Hi
i installed mincos rom with franco kernel and in the extras section he had a zip which was a jellybean bootloader update anyway i flashed it and it failed so it didnt flash then i flashed codefire x rom and francos kernel and when clicking reboot the phone just went black and now wont turn on. any ideas would be appreciated
Bootloader update? Did you screw up your bootloader?
Did you wipe between ROM flashes?
If you're worried about the bootloader, download the img that is linked in the "Return to stock" thread link at the top of general and flash through fastboot.
yh bootloader has been erased therefore cannot access fastboot.

So I ran into a little problem with my Nexus S (Model i9020a, Koodo network in Canada). I originally was rooted with vanilla firmware 2.3.4 and ever since ICS was released I thought I should unroot and get the OTA update. Only problem is that I unrooted it and updated it using a online i9020a 2.3.6 rom. It now says that my Carrier Info is now ATT on Fastboot Mode and when I turn on my Nexus S, I can't search for/connect to any networks. The updating process wiped my SD card so I don't appear to have any backups.
Is there anything you guys can do to help me out it would be greatly appreciated ? If this is posted in the wrong area I'll gladly post it on the right one.

this was one of the most helpful posts i have ever seen, good luck op
Hi Guys,
So I'd rooted the Nexus 4 by unlocking the bootloader and flashing the rooted kernel. I didn't flash a custom ROM after that. So what I had was a 4.2.2 Stock ROM with a rooted kernel so I could use the root functions. Now I get a system update notification after it downloads the new stock 4.3 on its own on my phone. But now since I don't have the stock recovery, selecting " Reboot and install update" after the system update downloads just leads me to the CWM recovery and obviously I don't have a custom update.zip to flash.
So my question is..How do I flash back the stock recovery and hence lose root and update to 4.3 without flashing the STOCK ROM back, thereby keeping my existing apps on 4.2.2. intact? So what I wanna do is flash the stock kernel which restores the stock recovery...Let the stock system update itself to 4.3 and then maybe Root the phone again..
Could someone kindly direct me to a solution?
Would appreciate a quick response
Cheers!
There's no way to restore to stock without wiping everything

Download the factory images, you can find stock recovery inside. Flash the recovery.img in bootloader mode.
Code:
fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
Kernel and recovery is 2 separated partition in Nexus 4, so flashing kernel won't restore your recovery.
I am on MK2 4.3 and I have Safestrap installed and I installed the recovery and when I reboot into recovery It goes to the Custom screen then it fails to Go to the Splash screen where I can choose to go into TWRP . I had this working on MF3 but I had bricked my phone and and had to flash the allin one to fix it . I am successfully rooted with safestrap installed .. ANY IDEAS would be greatly appreciated...Thanks By the way it Says Safe system : Not Active. I thought I remember it saying Active before
Also is there another way to install a Recovery. Im coming from a Tmobile GS2 where you could flash recovery once within Odin and after that you could just flash different versions of Twrp or Cwm when needed. No locked boot loader . I always thought HTC was the only phones with locked boot loaders . I have been doing a lot of reading prior to posting this question and have been up all night . After bricking last night and recovering from it I got a crash course with this device.

Check your root condition is valid. If you do not have root you can not install the safestrap recovery.
To go to the safestrap you do not need to reboot into the recovery. You simply reboot as normal and safestrap splash screen would come up.
You can use odin to flash the recovery in the download mode or you can use adb command to push the recovery.
AT&T and verizon G4 bootloaders are locked. You can not unlock like HTC S-off. You can only exploit the bootloader with different methods based on your firmware version.
Simply reboot the phone and on boot up it will show you the splash screen. Not active means that stock slot is still selected.

So I rooted my N4 while on 4.4 and installed a custom kernel for battery improvement .. it was francos kernel. I didn't unroot it ... then ...
Then I tried to update to Lolipop and it got stuck at logo. I've tried every flash I can find ... only 4.2.0 and 4.2.2 will take. Then after adding a sim and rebooting it gets stuck on logo again. Or if I click the OTA update it gets stuck on logo.
I've tried a lot of options in the nexus root toolkit.
Maybe I have the wrong radio or kernel for anything beyond 4.2?!?!
Please, any help would be appreciated.

BTW: when I attempt an OTA update from 4.2.2 to 4.3 it gets stuck at "Android is upgrading ... starting apps"
I think the baseband/radio is not flashing when I do "flash stock + unroot"
Any help?
Are you using the correct bootloader?
Many ROMs don't come with the bootloader and radio image. Even flashable stock ROMs.
If you want the latest lollipop I suggest this thread
http://forum.xda-developers.com/nexus-4/development/rom-stock-flashable-rom-t3084656
When I set up my device from scratch I did the following:
- format system, data, cache, dalvik in TWRP
- flash bootloader in TWRP
- flash radio in TWRP
- flash ROM in TWRP
- flash SuperSU in TWRP
- reboot
First reboot can take really long (up to 10 minutes may be normal still).

I'd recommend you to flash factory image instead, with fastboot.
This will give you a clean system without problems.
Hello. I wanted to update my G2(D802) from CM12 to 13 and now my phone is stuck at LG logo...
i flashed CM13, then gaps and then bootstack CAF and now i cannot access twrp using power and vol- buttons, i can only enter download mode. Maybe because i didnt flash them with the right order? What should i do now? i dont care if i flash cm13 or 12 or getting back to stock, i just need the fastest solution. THANKS.
Why dont you find the related threads in General and development sections . Read Read Read !
Flashtool and flashing stock ROM find threads about going back to stock rom.
you did the wrong order. its bootstacks reboot into recovery again from recovery then rom and gapps.
the way i did it was to clean wipe all and used a stock lollipop rom that was flashable.. cant remember if flashed hybrid bootstacks before..
when the rom was unzipped i couldnt open them they were in a different format i had 2 one was tar and the other .img.. so if am correct those are the kdz or tot roms in a flashable zip.. that was the easy way..
