Hi,
recently my Nexus 7 got shutdown due to battery over,
and its appeared to be that when i am trying to turn it on it is getting stuck on the google logo stage,
so i have tried getting into recovery mode and doing a factory reset and wipe the device,
but, as soon as i am entering the recovery mode i am getting "booting failed" error and popped again to the boot menu.
i have also tried performing a flush using the SDK but i am unable to unlock the device, no matter how i am trying to.
i am getting an error saying "unlock failed (unknown error)".
So... have anyone encountered such problems and managed to fix it?
help me.. i am desperate
i was actually thinking why haven't i bought an I-pad.. but that thought passed right away
thanks in advance..

i think i might be lucky this time. i tried to restore my phone like over 10 times but it always error at 76%. the next day i tried again but in my mind i dont think it will work and at that moment i was on the phone talking to Dell technical support if they can give me any advise and when i get back to the laptop the restoration still running and i got my phone back. i dont really know what exactly you should do, i tried eveything i found but nothing work. so if you get problem like me dont be so upset, patient and you got it back somehow, i hope
Hello I just go my S4 today. I downloaded goomanager because I wanted to install TWRP. It did not work. Now when I try to reset back to factory settings I keep getting a screen that says downloading do not turn off target. How can I fix this and get it back to the normal recovery mode?
i have no idea what carrier or device (i337 / i337m) you have.
when you got your device did you check in settings to see what build number you were running and then check out the material on xda before proceeding? there's ways of doing things that can save you headaches if you browse and read first. cheers
Dude, you pretty much hosed your new phone by not doing your home work before messing with it. I'm sure you're on mf3 firmware. Your best hope is to get it re-flashed at a bestbuy with the Samsung experience. You'll have some explaining to do! Good luck!

You can probably get it to boot by pushing vol down when it goes to download mode. But your recovery is messed up now.
To the OP
I have the same issue. I manage to reboot the phone by turning it off, holding the power and volume down buttons, then when it asks if I'm sure I want to install a custom ROM, I hot cancel (volume down) and it reboots like normal.
Right now, I'm just trying to get mine back into ecovery so I can install CM

You're not going to be able to get it into recovery. Bestbuy is your best solution. Or wait until if and when an odin flashable firmware is available.
Im getting out of it that way too. But if I ever want to update or anything this will stop me i think. I can use it for now but I really want to fix it. nothing worse than having a phone for an hour and ****ing it up.

No, it has to be mf3 firmware and it's not currently available. Trying to flash an earlier firmware won't work. There is a qfuse in the phone's circuitry that is blown when mf3 is on the phone which won't let you downgrade.
Edit, I feel sorry for you man, messing up your phone in the first hour. You're not the only one. Here is what others have done. Read it all it might help. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=45359306

Sorry to say, but you'll be wasting your time. You'll find that there have been many, many people in the same boat for months now and the only current solution is if you can get bestbuy to re-flash it. They and att are the only ones who have the firmware available.

No, but you'll have to ask nicely and they may not do it if they see you tried to flash a recovery. Bring the phone in on download mode and tell them it froze while using kies.

Hey... I jacked up my phone installing a custom recovery with GooManager too. It isn't for our phone. To get back to Android from DL mode just do power button+vol up+home and it will send ya back. Take it to Best Buy and say Kies broke your phone. You were trying to run an update and it messed it up. They can fix it for ya. Obviously you're rooted so just delete Superuser.apk and delete all root apps. Just in case. And don't be a derp and tell them the phone was rooted... Good Luck.
(Go back and hopefully they won't remember you.)

Hey guys,
The inevitable has happened: I've finally bricked a device that I can't seem to find the solution to online. Here's what happened:
1. When I got the phone a little over a week ago, I accidentally "broke" the recovery by trying to install CWM through Rom Manager. Turns out that's not something you generally want to do. Oops.
2. I got lazy and put off restoring the stock recovery, instead choosing to deal with the stock launcher.
3. Today, while dealing with the 50th pop-up for the OTA update, I accidentally pressed "Install Now" instead of "Install Later"
Now, when it boots, it briefly shows the LG logo before displaying an all-black screen with small white text reading:
[730] Fastboot mode started
[780] udc_start()
I get a little bit more text when I plug it into my PC. I've been trying to fix it for the past three hours - I've tried countless solutions, but nothing seems to work.
Can anyone out there give me some advice? I'd greatly appreciate it.

Will this work even though I don't have a recovery? The instructions I found (these: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2448960 ) definitely sound as though they were created with a working phone, and some of the instructions linked still imply they have TWRP.
Thanks for any help, I really appreciate it. I feel like I can get this working, it's just going to take some time (something I don't have a lot of, as I'll be camping all weekend).

So... I followed the guide I posted earlier. It talks about entering download mode, which I'm not able to do, and my phone isn't seen in Device Manager as "LGE AndroidNet for VZW..." (Oddly, it's seen as a "SAMSUNG Android Phone," and under that is "USB Modem Phone ADB port").
When I unplugged and replugged the phone back in, trying to enter download mode even though I haven't been successful with that, nothing happened. LG Flash says it's ready, but nothing activated.
Help??
When it says it's ready unplug it while in download mode and plug it back in.. Make sure you have the ports set right

After 6+ hours of work, I finally have my phone up and running again. Thank you so, so much antawnm. You're awesome for helping me through this. Though that link provided wasn't perfect (it was for the Korean model) it provided me with enough clues to combine it with everything else you sent me and some files I found in a directory (especially the recovery.img file for the VZW LG G2) to get back right to where I was.
The funniest part was, after the phone rebooted itself and I got back to my home screen, the phone informed me that my software update was unsuccessful. I genuinely laughed.
Thanks again.

Hello...
Read this post: https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=71805763&postcount=343
If your device is in the state described in this post, it is likely dead. You need to RMA your device.
Otherwise if your issue is different, answer a few questions to help diagnose the issue:
What happened..?
What did you try to fix it?
What build are you currently on?
Is your bootloader unlocked?
Do you have access to recovery yet?
Good luck...
If you aren't in a boot loop of death you should be able to fix your phone by doing a factory reset. Power down your phone by holding down the power button. Go into the bootloader menu by pressing power and volume down at the same time. Use the volume keys to find the factory reset option and select it. Good luck. I'm pretty sure all of these phones will permanently boot loop at some point because there is a serious design flaw, probably with solder that can't withstand the heat the phone generates like on the LG phones. Hopefully your 6P isn't there yet but flashing an OTA frequently triggers it.

Hello... Did it start bootlooping after a 7.1.1 OTA? So you unlocked your.bootloader? If yes, it wiped all your data... And now your phone still bootloop right?
Then reboot into recovery, press power and tap volume up when you see the Android guy laying.
From the menu, select factory reset. Try to reboot and see.if that helps.
If it still doesn't work, try to flash a stock firmware from here: https://developers.google.com/android/images#angler
And extract the zip a d open the folder
Reboot into bootloader. From here, openn the flash-all.bat and let it install the new firmware. It will reboot when it's done flashing.
Hopefully a factory reset will suffice to solve the issue. Let us know if it works... :good:
Good luck...

Hello...
Sorry to read that. Only way now seems to have your phone repaired. I don't know if you're still covered, but don't let Google or Huawei charge you if your warranty is already ended. The issue is well known and you shouldn't pay for their mistakes!
If you don't get a positive answer from the first person, tell him/her you are going to think about it and end the call. Call back one or two days later. You'll likely speak to another tech. Retry as much as needed. A lot of people who insisted have had their phone repaired/replaced for free that way. Try escalating the case to a supervisor if needed. Don't give up until you succeed, because that's all they are waiting for!
Sorry again, good luck...

No known way to do that here that I've seen - would probably require tools that only Huawei repair depots have.

hold power plus volume down with the phone hooked to the PC to enter the bootloader
from the bootloader you can use fastboot boot recovery twrp.img
from twrp you can flash a stock rom
you can't remove the unlocked bootloader message
