I replaced the keypad flex of my hd2 today after it was damaged while replacing the lcd/digitizer. Everything went very smoothly but now I have a problem. I was pretty certain when I was placing the new flex into the chassis that I did everything correctly but after I assembled the phone the buttons didn't work / I couldn't feel the "click" when I pressed the buttons, so I assumed I didn't put it right. I disassembled the phone again but nothing seemed wrong with the flex, it was perfectly in position.
When I try to press the buttons on the flex cable with a screwdriver, they work, and the phone boots up with no apparent problem. When I put the keypad on, they don't. Keypad was working fine with the old/broken flex cable.
I've been trying for an hour as to figure out what i'm doing wrong, but i'm at a loss now.
Any ideas?

replace also the keypad or you miss some part between the domesheet and keypad.

Hi. My touch keys menu and back is not working, home key works. Menu and back sometimes work, mostly dont. I tried all ROM and kernels version but not improvement. I think keypad ribbon flex cable is broken GENUINE-SAMSUNG-KEYPAD-FLEX-RIBBON-CABLE??
Yesterday i opened phone and now i have low signal range.
I wonder is why my buttons dont work can it be related to flex ribbon cable malfunction?
sorry, dont know if it is related to flex ribbon cable malfunction?
But my advice is you should send the phone to Samsung for repair and not attempt repairs on it yourself.
Of course if you have the skill then you should try yourself but if you are covered under warranty then you should get it repaired.
Best of luck!
Thank you for your time.
I am from Montenegro, there is no one here who could do it.
I ordered keypad flex cable, i will try with it. If anyone has any suggestions let say
That glue used for bonding parts of the phone? Display a little air...
I have to paste his display and menu and back keys.
That glue I use?
I replaced the flex ribbon cable but menu and back is not working! Maybe touch is not working?
My friend dropped his phone and everything but the buttons at the bottom of the screen is working, I've taken it apart and messed around with the ribbon cable for the digitizer but to no avail, any help?
If you try touch test apps and touch the area between buttons, does it react?

So this was my first breakdown of a phone...my brother gave me an HD2 with a non-responsive digitizer, everything else seemed to work just fine.
I disassembled it, accidently tearing the flex cable after it gets thin and goes to the volume buttons. Anyway...I replaced the digitizer...thinking I could just modify the volume via software controls, and stupid me had previously set the hd2 to boot into magicdlr always when the phone turned on. So when I turned on the phone I couldn't do anything because it would boot into magicdlr and I had no volume buttons to scroll up and down, and the option selected was boot into windows which was not on the phone (only cm7 was at this time).
Anyway...after getting a replacement flex cable, and reassembling everything, I couldn't get the lcd to work. Backlight would light up, but no picture, no sound, just a vibrate and the backlight turning on. I tore it down, triple checked all the connections, and still the same thing
So I tried a seperate lcd assembly, tripled checked all connections, and still same issue as the above paragraph, backlight but nothing else when I try to power on. I also retried the old flex cable (the one without the volume connector) and that didn't make a difference either.
My only guess is that I messed up the lcd connector on the mainboard, even though it doesn't look visibly damaged in anyway. Does anybody have any other ideas/suggestions?? I would love to get this up and running as its been my first smartphone project...I've done lots of works on desktops and laptops but never smartphones.

This is my suspicion too!Even not visible at first sight, try again with a magnifier!
Good luck!
Yesterday I was working on my HTC HD2, flashed WP7 Mango on it, and opened it again to align the plastic keys with the hardware keys undeneath. It didn’t really work out, so I carefully seperated the digitizer from the display to realign theglass abovethe keys. Now The keys work perfectly, but the screen doesn’t react anymore. I have no clue what could’ve went wrong, the digitzer flex cable is still perfect, aswell are the others which connect the screen to the motherboard. Anyone have a clue what could’ve went wrong? I hope it can get fixed easily
I’ll try to hold the ‘end call key’ while using the display. Seems like that will help to entight the connection.
Fix: So I took the Display out again and checked the connection of the digitizer at the back of the screen. It was loose. So i've put it in place and fixed the connection with some extra tape.
Hi,
I tried changing the digitizer on my phone myself. It went fairly smoothly and was working great until it came time to reattach the rear assembly (the part with the speaker on it).
The phone will not boot up while the rear assembly is attached, but when it is not attached it starts normally. If I leave it running and try to attach it the power cuts.
Any suggestions? Seems like it is shorting something out but I really have no idea what.
