recently i overclocked my device to 1ghz (but not using merruk kernel) and i installed bacem tweak,
like i always do in my pc oc'ing using fsb, multiplier and increasing voltage,,
i increased the voltage to +50 mV tham stock it is stable and smooth but battery is not getting charged then i used odin and unbricked
any one knows how to do it correctly
may be if not +50mV may be +25mV?????

bro dont overvolt it will destroy ur phone u need to undervolt to save battery. i recommend u to uv to -80 or -100mV .its a safe range.

When we're talking about undervolting, are we underclocking?

Overclock X8 Arm Cpu

Hi,
Are there any way to overclock X8?
LG GT540 has almost the same cpu, and it is capeable to run on 800Mhz confortly.
Its only possible by replacing the kernel. To replace kernel bootloader has to be hacked.
There are some devices where overclock module was compiled for standard kernel like moto Droid. But the CPU is different.
Sent from my E15i using XDA App
yes bootloader must be cracked.
Who could it do? Or any1 is planning to do that? Or where we can find what we need to overclock our cpu?
needs to crack the bootloader

Haven't we already overclocked the X8's CPU via the doixanh's module?

Root Explorer is NOT a freeware!
Asking for illegal downloads of paid apps is against XDA's rules.
Better read the rules before posting.

Overclocking

Has any one been able to Overclock Gt-I9100 to more than 1.6Ghz?..
IF YES.. please can u tell me how to do it..

I'd be interested to hear how this affects battery life.
Overclocking is kernel dependant so look at the limitations on the different custom kernels.
Max i have seen is 1696mhz on Siyah Kernel.

Yes, buy a core i7 desktop and use it for processor intensive tasks. 1.2 ghz is already fast and 1.65 is simply blazing for a mobile.

You will be able to change the 1600mhz "Max Freq" in "freq_table" only by script.
For more info see Siyah thread (ie: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=19206493&highlight=1696#post19206493 )
And as always in overclocking "at your own risk".
You can also ask for help in the Siyah Q&A thread :

Our overclocking kernels dont work.
Overclocking damages cpu n generatez heat

Yes, just don't abuse it
You can use stock kernel or merruk kernel overclock version.

Actually,as Irfanbagus once said our overclock kernels dont have working overclock yet. That's why the devs abandoned the plans for overclock. But underclock is working in Savie's #73 kernel and marco-too's kernel.Underclocking wont do much harm but will make battery last a bit longer but not that much at the expense of responsiveness.

@all Don't help him
Hi ,
How many times have I asked you to hit Thanks for people who helped you

@all : Don't help him until he press Thanks for Hitme987 at #2 post here
Hmm I've tried it but really it's not a big change, it does have a improved performance over other kernels but the improvement is very small, you can test it yourself by playing temple run on any two
I tried with savies rev 73 and Merruk 2.0, ofc Merruk was some what smooth but not much compared to savies. But Merruk 2.0 is outdated, doesn't support droid wall, and huge battery drainer, savies does a decent job on all of them, has many features, doesn't drain battery much and good on the performance wise. Give it a try!
But the next Merruk would be awesome since we can over clock upto 1.2 Ghz, waiting for that! It's still under development

Its a nice kernel for gaming
I think its a nice kernel for gaming, because it has 483 score in benchmark test. when I play Pes 2011 with ubuntu kernel (900 mHz) its run slowly, but when I used merruk, its run fast without ang lag... ^^

Do we have battery saving kernel?

As i see, any dev here are making fast kernel with tons of tweaks..
And many of them make a working kernel with ext2, ext3, ext4 support, and now even zRam support...
But, do we have a dev who want to make a battery saving kernel?
Can any dev do like this?

kuro kernel and repencis kernel (from repencis v3.5) is less using battery,in my experience.
all custom kernel here (usually) already undervolted.

hmm,in bacem tweak's undervolt (used in many kernel nowadays),we can decide how much the undervolt.
usually default bacem tweak is 100mv,i used the 120mv.
but in my experience, the stable battery saving is around 80-100
but my phone has tidy battery in 120
