Android rom, I cant watch videos. - HD Mini General

Hello guys, i installed a rom: its here
And i cant watch videos on webpages.
I read the topic, and the poster says install mx player.
When i entered youtube. Browsers ask to me the video player. and if i select the mx player, i can watch as well. But when i entered another page. It doesnt ask to me. And opening with its default player automaticly. At youtube i said select as default while im selecting the mx player. But it worked on just youtube.
How to can i change the default stock video player for other pages? I looked the apps on root. But i cant see something like "Video player" "stock video player" "player"...
Can u help me? I tried to post the topic of this rom. But forum says u have to get more than 10 posts. If you have quest ask general forum...

youtube/windows media problem.

I have a at&t pure and I installed the wvga htc youtube app. The app worked great but the problem is that when I install this app it messes up my media player. I get this message " the source filter for this file could not be loaded". This happens when i try and play video on media player when youtube app is installed. What can I do about this? Im running the pure original from at&t, original rom.
You really don't want to know how many pages with a solution I get when I search on "the source filter for this file could not be loaded" with Google...
Try urself and you will see... Don't open new threads for things you can find by searching...
I have searched and looked through many threads on that message. I tried some cab files that was for the x1 that was having similar problem, no luck. If anyone has tried the htc youtube app on the pure and got it to work, without it stopping windows media player's video playback let me know how. Really like this youtube player but dont want to give up mp4 playback on media player.
I have both working.
You may want to get off the stock ROM and try a custom one with Youtube cooked in.
yeah was thinking i might have to do that. wanted to avoid that though, never did a rom before and I just got the phone. Dont want to screw it up just yet.lol
i have found more threads with other people having this problem but no fix. can anyone help?the htc youtube app is sooo much better than other options would like to have it installed.
Why not try a media player that supports YouTube like Coreplayer?
i have and they all suck compared to the htc app

[Q]Engadget android app (best Video Player for embedded Videos)

I love using the Engadget app to keep up with daily news, but no matter what I try I cannot watch the embedded videos within the stories.....
The ones that link to YouTube are fine as you can choose the browser or the YouTube app.
But their native videos don't play for me. I currently get the choice of viewing through double twist or streaming media player, both of which say "Sorry, this video cannot be played".
Anyone any idea what format these endgadget videos are in? And how I can get the engadget app to choose a player capable of playing them?
Moved to Themes and Apps. Also deleted your post in General.
Please only post one thread on the same subject, and try to post in the correct forum.
Thanks.

[Q] Mobo player

I just downloaded mobo player and the codec file for it. I wanted to play video's directly on the internet on my xoom. I thought downloading this would help me but video's are still not playing?
I do not understand the media directory thing is there anything I am missing.
I picked media directory to be my downloads in my Astro file. This is right out of the box. I have done nothing to unlock or root this device.
Can anyone please explain to me what I need to do to play video's from a web page on the net. For example I went to a site for Las Vegas wanted to play video of Terry Feder show would not play?
I'm pretty good at following directions. I understand PC very well just learning about cell phones and tablets.
I only downloaded the codec file because the video still wasn't playing.
I do not want to do anything that will mess up my xoom?
Sorry I think I should have posted this in questions forum.
Did you try tapping and holding the video you want to play then selecting soft decoding? You have to do that to a large majority of videos for the xoom.
Yes I did. When the video appears on the screen there is a small blue dice in the center with a ? on it. There seems to be lots of videos that won't play. Is there anything in the codec file that I need to change. I saw the soft decoding for one of the video extensions?
Just found something that says default using soft decoding in settings I checked it. Still no luck. You tube videos play fine
When I tap the video the screen turns light blue but nothing comes up and their are no options available to select.
you said your trying to play videos from a site. What site and what video format? Link?
Go to metacafe.com any video it does not work. That is just one of the sites. I cannot tell what the video format is? How can i see that. On the right hand bottom of my screen it says autoplay ON. I do not know if that is from Mobo app or something else.
took a spin around the world wide web and seems the videos on your site metacafe are FLV files.
go to the market.. install one of these in the list and see if any will work.
not sure which ones are compatible with the xoom so just go in and check on the tech details. better yet go there with your xoom so it will filter out which ones will work.
you can also just search "flv player" w/o quotes in the market and see what you come up with.
https://market.android.com/search?q=flv+player&so=1&c=apps
That site seems to use a bunch of different kinds of video. Hulu videos wont work, but the flash videos will if you install flash, obviously. Moboplayer is for mp4, avi, mpeg, and other types of video commonly not found streaming on websites.
Just called Motorola and figured out that Flash Player needed to be downloaded. Do I feel stupid. I thought it came with it and was on it when I got it. I then went back to the site and the video played.
Do you think MoboPlayer will interfere with anything on my tablet. Should I remove it?
Or should I leave it. Don't even know if it works on the xoom. It did not work to get the FLV file working that is supports. Any input would be appreciated.
keep it. it can play other movie formats.

Question. How to link BS player with streaming video on Google Chrome or FIrefox

Guys/girls I need help on this one.
Before Xperia SP I had Galaxy Ace. On Ace, I go to some webpage that contains video. When I press video after a while phone/android asks for me which player I want to use. More like this -> Android Phone - BS Player
Now, on Xperia I do not have such an option. But I would like Xperia or Android to behave in such manner so I can watch "streaming" videos throughout BS Player.
I want to do this, because of the controls and that video can go full screen.
Any help on this?
Phone is rooted....of course
What video player is being used..... Check in settings/apps see if video player is set to default if it is clear the default setting.
When video is about to play you might get option to play with bsplayer.
I use MX player mostly it is used as default but not always sometimes the stock video player is used.
This may or may not work and you may find the option is not set, in that car sorry can't help any further.

Well, this is how it looks. No matter if I use GChrome or Firefox, when I press on video that contains mp4 file, GChrome or Firefox start playing that file internally throughout themselves. There is no popup "Complete action using" like it was on Ace.
Default app for BS Player is grayed out, which makes it not default.
Look at stock video player is that set to default? Only asking... I got nothing else to suggest

I do not know what stock video player is. By that I mean, how default player is called? I cannot find it in Settings/Apps/All
I have just noticed when in settings/app there is option to reset app preferences... Try that. Hope it helps.

Nope it doesn't work. Still the same problem.
Disable movies via settings > Apps > All > Video's/movies > Disable
Reboot phone and open video you want to stream via BS Player and try again. Sometimes this works.

Still same, just this time video won't play. It just starts internal video screen with controls, but no video is played or even loaded.
