Rom close to stock - Nexus 4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

What's a rom that's pretty close to stock but has performance options built into the launcher and has an option to show weather on lockscreen.

Umm, you can get chronus clock for any ROM. I've never seen a launcher with built in performance settings. I have seen a settings.apk with built in performance. But it was built into CM and ROMs based on CM.

Cross fire X is right up your ally.
Only open source additions. No fluff...
Cm10.1 is probably more stock than it though.

Curious why you want the stock AOSP launcher... It provides no features no settings, and can possibly be slower than one of the launcher apps.
I haven't tried Slim ICS so idk what launcher they use, but I would recommend NOVA LAUNCHER, its pure ICS and if you don't want to change anything you don't have to tons of settings though.
Slim uses Zeam by default and IMO it's snappier. I just don't like the options it offers

oh well then I suggest you try out Nova Launcher if you want a more AOSP launcher along with plenty of features.
Idk yet. The script tweaks plus build.prop tweaks and gpu made the launcher run buttery smooth. I want to replicate the galaxy nexus expierence

Here's the stock launcher (launcher2.apk). I pulled it from ICZen.

put it in /system/app and make the permissions rw-r--r-- like the other system apps. reboot. You might have to clear the default setting for Zeam in manage apps and reboot again.
Thank you.

Tablet UI ?

Are there any custom roms that have true tablet UI. I've tried three or 4 different ones and there all the scrappy stock UI

Paranoid Android does. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=29418878
Have you also tried changing the DPI to 160 in build.prop and changing settings/system/font size to make text readable?

Have you tried Paranoid Android? It allows complete customization of UI's for different apps including system UI. It's not a tablet mode ROM but it allows you to put systemUI in Tablet UI. Read up on it in Original Development. Version 2.0 should come out soon so if you are interested, I'd just wait for it to be released.
SGT7, EOS, PA*, Stock with the mod. Any ROM at 160DPI

You CAN do that but simply not with the stock locksreen. On Custom ROMs it is more like a basic change in lockscreen.
You can use a Locker app as WidgetLocker or LockBot etc.etc.
Solution
On stock ROM you can but you just need to be rooted and xposed framework to be installed on your device! Try xbalst tools which is an amazing module available for download for free in the xposed framework and there are a number of options available in xlocky option in Xblast tools!
Xposed gravitybox module offers this.

This is always down to personal preferences, and for me this means Carbon ROM.
It has all the customizations that I want, and it's pretty snappy.

How can I apply this setup?

Is there a way - Xposed module, app, ROM tweak download - to get my notification screen to look as the one in the attached picture? Some love them, but to me tiles suck. Would love icons on the smaller side, with more than one row of icons, and a brightness slider.
Currently running EuroSkank KitKat, CM 11.

possibly using 3minit
Ummm, I don't think you will pull it off with 3minit. Might need to run and aosp or CM based rom to have that natively.
One thing you might try though is this app
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=de.j4velin.notificationToggle
I was able to get this setup with the Liquid Smooth ROM (see pic attached). The only other ROMs that feature similar notification screens are MIUI and Chameleon OS.
Any Xposed Framework mods that you know of?
