just auto-updated. Just had to re-accept the EULA and it was just like the normal market. Not sure about my TF since it is at home right now.
Mine just got updated.

thanks installed just fine
I'll have to get used to this. The icon and the new spot in the app drawer will throw me off for a few days

Mine updated also. I like the old name better
yeah they should have kept the name but just merged the other services.
Just completed the Dexter Mod to allow Google Play on my A7.
All appears working fine, except that Google play will not allow me to purchase any apps. I get an Error ("An error occurred, please try again"), everytime I touch the price button on any app or music.
I've rebooted the device without clearing the issue.
Any ideas?
Oh yeah, this device is not on Googles list of supported devices.
Thanks
Update - Still no joy. Free aps download, but cannot buy
I decided to try to re-do the mod.
I first went to Google and deleted all my accounts.
I did the Dexter mod again from scratch and set up a new Google Acct after the reboot.
Going to Google Play updated the Android Marketplace to Play Store on the tablet.
Using Google Play I still cannot buy an app, but I can download a free one. There are only two apps listed anyway. Missle Command which I cannot buy for $0.99 and 8Track, a music app which is free and downloaded fine.
The first time I did this there were a bizillion apps available, although I could get to none of them.
Any ideas here?
***** Another Update: I discovered I can buy apps using Play Store through my PC for the A7 which upload fine, but still not directly thru the A7
Another Update: Success
Seems like after waiting a while and not using the tablet's Play Store, when finally returning, I have a full list of games and apps.
I also just successfully downloaded a free game (Angry Birds Space) directly from the A7.
This is good news!
I had read elsewhere that on another tablet (Samsung, I believe), ignoring the Play Store app on the tablet for a while would eventually alloe it to work properly.
Seems like that's the case here.
Wow, quiet group here! Lots of views on both of my current threads and not a single comment. I know everyone was just waiting for me to figure it out myself ;<)
Dexter has more than a dozen Mods for at least 3 OS on at least 6 platforms. Probably that is the reason that no one replied ??

I haven't been in this forum in a while just pop in once in a while, might find better help for the a7 at tabketroms.com, but any ways have you tried clearing the cache and data of the google play store in your settings?
Thanks for the recommendation on the other site. Everything works fine, but the device is listed as not supported by a great majority of the apps. It's kind of a worthless tablet, at least it was free.

Thanks for the suggestion. I think I'll just let this one die a quiet death.
Hey guys/gals
I side-loaded the new Amazon app for tablets (found the .apk in the Nexus 7 forum) and have been using it for the past few days. When I opened my data usage today I found something interesting:
Apparently the Amazon app has used up almost 10GB of background data in 4 days??? Not sure if this is an Android bug and reporting of data usage is horribly wrong or if the app is doing something very crazy that I am not aware of. I do not stream movies/tv/music on this device, I have only used the app to browse a few items that I was considering purchasing.
Crazy. Anyone else using this app and see this? Thankfully, I wasn't tethering during any of this. Needless to say, I have now disabled Amazon background data.
have you ever bought anything on amazon (music, videos, apps) that could have been auto-downloaded?

Nope. No instant video or music. As I said, I only used the app to browse sales from this past weekend. Odd indeed.
Never had this problem on any other devices, but the amazon app store won't stay signed in on my n7.
Every time I try to use it, I have to sign in cold. This effects a couple apps I purchased from them since they need that account open to validate ownership.
Anyone else see this?
search for the other similar thread .. There is a link to the new amazon app that fixes this issue...
It should be updated from amazon...

You're using an old version of the app that's incompatible with JB 4.2. Update it, and then, on your computer, go to your Amazon account and delete the multiple instances of your tablet that were registered as new devices each time you signed into the app.

Are you abroad at the moment? If you have a wifi only nexus 7 device, market is tailored to each specific country you are accessing the play store through. That could be the reason why you can access it on your phone because you are using a provider from a country that has access to those google features. Not all countries have access to movies or books from the google market.
I am in the UK. i havent changed anything afaik. and the fact that certain things are one phone but not tablet. im rooted and bootloader unlocked using the latest stock build

Odd then. Well if you are up for it, a possible solution to dance around the problem (although it doesn't necessarily solve it...) would be to follow this guide to gain access to those services again: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=28259205#post28259205
Your device is already rooted so that saves you one big step. It's simply a way to get around Play store blocks on its features, so it will *maybe* fix your problem since its the Play store that is preventing your device from accessing google movies and books.
