defy+ wr2.1.1 next gen some questions - Defy Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I used white rabbit since first version, awesome rom, except 1.8 that i hate a bit but generaly AWESOME, tried other roms... a lot of roms but nothing like as wr roms. Only speak about me defy+ bl7 cwm bootmenu recovery 5.0.6 and 2nd init 1.4 or 1.7 dont remember exactly, but think version 1.4 installed.
Questions:
1.
setcpu, 4 vsels actives 300/17 600/32 800/42 1000/52 ondemand .all modules. sched:0 and all other options untouched, by default
300 40/%
600 2-8%
800 1-7 %
1000 45-57%
think that vsel 2 and 3 rarely used, why? Is it caused by a bad voltages configuration?
2.
Defy+ need or not need a fix for battery
What we rely to some users with the same phone with the same rom
make use or not use of the fix?
thank you guys!

[Q] Question on OC & Stock Rom

I know... Another noob thread opening up, but I'm confused about something.
Questions :
1.- Can you root the HTC Buzz(Wildfire) while still retaining the Stock ROM (with Sense) ?
2.- Can you overclock the stock & rooted rom ?
2.1- (If so) What's the min & max overclock settings on the stock&rooted rom with SetCPU (is it the same as custom roms?)?
3.- Will you lose data, installed apps when you root your wildfire ?
What I want is a normal HTC Wildfire with Stock ROM (at least for now) that is Overclocked for better, faster performance.
Thanks for all your answers and please forgive me for flooding with another noob thread.
1. Yes
2. Yes, if you flash the OC kernel
2.1. Max is 768 mhz, min is 19mhz
3. No
Good luck and have fun

[Q] No Clk4 nor Vsel4 in "CPU settings" in Bootmenu after installing Whiterabbit

[Q] No Clk4 nor Vsel4 in "CPU settings" in Bootmenu after installing Whiterabbit
I installed Whiterabbit 1.4.1 in my Defy+ and now on the bootmenu->"CPU settings" I don't have the option to configure Clk4 and Vsel4. I only have till Clk3.
I disabled CPU settings in bootmenu and went for the app setVsel and it shows Clk4, but still doesnt show up in the Bootmenu.
How can I have Clk4 in my CPU Settings in the bootmenu back?
Thanks
It's because WhiteRabbit use Froyo kernel. Vsel4 it's only available for GB kernel.
I may be wrong but.. when I go to "settings"->"About phone", it says:
"Android version 2.3.7"
My understanding was that it's Gingerbread because it's 2.3.x
Froyo is 2.2.x
well don't get confused Android version with kernel version. If you see in white rabbit thread there are different files for defy and defy +.
The one for defy use froyo kernel and the one with defy + uses ginger bread kernel and both run Android 2.3.7 at the top. if you have defy red lens you can install defy+ versions aswell. Only green lens defy users can't use gb kernel versions because of camera problems. I haveregular red lens defy and always use defy + builds. GB kernel known to have better battery life to froyo kernel.
Sent from my MB526 using XDA App
Then, I may have Gingerbread, cause I installed "Whiterabbit Plus Edition".
Now I wonder if I made a mistake when installing and I used the zip from the non Plus version.
Is there a place where I can find if I have Froyo or Gingerbread?
Edit: On "SETTINGS->ABOUT PHONE" I have: Mod version: CyanogenMod-72-120127.0846-NIGHTLY-Defy+
You must see in Settings -> About Phone -> Kernel version.
The problem is that I don't know what kernel version is Froyo or GB.
I read the WhiteRabbit's thread and it's Froyo Kernel. So, you can't have vsel4.
WhiteRabbit Plus is only for Defy+ battery, but still be the same kernel as non plus...
DOWNLOAD WhiteRabbit Plus Edition v.1.4.1
nur für Defy+ 2.3.6 und höher User / MD5 = 0a593496e5dc280eef4f2dce27617ff2
Only a small Update with 2 new languages in Aroma and 3 BatteryFix that are copied on your SD Card if you use a Defy+.
But you don't need to download it, because the fixes can also be downloaded here in this topic. Just try which fits you best.

I have the same problem.
I use SetVsel instead of bootmenu to overckock my defy+, because it can manage clk4 and vsel4 values.
Is it safely?
My ROM is euroskank cm7 kang for defy+

[Q] how to change voltage under flexReaper R12

Hello,
Acer A500, running latest FlexReaper (R12).
I would like to change the voltage of the processor
(specially when screen is off, and wifi is off : I switch off the wifi when tablet is sleeping)
with Voltage control and SetCpu it seem that I can't
is it a kernel limitation ?
I don't find other kernel easy to install, without changing the rom
any help would be great
Olivier
Hey orobin. It's a limitation of the kernel right now. You can't overclock or underclock flexreaper right now. Currently there are no kernels available to do this unless you try Thor's ICS rom which can be found on tegraowners. No overclockable ICS roms on XDA though.

Stock ROM Overclock(Question)

Hi there!
My GTI 5800 is with the froyo 2.2 update from the Samsung Kies.
I like very much how it looks.. colorful icons, colorful settings, everything..
Today i decide to overclock it, but im not sure about some things, and i would like to ask you guys.
1.Should I use custom kernel ? and is it a safe for my phone, also is he will affect my battery consumation?
2. How much i can overclock it ( In MHZ) ?
if you have some experience with that guys please share
And if i overclock it succsessfully, what will be battery lasting difference (if you have already try of course).

1. Yes you can use custom rom i prefer to use G3Mod and it is quite safe and as for battery consumption it depends on how old your battery is i suppose
2. the max i think is 1260Mhz but you can adjust it using setcpu
I think first you'll need to root your phone using 'superoneclick root' (search it in google). Then flash a custom kernel. The guy above says G3MOD but the new G3MOD kernels have horrendous battery drain so for overclocking you should use fugumod ultra (which overclocks to 1366MHz) or fugumod 800MHz (which obviously overclocks to 800MHz).
You can control how high you want the MHz to be using pimp my cpu app (free on play store) or setcpu (paid app on play store).
Your battery life will be about 2 days if you use the 800MHz and 1 or 2 days if you use the 1366MHz one. Whichever overclocked kernel you use, it WILL decrase your battery life.
Click thanks if I helped
first root your device using superoneclick.. fellow instruction in below link..
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1011555
then flash OC .tar file of G3Mod kernel using odin from there..
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=26082562#post26082562
after flashing the OC kernel install setcpu to control overclocking frequencies...
if u r new to the flashing then follow the below step..
1) Start Odin (if using windows 7 or vista right click Odin and use run as administrator)
2) Check "One Package" checkbox
3) Check “Reboot” checkbox
4) Check protect ops checkbox (Don’t check this if you are flashing I5801 with I5800 firmware for the first time.)
5) Check reset time checkbox, keep the default value as it is i.e. 300 don’t select any other options.
6) Hit reset files button once.
7) Click ops button and select OPS file for I5800
8) Click one package and select the firmware you want to flash. The file must a .tar file.
9) Now connect your phone to pc.
10) Odin will show yellow color and com port no. in the first box on top in Odin.
11) Click Start and watch the progress bar and timer, wait until PASS message appear on Message box.
12) wait until rebooting phone.
FIRST REBOOT WILL TAKE TIME SO BE PATIENT...
if it helps hit thanks button..

I cannot follow you here...g3mod 2.5 gives you high stability and more battery live than stock. dunno how a custom kernel does things differently, but my last cycle was 4 days. (low usage of course)
IMHO Fugumod kernels are more stable.
667 mhz is the perfect
there is a kernel 1400 mhz but is only for i5801 "g3mod v1.9 extreme"
for i5800 there is a kernel 1336 mhz kernel "g3mod v2.1 oc+"
when the of overclocked to 700 mhz and up the phone finishes the battery very (one or two hours)
at 667mhz overclocked you can surf on the internet play games and more other
for more then 9 hours and have left to you another 50% battery to do with
THE BEST KERNEL IS G3MOD NON-OC V2.4

No offence but you don't have a clue what you're saying. Any kernel on this forum will work on i5800, i5800L and i5801. Also, 667MHz is the normal frequency. It is not overclocked. Anything over 667MHz is overclocked.
The best OC kernel would have to be fugumod 2.4 800MHz in my opinion but some users prefer G3MOD but it causes crazy battery drain for me. Fugumod is overclocked and it also has good battery life and stability.
Press the thanks button if I helped
I changed my opinion and installed Kyrllos 9.6 ROM. I like it. it`s a fast and without any problems.
I use it with G3MOD 2.5 NON-OC kernel and i have good speed and about 2 days battery life.
Now i will try fugumod 2.4 beta3-OC-800mhz kernel. I tested standart version but phone lags. otherwise the battery life i s amazing with it.
P.S
fugumod 2.4 beta3-OC-800mhz causes lag too. I will back to G3Mod 2.5 non-oc

Cannot overclock higher than 2.26GHz?

Hi, I have a Samsung Galaxy Note 3 N9005.
I installed a custom recovery and rom 2 days ago, first rom being phronesis 2.0 rom.
From there I tried overclocking my device but all apps show me 2.26ghz is the max my device can go, apps used include: kernal auditor, setcpu, trickster mod and no frills cpu control.
I searched the forums a bit and so I thought flashing a new kernel would help. I flashed Arter97s kernel and it still didn't allow me to overclock higher than 2.26 ghz, then I tried audax's kernel with no luck.
Then today I moved on to Tesla 5.1.1 Rom, and I still cannot overclock higher
I yet again reflashed arter97s kernel and still I am having no luck.
Any help?
Thanks

This is the limitation of the kernel. It provides the frequencies it supports, so you need a kernel with OC support. I do not OC, so sorry, no clue which to take which even is allowed to talk about here. ShinTo was supporting it AFAIK, but they had to leave due to not providing the source and thus violating the GPL.

I am able to overclock my 9005 up to 2.7GHz with mentioned apps. I am not sure which kernal I am using. I have Phronesis 5.0 on and am getting ready to flash 5.2. The only shlep is that I need to set the frequency after each reboot. I wish this could be included in a kernal.
Try using leankernel: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2488082 I had same kind of problem then I flashed this and used kernel auditor. Now everything works perfectly!
Can't Flash Kernel on note 3 sm-n900
I have been looking for solution at multiple sites. Hope to get answer here. I have downloaded a stock rom lollipop for my note 3 sm-n900.
I was successful at overclocking it to 2.1ghz but i want it to be at 2.7ghz and the current kernel does not support it.
I tried flashing three different kernels lk-hltemo 6..., lk-hlte v6 and lk-hlteu 6... using CWM and TWRP but kernel didn't flash.
Somebody pleaseeeee helppppp....
