*Extended Checklist for Error Analysis in DiXperia 9 'Magnificent' Installation Process, check here before posting:
Read along the Instructions, if you cant go on at one point, write a post like "I am stuck at 3)b) and an explanation"
Don't blame me for anything that happens to your phone.
1) Basics:
a) Root your Phone using Flashtool by Binary, thread and links here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=920746, check root by lookin for superuser in appdrawer or by pluging it to your Computer and start Flashtool (should show: "Device connected [...] Root access allowed" and the panels on the top should fade in)
b) Unlock your Bootloader: After the Flashtool has recognized your Root, go on "Plug-ins" and choose "Bootloader Unlock", follow the instructions.
c) If there is no "Bootloader Unlock" option, you either have no root (step back to 1)a)) or you have a custom kernel/ ROM installed (you should know about this^^). Then you will have to flash the Stock Kernel you will find in this thread (thanks to DikeJ): http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=23868370, there is a line "kernel and baseband- .ftf file for users from 2.1" with a mediafire link, download it and flash it via flashtool, then again check if you can unlock your bootloader. If "Bootloader Unlock" is still faded out, you download "Seus Sony Ericsson Update Service" and "repair your firmware", then you can definitely unlock your Bootloader.
Info: To repair the stock firmware you dont have to turn your device on. Afterwards start over at point 1)
d) Download Rom and your desired Add-ons in the Development Thread (scroll up a few inches), either directly to your phone or to your computer, important is that you put it on your Phones MicroSD-Card (I myself created a #ROM-Folder to easily find it later), Insert it.
2) Kernel:
Download any cm10based Kernel, we suggest to use official cmX10 kernel, you will find it here: http://www.wuala.com/CMX10/Android/CM10-Kernel/?id=31,2052333,11-49,2052333,15 and put it into your "firmwares" folder inside flashtool folder. Then you enter Flashtool and choose the flasher (most left panel) and "Flashmode", then choose the cmX10 kernel and press "OK", follow the Instructions. To check if you flashed succesfully and if you unlocked your bootloader correctly, turn on your Phone, if it shows a different Logo (originally there was "Sony Ericsson"), then it was successful.
3) ROM:
Turn on your Phone and when the LED in the top right Corner lights up press the Back Button to enter Clockwordmod Recovery. There you choose "Factory Reset" (we suggest to do this in any case, otherwise it wont be possible to do a proper Analysis) and "Andvanced/ Wipe Dalvik Cache". Now you can flash the ROM, just click on "install custom .zip" and choose your directory (in my case "/#ROM/ DiXperia 9 'Magnificent'.zip") and confirm. Wait till the Progress is over and choose "Reboot System now".
[/B]4) Add-ons:[/B]
After Booting up your phone, reboot it two times (i do it because i believe in it...) and let it settle, you can play with the Preferences. I always wait at least 12 hours. Then enter the Clockwordmod Recovery like you did in point 3 and flash the Add-on in the same way you did with the ROM itself. After every Add-on reboot and wait for a few minutes. Install all the Desired Add-ons and be happy.
[/B]5) Lags and bad behaviour:[/B]
If you did not before, do it now and READ DikeJs whole Development thread, especially look at the Tips'n Tricks section. Follow it...
[/B]6) I did anything as you, godlike keenofhiphop, wrote here but I still have:[/B]
a) A black Screen after trying to boot up: Jump to point 2c) and follow the instructions,
b) No Camera: Boy, you didnt read DikeJs whole Post
c) Any other thing: [/B]Post it here.[/B]
If you find spelling Mistakes you can keep them
Thanks buddy . As I posted in DX8 before this thread created, here it is first screenshots of DX9, today I don't have more time to work on it, but theme is 100% done, just need to do research/remade of scripts/tweaks/tricks, and beta will appear for few guys. Please write here who wants future build for tests, first 3 persons with their post will be testers. More info/instructions later. Bye all!

I've checked all addons - all of them working like a charm . Now, last, final, hard step - need to make some tweaks from GB to JB if possible, and start booting system unless it fails in the meantime...We'll see ^^.

i can be a tester for ur rom....

Consider it done. Have 3 testers, it's enough. Expect some PM's guys tommorow, build is pretty stable for now, and I hope you can say the same after you get this .

You could wait sometime before releasing it because scritch would release an update soon I think.
And did you activate hw leds?

firehot_aman, why I need to wait for scritch?
About LEDs, you mean this one between buttons under the display? If yes, then my answer is - unfortunatelly not - I don't like it .
prioxxx, yup, you can call it like that if you want . There is still a lot work to do.
Can be a tester if u want to.
3 people is enough, but thank you for trying to help!
DiKeJ is back! I can't believe it! Can't wait for realese and finger crossed
I just want to mention that there has been created forum for Sony Xperia Z therefore the binaries should be expected soon (not all of them at one time, of course). DiKej, do you think you could use them in DX9? That would make our X10s and the newest DiXperia really magnificent.
AW: DiXperia 9 'Magnificent' | Discussion Thread
I think the coolest thing would be to have the lockscreen, so the framework of xperia z. As xperia z will be released with android 4.1.2 there could be the possibility that the framework fits?
I kinda hate this ringlock :/

yikimo, preety good to hear that words from someone .
Vaki, yeah, I could try it, but of course after relase, cause today I worked hard on DX9, and the best thing is, it's already ready for hit all of you, except root access (somewhere I can't make it work, Superuser is here, root is (hopefully) working, but can't get acces on any app like Titanium Backup or Root Explorer), and I don't know what I made wrong, and don't want start build all again....Need to find reason, fix it, and relase ROM (first of course give it for testers) .
keenofhiphop, we will see buddy, even if we get it working, it can be buggy on X10, or laggy. But DX9 is fast as hell in my opinion, so should fix big lags (not all, X10 isn't device for JB, you know that ).
---------- Post added at 09:03 PM ---------- Previous post was at 08:32 PM ----------
Hell yeah guys, made it! Upload of final package for testers this night, official relase still not known. Need to make edits in development thread, before anything . And Premium Users can be sure, that they're not forgotten - you will get DX9 faster . Soon, some new screenshots coming. :>

Added new screenshots, and links will be send in few minutes for 3 testers . Bye guys!

So here we go:
I installed the Main Rom first naked without any addons. I use Ferakernel JB. Booting took a bit longer than I am used to (but the animation was also better).
There was the usual login and sync things which went smooth and fast :good:.
Now, first report: it is still the old xperia home (not the one from xperia Z) and its a bit laggy with scrolling wallpaper (like it always was on my device, could be exclusively my problem).
There were only a few apps in the drawer, tested all without phone and sms (it is dark night, dont dare to call anyone) and worked fine. Free Ram: 114 mb.
Then I flashed the Google Addon package and there were all the apps i am used to delete as soon as i can download root uninstaller from market. But there was no market, so i installed it manually (had still a version on my sd :victory but it also didnt work without Google Play services. The apps in the addon were stuff like SoundSearch, News and Weather, Downloader, Browser and few more.
I have the Rom not that long so i cant say anything to performance, only that its not worse than on every other rom i tried
More will come tomorrow (so many addons) when gplay works...

Hello guys,
Im here with another guide!
Now I feel that my other guide was alright, but there was a lot of things that need updating, and I couldn't find where i had put everything. Yes, it sounds a bit starnge but as much as it may heave helped you, there was to much crammed up into 1 space. So i couldnt update like i wanted to. SO, now im back with a more, user friendly guide and more updated guide about everything you need to know about our x8/w8! *cue theme music*
What is android? This part is for people who are new to android, and their first phone is a x8. So this section is where you n00bs are gonna look:
Android is the world's most popular mobile platform. Android powers over 100000 devices. It is owned and developed by Google. It powers Smartphones and tablet computers.
It is also Linux based system/platform. Android started in 2005, but the unveiling of the Android distribution was in 2007.
Ever since then they have started to build on and on (If you know what i mean)
How many versions of Android are there?Very good question:
Officially, you have: 1.5 --->1.6 ---> 2.0 ---> 2.1 ---> 2.2 ---> 2.3 ---> 3.0 ---> 4.0
Correct me if i am wrong. Lets see, altogether there is 8!?
Which version's are compatible with the xperia x8Officially, 1.5 ---> 1.6 ---> 2.0 ---> 2.1
Sony Ericsson said that official Froyo (2.2) on the x8 just keeps making it reboot.
But our developers have made it possible to not only to run froyo (2.2) but we can run GingerBread (2.3) and just about ICS (4.0)
What is a developer?Silly question but its worth putting it in
A developer is someone who creates/builds custom Android ROM's or/and makes apps.
I myself, am working on my own project but im not gonna release it till its got the essentials complete
Here's a list of developers: (If i missed anyone out, please say so, we dont want any disrespect)

How to root1stly, rooting is what allows you to modify your phone (basically). It gives you superuser access to everything.
how to root your phone:
1st. Download superoneclick *just a quick notice, if your anti-virus finds a 'trojan horse' in that file, disable your anti-virus. The reason for that is because superoneclick is an exploit program. it needs to exploit in order to root your phone. Disable your anti-virus becuase it will mess up the process of rooting your phone*
2nd.Open Superoneclick as administrator.
3rd. Click 'root' and follow the onscreen instructions.
What is a custom ROM?A custom ROM is a Customized Android project/platform
It can be built from scratch or can be based on someone elses.
There are Many different features that it has compared to stock ROM (original android system). It could have modules, cool framework and much much more!
How do install a custom ROM?Well its Simple:
First you need to have a recovery installed: Xrecovery then flash a rom that has dual recovery so you have the special and popular ClockWorkMod recovery. Click here (thanks to zdzihu for Xrecovery) (and thanks to unic0de for clockworkmod (click here for clockworkmod) )
Once a recovery or both are installed, download the ROM you desire, then place it in your sd card. NOT in any folders, just the root of your SD CARD
once that is done, boot into your recovery, go to: choose zip ---> choose from SD CARD ---> then choose your zip. click yes, and wait.
If it does not automatically do a full wipe, do a full wipe. If your not meant to do a full wipe, then leave it. Reboot and enjoy
What is a Android Kernel?Android kernel is a linux based kernel that the phone manages its power from. it controls the power and battery on your phone. Its simply to explain i guess, but installing a custom kernel 'aint'
WARNING ABOUT UNLOCKING 2011/2012 PHONE'S BOOTLOADER'SI should have remembered about this. And so i have. Here goes. I need to tell you that about a hardware imposed danger to hard brick your Xperia X8 and W8, applies to E15i/a and E16i/a, at the attempt to unlock your bootloader boot loader!
The phones affected by the problem are units being manufactured at 11W29 and after!
To check if your device is affected by the problem follow this simple steps:
1.Turn off the phone and open it up
2.Take out the battery
3.Look at the sticker below
If the date code on the sticker reads 11W29, or any later date (11W30, 11W31, 11W32, 11W33, ...), DO NOT attempt to unlock the boot loader.
These phones ship with a revamped chipset configuration having the security hole the boot loader unlock uses effectively closed. This means that upon unlocking the boot loader your phone will end up as a hard brick - and you will have NO means to revive the phone yourselves. You either have to send it off to Sony Ericsson for repair (recommended solution) or find a phone repair shop being able to resurrect shot devices!
The symptom you will experience when unlocking the boot loader on an affected device is like this:
The boot loader unlock will most likely go through fine
At restart the phone will show NO signs of life anymore.
NO LED, NO LCD output, NO vibration.
WE HAVE WARNED YOU, YOU ARE ON YOUR OWN AT DOING STUFF TO YOUR BOOTLOADER NOW, IF YOUR X8/W8 ENDS UP IN HARD BRICK BECAUSE YOU DIDN'T FOLLOW THIS, THEN GOOD LUCK TELLING SE WHAT YOU DID. UNLESS YOUR GONNA LIE!Original thread that i got this from (thanks b.jay)
How to unlock BootloaderCheck this (Thanks for the guide nelikp
How to install a custom Kernelfirst, you need to unlock your bootloader:
Then you need to download flashtool 2.9.1 (i think you can download it through b.jay's mediafire folder)
1. Download the custom Kernel
2.put the .ftf file in flashtool ---> firmwares
3.Open flashtool
4.Click 'flash'
5.Choose your kernel
6. Follow the onscreen instructions
7: ENJOY!!!!
UPDATESI will keep this part so you guys can track when i have updated this:

I guess you should define the terms first...
ROM Cookers (also known as ROM Chefs) are actually the guys (or gals) who _REALLY_ build their own ROMs out of the source and even code up extensions or add features. Take nobodyAtall, doixanh, paul-xxx or larkkarl as an example here - that are REAL devs. alfsamsung, who "just" provides a kernel, is also a REAL developer.
The others who take a ROM to only mod it into the shape they so much desire or feel like to satisfy a particular itch (which is the majority of ROMs you will find in the development section) aren't ROM Cookers or ROM Chefs per se (in my opinion) - they are "Modders". They only add or remove packages to a pre-built ROM.
However, the definition of a "Dev" seems to be very blurred in XDA terms.

Hello,
Wish you and your family a very Happy New Year!
You may know that I have already published ElegantPerformer on Xda. You can check it here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1709879.
Now I am going to introduce it's 2nd version. In looks, both are identical but you can feel the difference while handling. I have used a lot of ROMs from here and I really loved each of them, but mostly I found my phone buggy after using them for more than a week. I actually stopped working on ROM due to my exams but I have to make one for myself. Which must be stable, fast without OC, smooth like butter and beautiful. So I am introducing another version of my work ElegantPerformer V2 by Adwait.

Few words from me:
I tried my best to keep the ROM away from bugs. Only one thing you may need to do is updating superuser binary. It will update by itself, just allow it to do so.I hope you like this ROM. Those who are already satisfied with your current ROM, just make a backup of the current ROM and then TRY this ROM. I am sure you will love this! Let me know if you find any trouble using it. If you like this ROM just press "Thanks" this will tell me how many of you loved this ROM.
You can also make this banner as your Signature. Here is the code:

Dude, when you release a different version of the SAME rom it HAS TO BE ON THE SAME THREAD.
Otherwise the Ace Development Forums would be filled with a trillion different threads.

Hey dude, It's look wise same But if the main source is itself changed then I think starting new thread is best choice. I know the rules but my 1st version was based on vo-1's odexed and this one is based on CM7.2's original nightly published on 1/1/2013. So I have to make a new thread! And I think I should! what say?
Edit: And also the Fire Kernel used in this ROM is OC. In v1 it was not an OC.
Did ur rom supports Tamil language? This version is deodexed?

Nope.
It should still be an update to the other thread.
As long as your rom has the same name you cant create a new thread. Be it a change in kernel or base rom itself

Of course you don't HAVE to use AdrenalineEngine, I just never had the feeling that it would do any damage to integrate it
1) On first boot I could not enter my PIN, all I could do was take out the battery and restart.
2) With every restart I get an error-message, something about bluetooth (I don't know if this important, I don't think it has any effect on the rest of the phone)
3) Whenever I want to go into the synchronisation-settings (I hope thats what its called in english) the phone reboots. (I think this might be a CM 7.2 Nightly error, and not your fault )
For now I have the feeling that it runs very smooth, and I like the way it looks.
Will test it for a few more days and maybe stick to it

Hello,
Did you cleared cache, dlavik cache 1st? After your reply I am going to test my ROM again but the errors you mentioned are completly new! They shouldn't be there. And I flashed my ROM almost 6 times during testing. So please make sure you have CWM5 or more, all data wiped, cache wiped, dalvik cache wiped!
Edit:
I just successfully flashed ROM. No error message about Bluetooth or anything found! Safely navigated through each part of settings without any reboot. USB tethering also works fine!
So I strongly recommend you to follow these steps:
Boot in recovery CWM 5
Wipe data/factory reset
Wipe cache
Advanced>>Wipe dalvik cache
Choose 'Install zip from sd card'
Choose the file 'ElegantPerformer_V2_By_Adwait.zip '
Of course, CWM5 and did exactly as you said in your first post. Never had these problems before, but since your ROM is based on such a new version of CM7, I think it might be because of that. But I don't know, I'm not a developer or anything

Finally, I’m proud to present:

Important:
Before you post a “bug”, do a Factory reset!!! It’ll solve most issues.
Before you ask something, read the whole Thread!!!
Don’t even think about pm’ing Team Fun or me because of your Problems
Why are there two versions of GingerDX?
One version is for stock kernel, the other one for custom kernels
Which one should I use?
Well, it’s pure logic If you are on stock kernel, flash the stock version, if you are on a custom kernel, use the custom version.
I’m stuck in a bootloop! What shall I do now?
Keep calm. Enter CWM and restore a Backup or reflash the ROM again.
If you can’t enter CWM, reflash using Flashtool or SEUS.
I’m still stuck!
Did you flashed the right version? Stock version on stock kernel and custom version on custom kernel…
Why is my Wifi not working?
Have you flashed the right kernel?
Try to forget Networks
Still not working? --> Full Wipe
My Phone crashes when trying to sign into google…
Have you flashed GAPPS?
Have you flashed the libsensor patch (when on alfs)?
Did you do a Full Wipe?
How can i mount my sdcard to PC? There is no button...
Just tap the Android
Can I update busybox on stock?
No. It’ll brick your Device
What is ADB/USB-Debugging?
If you don’t know what it is, you don’t need it
ADB (or Android Debug Bridge) allows you to communicate between your computer and your phone (for example to get logcats)
How do I get a logcat?
If you need to ask, that’s the right link for you: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1944776
What is GalleryDX
It’s a modded version of QuickPic
And how do I get rid of it?
Delete /system/app/GalleryDX.apk and /system/lib/qpicjni100.so
Why is my wifi not working?
On custom kernel:
Have you flashed the right kernel?
--> GDX v28 and earlier: LinuxDX or Alfs v08a GDX/Alfs v09c WLAN
--> GDX v29 and later: nAa 14 or Alfs v08a CM7/Alfs v09c CM7
Why is the Auto-Brightness not working?
If you’re on Alfs kernel, have you flashed the libsensor Patch?
Why does my LED not blink like it should?
Just delete the file "/system/lib/hw/lights.shakira.so" and reboot.
Now it should work correctly.
Shall I use Supercharger?
You can, but it’s not recommended. The ROM is already tweaked, to get the best overall performance. If you use it, it’s your own responsibility and do NOT post some “bugs” which only you have got, because of using supercharger
Will the app “xxx” be included in the next version?
To make you happy: maybe…
To be realistic: the probability it pretty low
How can I delete system apps?
You can delete system apps by using a root explorer to delete the desired app from /system/apps/
But BE CAREFUL what you delete! Delete on your own risk!
What’s KSM?
You can read the exact explanation here
Or in short: it gives a performance boost (because it makes processes share the “same pages” with other processes --> less CPU calculation) and reduces the RAM consumption (--> pages are shared, no multiple copies)
If you’ve got some questions to add to this list, just post a comment or send me a pm!
Thanks for your support and keeping the Thread clean!
Good:good: but there is already a similar thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1409113
Have you contact eagleeyetom?
I'm reading the word "official" so I guess you have, you could have taken the other thread and update it as Lucas is not that active here anymore and he have gave permissions for his threads.
There is no reason for two FAQ threads about gingerdx. So maybe mods should close the other one. Just saying its obviously up to mods.
And as a suggestion, you can add some links in order to make your thread more newbie friendly ,for example you can put a link for a more detailed unbricking guide.

Well guys.. I had decided. I am leaving XDA guys.. I am sorry. It's been so nice having you guys around. Well as many of you already know, I am using the iPhone 4 now and I rarely ever gets the time to log in to XDA and Tapatalk actually cost $2.99 on iOS. Soo yeah I am leaving and I guess sooner or later I would lose my RC status too. And all of my threads? You can inform a moderator or something if you want to help me continue updating all my nice threads if you want. You have my permisssion. For now I wont be online anymore though I might log in in a while.. Until the day I actually get a new Android phone then I will come back. Thanks guys for all of your support this year I really really did appreciated it.. However guys I am still keeping my faithful W8, still using it once in a while to read e-books and use my favorite Cyanogenmod app DSP Manager. Well that's it then... May we meet again soon.

thanks for the tip...but unluckly wifi setting isn't correlated to hotspot settings in locked status (standby). I found other users had same problems with other roms and phones, the solution they found is this app that allow to use cpu and wifi also when phone is in standby (locked)

i have encountered this problem only on ginger dx v30, and i have reinstall this rom twice
when i wake the device up, somehow the lockscreen widget is not visible, but it is there, i can unlock it due to the vibration that i felt... and sometimes, when i try to either reboot or power off the device, pressing the power button, but no menu is visible, but i know its there, because i tap randomly on screen, and then another menu to choose either reboot or reboot the recovery pop out. im using this on alfsv09c and i have install this correctly, anyone knows why this happen?

Well, how do i start?
We all are pretty much desperate to get Cyanogen mod to our lil' device aren't we? And now we do have super developer's who are working their back end's out to get our device listed in the official list.
There are lots of threads in our section as well as some other devices which are kind of similar to us,but some of these threads concentrate solely on developer interactions. But we all want to try it and sometimes we get stuck. And we tend to start asking questions there. Even though we think its important question (which is for us, but may be its not most of the times) and people who follow the thread with interest get bugged when stray post's like " my phone is stuck! " "I can't find the link" "which kernel works" "how can I get maximum battery" etc question posts surfaces.
So, i thought..why not create a thread like @Deadly's where people interact to help each other, experience CM and try out different things like themes and kernel! BUT away from the actual dev thread and help to keep that cluster free?? Please? Thanks!
Ask anything here related to CM and someone will guide you. And if you know the answer you can help too.. All are welcome to ask and answer.. lets not go too much off topic.. also discussion (related to CM) is fine.. And please! Do read FAQ questions before asking same questions.. if you ask that still.. we won't flame you.. we will just tell you to read it.. hope you all understand..
and oh btw,

[SIZE=+3]Frequently Asked Questions[/SIZE] - [SIZE=+2]Galaxy Y CM[/SIZE]
[SIZE=+1]This a short list of frequently asked questions in this device forum and the answers often given as a response. It should serve as a starting point for gathering knowledge and finding solutions to many common problems.[/SIZE]
[SIZE=+1]Q1: Should I post in Development thread or here?[/SIZE]
Please do not post questions/concerns in the Development Section/threads. Post any queries/questions here. If only a bug/solution/idea is to be reported, you can post in development thread.
[SIZE=+1]Q2: Do I need to be Rooted to install Cyanogen Mod?[/SIZE]
No. You can install this without rooting. Just follow the instructions in the thread op post. and you are good to go!
[SIZE=+1]Q3: Is this an official CM ROM?[/SIZE]
No. Its unofficial.
[SIZE=+1]Q4: How do I know if my phone is Rooted?[/SIZE]
You'll see 'Superuser' app in your App Menu.
[SIZE=+1]Q5: How can I return to stock ROM?[/SIZE]
You can, by visiting this thread [Stock][ROM][Odin] Galaxy Y S5360 flashable firmware packages
Read the instructions and get back to stock.
[SIZE=+1]Q6: What are download mode and recovery and how can I enter them?[/SIZE]
CWM recovery is where you flash ROMs, and other zip files. Use the volume keys to navigate, and the home key to select. Entered with the key combination of Vol Up + Home + Power. Not readily accessible if using a kernel without cwm integration. Download mode is where you flash via Odin and accessed by holding Volume Down+ Home+ Power buttons
[SIZE=+1]Q7 I am looking for the best ROM, which should I choose?: [/SIZE]
ROMs come in two flavours. CM based ROMS and Samsung firmware based ROM's. While CyanogenMod is completely open source, several custom ROM come from it. These ROMs do not have Samsung Touchwiz and other samsung apps.
The choise is up to you. There is no such thing as the best rom, it is a subjective matter. Each have their own likings
[SIZE=+1]Q8: What is this 'Flash Counter/ Custom Bin Counter' everybody is talking about?[/SIZE]
Your phone's custom bin counter is incremented when it detects custom firmwares. This is Samsung's way of knowing that you have modded your device. But thanks to the awesome people like Doky73 at XDA, there are ways around this. Refer to This Thread.
[SIZE=+1]Q9: How to get a logcat/DMESG?[/SIZE]Please check here to get it via app or through PC Simple methods to get LOGCAT, DMESG
[SIZE=+1]Q10: Am I required to backup my ROM before flashing anything else?[/SIZE]
No, you're not, but, it is definitely a good idea because if you don't do a backup and then something goes wrong, it means that you'll lose all your apps, data etc. It just saves a lot of hassle.
[SIZE=+1]Q11: When I install the ROM I don't see apps like Gmail, Market, WHY?[/SIZE]
AOSP ROMS cannot included Gapps (Gmail, Market, Gtalk) included in one zip, Google Legal says its not supposed to be included. So, you can get it here
[SIZE=+1]Q12: What are Known BUGS?[/SIZE]
Known bugs:
- Display: Sometimes there appear to be some glitches. This is known, and due to the usage of a released test binary. I'm currently working myself to reverse engineer the test binary released by BroadCom and the proprietary binary included in the GT-S5360 to come up with a hopefully fixed driver.
- Camera: Still has the white screen bug in the preview of what you're taking a picture of. This is not easily fixable, but will do my best. Movie recording is not yet possible as codecs still need to be included in my build.
- @PsychoGame
[SIZE=+1]Q13: What Kernel should I use? Which one is the best? [/SIZE]Well, you should use psychogame's kernel for his CM builds to get official support. But most of the kernels support CM. Just got hrough the respective kernel OP post to know whether it supports or not. Eg. Merruk, Savie, whitexp, GNU, hells fusion all supports
I'll add other questions whenever i can think of. or you can PM me if you think i should add a question which is quite common.

Hello. CM7 was one of the first custom ROMs to introduce the concept of "rendering". It rendered the screen in a certain color or shade to improve battery life or improve other aspects of performance.
You can sort this out by going into CM settings, display, rendering effect, and choosing none. This will return your phone back to normal. :good:
And about themes: don't install any with transperent elements. Transparency=more GPU processing and more of this means laggy phone.
Great thread. At least now we can focus on development related to CM on original thread.
Note: if anyone posts a unique bug that has not been resolved before, they are to be redirected to the original thread so that we can sort it out there.

Ya but I think we should stick to Psycho's kernel.. coz whatever improvements he makes.. it will obviously be in his own kernel.. but i think if someone still wants to use some other kernel i think the kernel developer should be contacted in that case!

We have a new thread for CM7 bugs now over at Q&A. You will have to post bugs there. This is going to be solely focused on development from now on.
Anyway, that is not a CM7 bug. Please do not post app specific bugs, as we will not be able to provide adequate support.
Contact the app developer and report the bug to him. I assure you that he will be more than happy to help you.

@phsycoGame hey great job making cm 7 mire stable. Btw do you have a fix for charging animation while phone is off. it seems that there is no animation whole charging. hope you can fix it
For animation during charging you can copy the stock file called battery charging and when you install cyanogenmod go in system media copy and paste the files.

It is always best to thank a ROM OP, in lieu of simply posting "Thank you".
Please keep discussion focused, on the topic described in the OP
Additional Q&A/T Information
Liquid's development threads are intended for developmental purposes only, which means that posts should be focused solely on bug reports (with logcats) and assistance to further improving the ROM. Development threads in general are by no means a 24/7 tech support service but everyone needs some help every now and then and that is the purpose of this thread.
Most of you should already be aware that Q&A threads such as this are intended to clear any off topic posts and questions from the development threads to the Q&A/T thread, thus keeping the development threads clutter-free and ON-topic.
Any discussions concerning battery life, custom kernels, 3rd party apps, mods, etc.. will be posted in this thread along with any other general questions or topics NOT pertaining to the development of the project itself.
Any and all questions are welcome here but you must ALWAYS remember to search as well as read the FAQ and the OP of the original thread prior to posting questions. You stand a better chance of finding the answer to your question yourself by performing these tasks and it's a great feeling.
Additionally, no one should answer to OT questions asked on the development threads but instead, when convenient, respond with something like "Please use the Q&A/T thread for this kind of question". Consecutive OT posts will be moved here to Q&A/T as required.
And finally, if someone in this thread helps you, please take a second to click their 'thanks' button! Someone has taken the time to assist you, and clicking thanks will make them feel appreciated so they come back the next day and help someone else! You get 8 thanks a day, don't be stingy with them! (I'm not even talking about me. I'm not looking for 'thanks'. Save them for others who directly answer your questions. They will deserve it.

How to best ask for help in this thread!
Please try to provide as much of the following information as possible when posting your issues for the best possible support from myself or the community.
1. ROM version
2. Recovery + version
3. Kernel + version
3. Gapps package + version
4. Mods
5. Troubleshooting steps
6. BE AS SPECIFIC AS POSSIBLE
The FAQ can be found in 3rd post. I will add to it as the thread progresses.
If you discover a bug not listed in question #6 of the FAQ, please report it on the main Liquidsmooth thread (with logcats if possible) or submit the bug on their Official Google+ Bug section and it will be added here accordingly.
Thank you for your cooperation and enjoy the AWESOMENESS that is Liquidsmooth!
Q1 - How do I flash this ROM?
A - Download the ROM and GAPPS from the original thread. (Mirror found HERE)
1. Reboot recovery
2. Make a nandroid backup (recommended}
3. Wipe data/Factory reset
4. Flash the ROM and GAPPS
5. Reboot and enjoy!
Q2 - Can I flash this on my (jfltexx/jflteatt/jfltevzw/jfltespr/jfltecan/jfltetmo/jflteusc/jflteworldcom/jflte10-10-220)?
A - Yep. See post #2 of the original thread
Q3 - Can i flash this on my i9500?
A - No, sorry.
Q4 - I'm having crazy issues with _____ after flashing the latest nightly. PS: I dirty-flashed.
A - See the wise words in @CPA Poke's signature.
Q5 - It wont flash with TWRP, how do i fix it
A - This is an issue with LiquidSmooth. To flash with twrp, follow this method:*
1. Factory reset*
2. Reboot to recovery
3. Flash*
-OR-
A - Update your recovery to the most recent TWRP.
Q6 - What are the known bugs on this ROM?
A - Currently, they include the following:
- Font Size picker does not work.
- Slim Pie needs a reboot before the trigger areas work.
- App Settings (Xposed) does not work.
- Network Mode quick tile will disappear from the add panel list once it's added to the QS Panel (Note: Some users have also reported the same for their LTE quick tile).
Q7 - How can I change from the default CLock color on my lockscreen?
A - You cannot apply your changes from the system settings. To change lockscreen color you will need to do the following:
1. Settings > Lock screen > Widgets > enable widgets
2. Enter lockscreen then expand the widgets
3. Hold on the CLock widget then drag it towards the X icon to remove it.
4. Tap on the + sign and select CLock from the list of widgets
5. Adjust the settings to your liking
6. Tap on the check mark at the upper right hand corner of the CLock menu to confirm/apply your changes.
Just in case

What launcher are you using? Sometimes that has a tendency to mess with the stock wallpaper. I can't go searching for it at the moment because I use my own wallpaper and delete the liquidpaper folder.

Sorry guess it would be helpful if I made myself clear. I flashed the new build but I'm a KT fan and flashed the latest kernal. After doing so my wifi would not work, gapps kept force closing as well, there was one other but can't remember what it was.
Tried a clean flash at first, then tried a dirty flash over 03-13 both with the same result.

What recovery?
Nevermind read the comment above sounds like something is up, I'll try in a few, haven't had that happen (loose wifi) since I was messing around with radios... Did you try another build on the kernel or only the latest?

Seems to be an issue with loading frandom on boot up after flashing the latest 3/12 kT build..
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=51094944
No issues on stock kernel though.
The camera doesn't seem nearly as good as TW camera. I tried changing the focus mode to infinity but it refuses to change from continuous. And pictures I take don't look as good as I'd expect. Any fix for this or another camera app that will take better pics?
FYI, running Philz recovery and the 3/13 version.

Is anyone using the active display feature? The brightness adjustment doesn't seem to have an effect. 3.14 build.

Try this app. I find it to be a good replacement to the AOSP camera.

Thanks, seems like a good alternative. But I've got a bigger problem now. Phone died and is refusing to charge while off. All I see is the battery icon with a frozen pinwheel. What do I do?
