Does anyone know how to customize the text message pop-up so the only option that it lists is to "reply" (instead of also having "read" and "call")? I had the ability to do that on one of the roms I was on, but I can't remember which one. I'm on Liquid now and have been on PA and Slim lately and none of them have that option in the SMS settings, as far as I can tell.
Thanks in advance...

The ROM was probably AOKP. I'm sure you can pull the MMS apk from it and use it in another ROM of your choice.

Cool, thanks man
If not AOKP then definitely CyanogenMod as it was developed for that. It's called QuickReply so you can check there if not AOKP (which is a clone of CM right?)

Oh, okay cool. Can you tell me how to take the apk out of one rom and put it in another?
Sent from my Nexus 4 using xda premium
Either you extract it from the ZIP file and place it in the new one then flash or
adb pull /system/app/MMS.apk (from CM10.1 installed on your phone)
then
adb push /system/app/MMS.apk (to the phone you want it on)
Or a combination of both the above (ripping from the ZIP then pushing it with ADB). Not entirely sure it can work though as some stuff might be linked to the Framework.apk however.

Download either ROM and use root explorer to copy the apk from the ROM zip to your phone. Reboot and voila.

cTouch
By Sepherian
No Phone, Just Captivate
Info: I have removed most of the phone files from the following ROM(s) to turn them basically into a cTouch (captivateTouch)
Phone Files I have Removed: Phone, Messaging, Modem, and any Icons related to a signal has been degraded to ONE pixel. Looks pretty goood.
Directions to flash:
1: NANDROID BACKUP
2: Download your ROM to your SD Card
3: Reboot into recovery, wipe data + cache
4: Install the rom
5: If Rom bootloops retry step 4
6: Prophet?
How I will be updating:
I will evolve the method I use to edit and Build these ROM(s) over time. So they will be labeled by V2 or V3, and the name of the rom will remain the same.
Also, the ROM(s) will update shortly after the developer updates it. (About a week or so)
CM9 and 10 (if they end up being supported) will be updated when I feel like it.
Rom(s) Built so far: (Please read all three posts before downloading)
Superbean 2.8.17 Built by Nygfan760 Download: Click here
If you donate to me, put your xda name and a rom you would like cTouch-inized in the memo and I will put it at the top of my list to finish (even before updates)
Fixes:
For ALL:
Apply Airplane mode AT ALL TIMES. If it is on you should see a little CT in your notification bar. If it is off, your antenna will be on and wasting your battery. For no reason because you don't want this phone as a phone.
Bugs:
For SuperBean:
If you go to Mobile Network settings, the application will crash. This will happen if you long-press airplane or data toggles because those settings are under Mobile Data
And again...
First!

EDIT: There will be an update coming soon if all goes well. If all does not go well, I'll add another ROM to the Ctouch project instead. Any suggestions?
Works pretty well, although the phone app still exists. There are force closes from phone storage on boot. I was going to install titanium but there is no play store. Not very useful without it. I will try grabbing the latest jellybean gapps and pull the play store from that.
----------
Edit: pulled latest gapps for jb from cm wiki. Installed PhoneSky.apk and play store works like a charm. Why in the hell is it called PhoneSky? Backed up, froze, and un installed phone/messaging storage and have no more force closes from it. Did the same to Guard since it handles call and sms blocking, and also com.android.smspush. Everything is working well, going to figure out how to get rid of the phone app now.
----------
Edit 2: As I'm sure you've already figured out, the Phone "app" is just an intent sent to the Contacts app, and I don't think removing contacts would be a good idea...I did find this though: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/5812909/removing-android-phone-app

If this ROM is based off of MIUI.... perhaps just CM10/AOKP with no phone functions? I'm looking to turn my phone into a mini tablet/music player for my brother when i get a new phone.
Im looking for the gn2 messaging style app for gs4.
I know they have it on freegs4 rom, but im running force.
itd be awesome to get that,
also, when are we going to get call recording, and flashlight toggle!!!
Pull the one you want from free rom, rename the force one with bak after .apk. push the free one and set permissions and reboot. Should work fine, make a nandroid before, just in case

ive got the apk on my desktop, i know how to change permissions once in my /system,
but i cant get the .apk to copy over, what do i need to do for that?

There is an option to turn the flashlight on by long pressing the brightness icon.

according to other users, it doesn't work on force rom, or any rom for that matter.
as a matter of fact, the op says not to use with any rom, just for stock rooted.
but thanks for trying anyways!

I seem to like the stock ROM the best but would love to be able to theme it a little... specifically like the soft key color, always on menu key, time color, battery icon... could I pull the systemui.apk from a ROM uninstall the stock rename it to .bak place the one pulled from the ROM where it goes install that one and be able to accomplish what I'm looking to do? What would be the best way to do so if not without buying an app that does what I seek...

I've been trying to read up on how to build a ROM but all the links I come across are outdated. .. none the less I'm going to figure it out I hope... if anyone could point me to a good "how to" on building ROMs with a win 7 machine I would be very greatful everything I find say I need a Mac or Linux machine... thank you kindly for your time...

Hey all--please bear w me as I've been busy with work all year and have not been able to get back on xda since "Jellybean days". Now I've flashed a KK rom & I'm really not digging Hangouts as my default SMS app, so I'm nandroiding back to 4.3
Question: Is there any way I can use 7-zip to put mms.apk into my rom zip before flashing it? Can I set mms.apk as my default messaging app that way? This is the only thing keeping me from upgrading to 4.4 currently so I'd appreciate the info

You can change your default messaging app by going to settings>more>default SMS app. Kitkat for the N4 comes with a water downed version of the previous messaging app. You can install a different one and set it as default as long as it has the proper permissions to run on Kitkat.

I just installed the S4 Super ROM (TW)(Acheron), and I am loving it. The only thing I miss from the stock TW is the ability to add numbers to an Auto-reject list. That feature was apparently stripped from the ROM. Can someone identify which .apk does Auto Call-reject so I can find and reload it? I'd post to the dev's thread but due to less than 10 posts am blocked from doing so.
Thanks!

That is what I would like to be able to do. However, the "call rejection" option is missing. "setup call rejection messages" is at the top of the list. Is it just me? I assumed that all SuperS4 users are missing this option.
If I were to copy and replace sec.contacts.apk and or sec.phone.apk from another S4 TW rom, perhaps a stock version, would I potentially blow things up, or is that pretty safe?
