[Discussion][P3113] Stock JB Update - No Activesync for Calendar - Galaxy Tab 2 General

Is anyone having issues with SPlanner and an Active Sync connection since the upgrade? I can get email to work fine, but the calendar refuses to cooperate. It only shows some of my events, and it appears to put re-occuring events all in the same day. So I get 52 events (a years worth) in one day.
Performed a hard re-set and did not fix it.
Installed the Google App Calendar and it did not work as well.
This worked on ICS.
Ended up installing Touchdown and it works perfect. Hope there is a patch before my 30 day trial is up.
Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 7" with stock JB.

Do you mean the calendar app? I dont have Splanner on mine but the 'stock' calendar works as it should.

Thanks- yes I am talking about the stock calendar. Thanks for the information.

Anyone else having problems with the YouTube app with the new JB update?

No, but I will roll back to ICS. This JB sucks really.

Maybe I can ask it this way. Who has success with JB and Activesync? Does anyone use theirs for work?
Specifically I am asking about calendar syncing.
Thanks again

[HOWTO]Sync All Google Calendar Appointments?

Looks like everytime i flash a new rom, google calendar will only sync the last month or 2 of my appointments.
Is there a way to sync ALL items to my N1?
I jump ROMs quite a lot, but don't seem to have any probs? Perhaps it's something you're doing?

[Q] AOSP Google calender

Is there any way to use the stock calender with this phone. Samsung changed the calender to make it look better but crippled it's functionality. Having no alert option and having no way to change which calender is default is annoying. I've used a couple of roms that simply removed the samsung calender, but the calender replacements like jorte don't sync with google cal. Am I simply missing something?

Try smooth calender, free in the market.
Sent from my CDMA Hero. I got some hot Froyo on Hero action here!
Does this allow you to change the alert function on the calender from discreet to alert? I'm assuming it syncs with Google calender because it's a widget.

Hmm... I'm not sure about the alert. Never needed one, personally, and yes, it syncs with g calender.

While true, it's worth noting that it doesn't work.
How doesn't it work? It doesn't sync with google or do an alert? I have a job where I'm constantly running around and need to be reminded of things. With the subtle alert, you have to remember to look for the alert, which defeats the purpose. I really appreciate all the input I've received so far? Any other solutions?
I am on bubby's rom and the calendar works great...I don't know what people mean by it not working. I agree with OP, as it irritates me having to change those settings for every event. I do use Calendar Pad from market for my widget and all is good here.

Jorte syncs perfectly. Just choose the google calendar as the default for adding.

The developer of the ROM states as a known bug: "Stock Google calendar force closes"
So this may be an issue with some but not all. Personally, I got constant FCs with the stock calendar supplied with that ROM.
Check out this page for the vibrant. It works the same for the fascinate and its incredibly easy to accomplish.

Thanks for all the input. I know that there are several widgets that will syc wigh gcal, but I would like one that also does the full screen pop up alerts when you have a calender event. The stock calender does that, but I don't think any other calender does.

What about using Tasker and setting a profile to perform a popup alert on a calendar event?

Yes. You can find it in the market. It's a paid app but you can download a trial from the developers site. Just do a google.
Sent from my SCH-I500 using XDA App
I'll give it a look. Thanks.
I tried tasker, but I'm realizing that I just hate the samsung calender. They took out took much functionality. It defaults to a calender that doesn't sync with google, you can't auto launch maps or other apps from it. It's just too crippled and I use it a lot for business. I tried bubbles rom, but when I restore data I have no calender at all. Strange.
I think launcher pro has the best widget calender.
Sent from my SCH-I500 using Tapatalk
I tried bubbly's rom and it doesn't work. I also tried to install the calender myself, but I didn't have better luck than bubbly. It seems that there is something that just keeps it from working. I will look deeper into tasker and see if I can figure something out. I'm curious to find out if anyone has successfully managed to replace the stock calender with aosp and been able to successfully change it to alerts from taskbar notifications. When the time for the alert to happen goes off, the calender force closes.

N1 Calender widget stopped working after 31st

Hi I have a strange problem with my nexus one, my Calender widget stoped showing any appointments after 31st December! !!
Has this happened to anyone else? And what is the fix for it?

My calendar stopped syncing after the 1st. Would love to have fix for this as well.
Just tested Calendar sync, it is still working fine.
I don't use the default Calendar widget, I use Pure Calendar Widget, and it is still working fine.
I had some calendars stop synching too. I just deleted them from the phone, and readded them, and there good again...

Gmail and LauncherPro

Ive used the Gmail application since Ive had my phone and Ive been using LauncherPro for about 2 months now as my default launcher. LP has always showed the email count in the launcher until this recent Gmail update. Now it doesnt even with the option checked too.
Anyone have any idea? Ive tried reinstalling LP with no luck.
It may have something to do with the Gmail update, since it adds Priority Inbox support, and the notifications are set up different. Try going to the Gmail settings - your email account - Labels to notify - make sure your Inbox and Priority Inbox are set to notify. If they are, maybe the LP developer needs to update to accommodate the new Gmail changes?
The newest gmail update has blocked access for all third party apps to access it. Multiple apps like launcher pro and missed it do not work now.

I assume the devs know about it then. I guess revert to the old one until an update comes around.

To add onto what everyone previous has said, the dev. of launcher pro made a blog post on his site (launcherpro.com) about this latest gmail update.
I didn't know that. Does the developer have plans to update?
Sent from my ADR6300 using Tapatalk
Dev was supposed to rewrite the entire program. That was awhile ago and no dice. Not sure if there is a work around the gmail issue anyways.
Sent from my ADR6300 using Tapatalk
it's not just lp,it's any home launcher that uses the notification

You can try rolling back to a previous version, but unfortunately we're at the mercy of Google right now.
it works fine for me, and i've been using launcher pro for a while now. no i don't have the e-mail count but the notifacation pull down is just good looking in gingersense.

I'm fairly certain almost everything else in launcher pro is running like normal for everyone with the exception of the gmail integration due to gmail's recent update.

[Q] Facebook Contacts Sync Won't Work

Hey guys,
I could not find any recent related issue
Basically Contacts sync for facebook is not pulling a single record into my contacts. All other account contacts show up, but facebook's
I already tried turning fb sync on and off, clearing app cache and data, uninstalling, reinstalling... Turning off all other sync services... Clearing data and cache from my contacts... And all of that
This is happening on my nexus 10 as well :\
Any ideas, suggestions?
Thanks
I noticed fb app was recently updated!
Is this a confirmed bug?

Its a Facebook issue as syncing isn't natively supported in stock android. Unlike HTC Sense and Samsung TouchWiz which support it as its baked into their phones. I use an app called Contact-sync for Facebook, it fixed all my FB syncing problems.
use a app named haxsync

haxsync is worth the price. Gets nice high res contact pictures and adds events and birthdays into your regular calendar app. perfect.
Get haxsync. It not only syncs contacts it syncs Facebook calendars too. Well worth the dollar or two.

It's between Facebook and Google - they had a hissy fit on who 'owns' the contact data on your phone and until they make up it's never gonna be (officially) fixed

Your question was answered by kzoodroid.
Android Jelly Bean does not support contact syncing with facebook.
Device manufacturers like HTC and Samsung added the facebook contact sync into their own devices.. Because they have a contact app (phonebook) that pulls your contacts status updates and such.
Nexus 4 is LG, so no Facebook Contact Sync.
Sidenote: The Contact Sync & Status Updates work for those contacts that have Google+ Profiles though.
Just open the contact, and swipe over, and you'll see their Google+ Info.

What app did you go with? I've never had any problems with Contact Sync for Facebook.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=ro.weednet.contactssync&hl=en
Also the new 2.0 update of Facebook supposedly was written with native code for Android but it still doesn't sync all my contacts.
Haxsync is still the best option in my opinion, the added functionality plus jellybean works too. Also I emailed the dev with an issue and received a response to resolve it the next day. Can't beat that!!

It's actually there for a reason. I'm not sure if you heard, but since a few months ago Facebook has been syncing your phone contacts with your facebook contacts. Not to add any info to your phone, but to add phone numbers and other information to your facebook contact book. It's really dodgy, and facebook was called out on it for not clearly informing users when they first started doing it. A lot of people still have no idea that their contact's phone numbers/email addresses/etc. are being used by facebook in that way.

Wait, so Facebook 2.0 syncs status updates and such now, and you're just having a problem with a few of your contacts? or did you mean to say that it still doesn't sync?
