What is the most annoying thing on your phone? For me (Arc S) it was the choice to put the headphone socket on the side. What on Earth were they thinking? Even with a T shaped headphone connection it means I cannot put the phone in a soft pouch in my pocket. Seems like they want to sell me a stereo bluetooth system with inferior audio instead.
The super small camera button.

Call speaker. Small hole should've been bigger. I can barely hear until I put my ear exactly on the hole.
Power button is annoying on the top for sure but imo the camera button is too small. Oh well at least we have a camera button unlike most newer phones

for me its the cheap silver lining paint that easily peels off ruining the sexy appeal of our arc.

For me its having the notification LED on the side, but have got used to it over time.
As someone else already said, the.cheap silver coating is annoying too. Starting to peel away in places now and make my phone look cheap and tacky

1.Small Power Button - They could made it Bigger
2.Head Phone Jack Location - Best Place to be on Top Middle
3.Small Camera Shutter - Better than none
4.Notification Light - I wished they used the LEDS on the Hardware Keys Instead putting the led on the side
5.No Front Facing Camera
My arc got cracks too, after a year and 6 months near back button, and not in the proximity sensor, some chrome peeling in hardware buttons.

3.5 mm Jack and its type (it should be on top, almost no other headsets work)
Led should be on front
Bigger conservation speaker, and remove that "detail"
Doesn't support all headphones, as well of the jack being on the left side. On top or bottom would be better, had to get L-shaped contact on my headphones. to fit in my pockets.
Charger not being upside down, really bugging me. its hard to hold during charging

but the most annoying thing is definitely the silver paint on the side
I forgot about those other issues. Yeah, annoying. My back button is not very responsive either. Sometimes it takes multiple presses to get it to register.

Hey there,
My HD makes a resonating / ratling noise when I tap my finger on the camera area at the bakside.
Is someone else experiencing this too?
I tried twisting it a bit, pressing between fingers but it still resonates.
Is this perhaps the G-sensor / accelometer?
I've also noticed that, even with the stylus removed, if you hold the HD in one hand and tap it against you other hand, you can hear something move.
Now that you mention it, I guess it must be the G-sensor!
So.... is it?!
A small rattling is probably the G-sensor, my K850 makes a small noise due to it too.
It's the G Sensor. Give it a shake and you'll hear it carry on for a few seconds with your ear near the phone.
G-sensor? Not likely
I do not think so. G-sensors are solid-state devices: no moving pieces inside.

Well accelerometer then, it's definately one of the two.
Well, the sensors do have moving parts - but I was fairly sure that those are of microscopic proportions (micromachined silicon).
I would be surprised if it was that.
Perhaps there's a hidden tray inside with a ball-bearing, necessary to run "teeter"
Today the messenger from Vodafone at my house to exchange the HD.
Guess what... the new one made the same noise.
A light resonating noise at the camera area at the back.
The messenger took the new one with him and left me my old one.
Vodafone will get in touch with me he said.
Anybody else experiencing this noise here?
Rattling htc hd
Yes mine does this - I think its the camera.
Take an extreme close up and you will hear the same rattle/click noise as if something drops back in to place following the close up focus...
Rattling noise here too.

HA, i knew that game seemed too lifelike
It's the 3.5 mm socket for your headphones jack, was bugging me for a while and got to the bottom of it. Insert your earphones/headphones jack, noise goes away..
I think you will find that it will be the lens in the camera. As I am sure you know this is an auto focus camera and of course that will need a moving lense body. G-Sensors and accelerometers are the same thing and indeed solid state, or pretty much anyway. It is not the headphone jack and I must say...if the noise bothers you... just don't tap the camera! Simple!
Please FOR THE SAKE OF GOD does your device also make rattling noise when you tape on the camera cover ?? Please we need to know because this issue is getting annoying !!! Its been a month with HD and now I hear a rattling noise whenever i tap on the upper part of the backcover near the camera. I tried with another HD and IT DOES THE SAME THING
I emailed HTC a week ago about the problem and they responded by saying "The rattling sound shouldn't be any problem" which makes it sound like they know the Touch HD makes the rattling noise
Please could you share your experience here ?! I need to know if I have the right to return it back and ask for replacement. My BlueAngel was as solid as rock
The rattling can be annoying, but I find it's only really noticeable when the phone vibrates.

So you can also hear the rattling when u slap the backcover near the camera ? Is it a fault with the design ? Maybe the camera lens ? I can hear a similar sound when i take shots with the cam ( autofocus maybe ).

I do also hear it when I take shots when the camera starts auto focusing and when lightly tapping the back cover near the camera.
My older Diamond had the same problem.
Just the crap cameras HTC uses.

How pathetic, paying more than 1049$ for this machine and what a crappy built quality... screen bends when taping on it... backcover and usb cracking noise ( also near the volume buttons ) and now that freaking rattling noise.Absolutely crap.....
It must the mechanicals used for moving the lens during focusing.
Today I went to HTC dealer store nearby... I asked for a new device out of the box. Surprisingly, the new device also makes that rattling noise. I tend to believe it was meant to be done that way. Who knows... maybe its an option
Is it just me or is the placement of the speakers odd - If they wanted to provide an experience for watching movies, then with the current placement you will only get sound out of the right side. I really liked the placement of the speakers on the Archos 7 HT - too bad the rest of it was so bad.
I suppose the placement might be for the HDMI dock which orientates the Tab portrait, but if you were using that, then I guess you would be using an external sound source. It is not a big deal - just a oddity of the design.
It is indeed odd, as righthanded I cover the speaker with my hand while playing games in landscape.
Yes. Weird placement.

I hate it. It's supremely irritating in every respect... Shame that we can't do much to change it
What I find stranger is the microphone location. About an inch from the top left side. Its where my thumb/fingers are when I hold it with one hand, as I do when I get a call.

I'm not big on pictures so the camera is not that big of an issue to me. Although it would be nice to see someone port a new camera. But other then that I love everything there is to love about this phone. And I don't think for one minute that it was a bad idea to buy this phone.

3 more hardware keys
IP69K rating...a man can dream
+ Stronger glass! (Mine is still OK, but I live in fear of it breaking, given how many reports there are on the various forums of people having this problem).
+ Sensibly priced accessories from Dell
Also agree strongly with:
+ Notification LED
+ Mini/micro USB (or any other standard plug) for charging/sync
i wish the hard button led's would stay on while i'm using the screen.
Built in visual voicemail. It's such a nice feature to have.

Totally. I wish the Streak had an HDMI output that was pervasive for the entire device - as in what you see on screen is output over HDMI!
The other thing I wish the Streak had is physical buttons for Home, Menu and Back. Seriously, capacitive buttons suck ass. When my Streak is sat flat down on a desk, the capacitive buttons are terribly unresponsive. It seems like they require a complete circuit or something, because if I hold the device with one hand and touch the buttons with the other hand, they do NOTHING, whereas if I touch the metal backplate with one finger and the button with another finger, they respond instantly every time... I don't care about using the face buttons for turning on the screen, the power button is perfectly placed and recessed just the right amount IMO, just the face buttons really need to be physical!
Other than that, I freaking love the Streak! Perfect screen-size to portability ratio for me!
Like it has a spring inside?
No, I'm not kidding here!
Hold the phone between your index finger and thumb about 1/4 way from the bottom and tap the back near the camera while listening. You can actually feel it too, like there is a spring inside. Not sure if it's the battery terminals or the display inside. I have the 16GB Korean model if that makes any difference.
I will try using the voice recorder to see if it can be recorded in case nobody else's phone does this. I've had it in many different cases as well, does not make any difference in the sound.
EDIT: The voice recorder and video camera (using the same mic) do not pic up this "anomaly". It would have to be recorded with another device.

How often do you go around tapping your phone with it up to your ear?
I think it's either the camera lens or the vibration module. This is very normal, don't worry about it.

Just curious as to what's inside causing this. I felt it, if you hold it up to your ear you can hear a distinct "boing" when it's tapped.
Speaking of camera lens is the "stabilizer" function of the camera digital or active, i.e. suspended elements servo controlled, etc. ?
None of my other phones do this.
Some may call me crazy, but I do enjoy that sound. Not quite as good as the ting my s2 used to make doing the same thing
I get it too. Not worried about it.

s4 weird feel
I noticed that too and they replicated that feel to the charger that came with it. kinda weird.
same here
i have it also...and is actually very bad. i tried to get it replaced, but the guys from samsung said it's normal and it will not affect the hardware of the phone. the phone is working great...without any problems, lags or errors so i think i will leave it that way. i watched a video on youtube about how to disassemble the s4, and i think is the vibrator motor. i hope so...because if is not the next think would be the display. if someone has any other clues please let us know
Its just the vibration module, the force makes it spin slightly causing the "springy" feeling like a light vibration, same with plugging your charger in its just haptic feedback bud

Just curious. I have had this phone for about two weeks. I love it. One thing that's kinda odd is the speakers on the bottom. So when I'm holding it in landscape mode playing a game it disrupts the sound and it's muffled and quite. Anyone else feel the same way? Not a big deal. Just a minor inconvenience.
Sent from my LG-D801 using xda app-developers app
Yes it's very easy to block the speaker while playing in landscape, design flaw I suppose but can be avoided by adjusting one's grip on the phone. Still happens every now and then when I'm not careful.
Sent from my LG-D802 using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
Yea it is a known issue. Maybe you can remove the back cover and drill holes to the back aligned with the bottom holes.
Then maybe sound can escape from the back.
Sent from my LG-D802 using Tapatalk
Yea I usually overcome this by putting my phone face down. Definitely a design oversight.
Most phones have had speakers on the bottom or on the back that result in muffling when holding it.
Owning a Nexus 7 2013, I really miss the stereo sound from it. It is really the only thing I wish my G2 did differently, although I don't know how they'd incorporate a "top" speaker without making it look ugly.

Initially, I considered two speakers on the bottom of G2 as "stereo", but later I found that this is actually a single speaker with "stereo" design
