[Q] When will that nexu 10 F****** RE-STOCK??? - Nexus 10 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I'm an soooo angry and sorry for using F in the title.:crying:
I'm in Spain and its been out of stock for about 2 months. wtf, missed the holidays and continues.
Does anybody know when it will restock, or where I can buy in spain?
I love google but this pisses me of, they'r lucky I HATE ipads and I don't tolerate (and disapprove) of non-stock android tablets.

I guess Google didn't anticipate this high of demand..... They better step it up this year and learn from their mistakes.... Shame shame. Sorry man

My apologies, but I got mine yesterday. I live in Norway though

I feel your pain all the way here in Canada where the Nexus 10 have been sold out since a brief appearance on the Google's play store. From what I have read it seems they purposely keep stock low on all the nexus devices. Just this week the Nexus 4 and lack of availability has been in the news. The Nexus 7 had a similar shortage.
I had previously been interested in an Asus Transformer and religiously followed their XDA forums posts. They were also in short supply for many months after a new model was introduced. All the complaints I saw in their forums are being echoed in this one. Including identical hardware/software compliants especially about light bleed and lack of quality control.
It makes me feel that purchasing a Tablet is more of a crap shoot than a consumer purchase. I almost expect to see flashing text "Do you feel lucky sucker!", just before making that final purchase.

Nexus S T-Mobile

Does anyone know if there is still any place that sells brand new GT-I9020T Nexus S phones?

having trouble deciding between the Nexus S and the upcoming nexus prime.. the prime looks cool but 4.65 inch screen just seems impractical for a smartphone...

4.65" is including the part for "buttons" since they will be on the screen as there aren't any physical keys. so technically it isn't 4.65"

Depends on your definition of "soon".
As of right now it looks like it will be released around November.
If you want a cynic's opinion, here it is: The Nexus S was old-hat before it was even released. The only benefit was the ease of unlocking and getting updates first, which sounds awesome until you realize that the initial versions of GB were massively buggy. I'd expect the same for ICS. Add to that the fact that HTC is making it so you can easily unlock all of their phones and the list of reasons why I would want one gets much, much shorter. Non-existent, in fact. I'm actively looking for a way to get my hands on a device with hardware that wasn't dated before the first model rolled off the line or wasn't succeeded months later by a phone with a key feature the original was lacking for a more than sub-par carrier. I've said it before, but to save you the trouble of reading it somewhere else, I should have learned my lesson about buying Samsung phones after the Epic 4g debacle but I didn't. I have now and I'll advise anyone against buying their POS devices.

When did I say it did? Never? Yeah that's the answer to that. See there are things called 'lists' where you mention many things that are all related to one other topic but are not necessarily related to each other. Like a grocery list. See cereal and baby spinach are not related to each other but they are both things I need from the grocery store. Just like GB being buggy and my hatred for the way Samsung treats its customers are both reasons why I wouldn't want another nexus device but they are not related to each other. Does basic sentence structure make sense now?

I think he was confused (as was I) by the fact that your conclusion didn't really follow from your argument. You complained about the phone being outdated and you complained about gingerbread being buggy and then you ended by concluding that you shouldn't have bought a Samsung phone. But everything you complained of was Google's doing.

I just picked up an i9020t Nexus S knowing full well that the Nexus Prime is coming. You know why?
Refined Galaxy S hardware
Comfortable rounded edges (looking at you, captivate)
Great ROM support, with ICS on the horizon
Respectable battery life
Pretty freaking fast
So yeah, the phone's hardware is dated. However, the Nexus S is my favorite size and shape, and OC'ed to 1.2ghz with some speed hacks from different places, I can't even imagine wanting for more speed. Now, this is all my opinion, but you can land a Nexus S now for a reasonable price. So get one and have several happy months of hacking!

Amazing how many people do no know about the Note

I run into people all the time who see my phone and have no idea what it is or even that it's a phone readily available from ATT here in the US.
They have no idea. Most people actually like it and want one. A handful think its HUGE. I am so used to it don;t find it big. I find the iPhone and my SGS2 extremily small now.
It appears Samsung really doesn't push this phone like they did the S2 and now s3.
I am beginning to wonder whether or not a "Note II" will be released.
Anyone have the same experience when other's see their phone?
Yep here the same, a lot of ppl i met did not know that device here in Germany as well. 10% think its to huge but i tell them in even 3 days after i got my SGN i never touched my other SGS1 and SGS2 incl. the SGT7
Well first of all remember that 80% of the population barely pays any attention to gadgets. So it's not suprising that a relatively new device like the Note is still not well known. I guess it also depends on the level of promotion. Samsung ran the Superbowl ad but I don't know how heavily advertised it's been after that.
In India the Galaxy Note has been massively promoted right from the start, something which surprised me at first. However it's been a big success and even regular people seem to be aware of it. Whenever I show it to people, the reaction is generally very positive.
I don't think there is any question that the Note has been a big global success. I think there will be another massive round of promotion around the Olympics and I will be surprised if sales are less than 10 million at the one year mark.
There will definitely be a Note 2 though possibly it may not come this year. There isn't much serious competition yet in this category and Samsung may decide that the Note will continue to sell well. In that case they may postpone the Note 2 to sometime next year when they could ship with Jelly Bean. My guess though, is that the Note 2 willl be released around November this year.
yeah in India, Samsung has done proper marketing for this phone. It has sold well too. I see a huge number of people using it here..
Most people I meet, just look on and are surprised GNote fits in my standard trouser pockets! Confused with a 7" tab.
Hi all. I really hope that a Note II comes along. I'm absolutely loving my GNote. The size is perfect!! I'm from Trinidad and the reactions that I've had have been split 50-50. For everyone that wants one, someone else thinks it's massive and they wonder....how can that fit in your pocket?!? Silly question really...standard pockets have ample room for the GNote. Unless you're a chick....or a guy who's metro or something....
Here in the Netherlands there is an amazing amount of people who have the Note.
I see them literally everywhere.
Sammy has advertised a lot on T.V. and bus stops.
It's unbelievable, they keep popping up.
Although it is a device not so hard to miss right

Did Asus buy the farm on this one?

Have purchased about 5 Nook Colors, (2 refurbished)

Asus used to build reliable stuff, but from all your various horror stories, it seems that this Nexus 7 is not one of them.

4 Months? No. Over a year most likely. They shown it in CES 2011 back in January I believe under the name MeMO 370T which is what the Nexus 7 is.
Based off that, its been AT LEAST 9 months (but they had an actual functioning unit - so its been in development much longer).
The 4 month thing is a load of bull.

And I am raising a legitimate concern about quality control over an item that I was going to purchase myself, and may still do so, but not while sending it back 3 times.

Not sure the Nook Color should be used as a case of high quality manufacturing. When they first came out they had quite a few problems too. Very creaky bezels, power buttons that would come loose, and some other issues. I had to return my Nook Color three times before I got one that wasn't messed up in some fashion.
Don't think it had any issues as wide spread as the raised glass with the Nexus 7 is. But it didn't seem like a smooth launch either.
Of course if you bought your 5 Nook Colors later after all the hiccups were corrected, they would probably be perfect. I suspect if you were to buy 5 Nexus 7s a bit later they'll probably all be perfect too.

You do understand the concept that somehere like XDA you hear a disproportionate amount of problems, for every person posting here with a problem, there are 100,000 consumers without a problem just USING their tablet.
If you have trouble understanding this simple concept, ask a grown up.

People always say MOST people's N7's are just fine but it seems whenever there is a problem I always seem to be affected! Although I had the screen lift but tightening the screws fixed it for me. So I would say Asus QC is lower especially at the 200 dollar price point, but not that bad.

I love my nexus 7, its the most up to date google software device running jelly bean. Its pretty smooth on stock software, i SUGGEST the 32gb model, i have it and it was 269$ total that was with ny 8% sales tax. They are selling it pretty cheap it take them about 180$ to make it and they sell it for not much of a profit. THIS IS PURELY GOOGLE software. No ASUS overlay like cellphones or anything. Its great it and the BEST tablet for the money.
Cons: No rear camera, no external SD slot, on stock software you cannot view landscape mode on homescreen and do not purchase from gamestop have not heard good things as in LCD problems and such. I suggest staples, walmart, or playstore.
Hope this helps!

Buy it, you'll have no regrets. I'm sure your dad will love it, just like we love our N7 devices. It's one of the best tablets on the market.
Honestly, I think the N7 is just about the best $200 you can spend as far as technology goes.
Mine is basically defect-free. That hardware is really nice. It's a convenient size, great for reading, email and web-browsing.
However, only you know your dad. If you think he'd like a tablet, the N7 is definitely a great one!
I found this to be ironic since I bought an electric fireplace heater AND nexus 7 recently

I don't know your dad's age but I did something similar I'll describe below.
My step-dad is 61. He's never been real big on technology, he likes using it, for example he's a movie buff and loves home theater stuff, but he really doesn't care at all to know how it works or why it works. He's the kind of person who mysteriously ends up with the strangest toolbars ever on his computer when all he was trying to do was type something in notepad.
When he saw my first tablet, which was when the ipad launched originally, he fell in love with having a big screen and touch interface. So I got him one for Christmas and half expected him to use it for a little while and get frustrated or bored and shelve it longterm. But to my surprise he took to it with no problems and lived on it.
Fast forward a few years to the Nexus 7 launch. A few weeks after the Nexus 7 launched (I bought at staples before the pre order fiasco prior to launch day) he had surgery, heart surgery actually. He had some minor complications and ended up staying in the ICU a few weeks instead of a few days. There was no TV where he was.
His surgeon really stressed to us that he couldn't be working from the ICU, so his own ipad was out of the question. I went and bought a case for the Nexus 7 and then loaned it to him in the hospital. He usually likes big screens and large print, but he says the 7 inch screen is perfect for him and he really liked the Jelly Bean OS and interface a lot. Now he's begging for his own Nexus 7 after using those for a few weeks.
When I'm caught up financially I will buying him a Nexus 7 for sure. Even for a "bull in a china shop" type person who's not a techie, the Nexus 7 is one of the best overall devices I think you could give as a gift. The tablet and jellybean just work, and work great, and it's not much of a learning curve.
Just buy it. It's a greatest device for its money with powerful cpu+gpu plus the grate service support (hope you never needed). The only bad thing is that the glass is not gorilla glass but just Corning class so you must be gentle with the screen.

Nexus 6P vs Pixel XL

Hey guys, how you all doing?
Just wanted to know your opinion. Currently I am a phoneless guy since my Nexus 5 died a few days ago and since I gave up on the ZTE Axon 7 due to the lack of support from ZTE to the mod community. I am really, really, really eager to finally see what Google is up with the new Pixel phones. Some rumors say that it will be a tough phone to root and mod due to the two partitions for seamless updates and the startup check, etc, etc. That is worrying me a bit. But, since I am a bit desperate to get a new phone, the wait is just cruel, unbearable, excruciating! Yesterday I came across the Nexus 6P, the 128GB version to be more specific, at Amazon. Taking the Nexus 5 as reference, I know that I can rely on the support from the mod community to always have new and updated stuff, since we are talking of a phone that was launched just one year ago. SO, what would you do? Buy a consolidated phone that is the Nexus 6P with tons and tons of mods available, or wait for the Pixel XL?
Sorry for the long text!
Regards!
i would wait for the pixel xl especially now as the release draws closer. the nexus 6p is no doubt the best nexus ever made IMO but the pixel may very well be better. about modding, android has went through many changes that appeared as the death of the developer community but the ever so skillful and dedicated devs here at XDA always seem to find a loophole. it may take time, but eventually, root will be achieved!

Huh?
Root on a Pixel or Nexus device?
Unlock the bootloader and flash?
That is the one advantage that has always existed on Google/Nexus devices.
If the bootloader is unlockable, then root is pedestrian at best.
Here is mY 2 cents. I literally know nothing about the new pixel phone as I have no interest in getting it. The only thing I do know that I could suggest is number one HTC is a dying company and I believe that's who makes the phone. It seems to be a love-hate relationship depending on who you talk to but in my opinion they make some of the worst phones available. Number 2 the pixel phone is going to be close to $700 where as the 6p is now selling for under three hundred depending on where you go which is a gigantic difference in price. Again I don't know the specs the ins and the outs of the new pixel phone however a $400 price difference and the name HTC would lead me to say go with the 6p. Remember how well the last HTC Nexus device when? Probably not cuz it was basically a pos that nobody gave a damn about

Well I know I'm loving 6p big time after finally being able to get one a couple of weeks ago. It's the gold 64gb one and wow, what a phone that will be hard to beat. I'm working twelves and the phone makes it through the whole shift with ghostpepper profile applied. Anyway like previous post what a deal and for the price of pixel, what a steal. Good luck and thank you.

Huh?
Root on a Pixel or Nexus device?
Unlock the bootloader and flash?
That is the one advantage that has always existed on Google/Nexus devices.
If the bootloader is unlockable, then root is pedestrian at best.

indeed, but there was an article on the portal about the changes regarding rooting the pixel based on the new partition scheming due to the seamless updates.
Yes guys, I did it! Got a brand new 128GB for 405 euros. Eagerly waiting!

It's not harder just a new layout. Chain fire will have it working in no time. Don't sweat it.

i know man seems like google is bringing the nexus out of the dev phone spectrum and is targeting it towards the average consumer now with all of this new pixel branding and stuff i don't understand why though as it took them a long time to make the nexus brand popular and now they are ditching it when it's better than it ever was. :/

1.8 rating dude...
I just got a €390 128GB Nexus 6P, new. On ebay from a guy who bought it and had a problem. While he waited for the substitution from Google he bought a different phone and wanted to cash back as soon as possible. I was suspicious but the phone arrived in the box, completely sealed and everything was legit. Sometimes you get lucky (and considering I needed it to substitute my Note 3 who got destroyed in a fall, Spigen case and tempered glass protector notwithstanding... I sort of deserved it).
Pixel XL doesn't convince me. Smaller screen first of all. With screens it's relatively easy to go bigger... but going smaller? Not for me.

Yes, some times you get lucky. I didn't! I started asking questions and out of the blue I received an email from Amazon telling me that the guy canceled the the sell because he didn't have the phone . So I promptly bought a 64GB that is fullfiled by amazon, of course.
Got mine less than a month ago. 390 Euros .. the 64Gb version all bran new.
I don't think it's worth paying 700$ for the Pixel XL for the 32Gb version. Didn't see anything worth wasting money on. No major hardware changes that will make that a good deal.
