hey guys,
i just got aware of an issue here. installed xylon v15 und faux kernel and set up everything so far. now im getting hints of my friends, that if they're trying to call me, they go directly to my voicemail.
dont know if sth went wrong with the change to my new micro-sim-card (had a mini-sim before) but i need to fix this asap.
but in custom roms, there is no call setting menu, so how can i fix this!?
thank you so much!!!
btw. outgoing calls function well.

They probably didn't activate it yet, happens regularly. Call your provider & check.
Edit; just saw that outgoing works. Still, call them, maybe some setting is borked.
If not try a different kernel, try Trinity for example.
hm. just calling them.
but how can i access those stock call settings?
wondering why no one misses them. i appreciate options like not sending my number in special cases.

Don't think you can. I mean a setting from their side. Can happen.

Make a backup and try a different rom, alternatively reflash your rom & gapps and see if that works.

? there is no such a setting in my settings menu.
i called the provider. he gave me some codes to typ in and call so that a possible call forwarding is disabled. and it worked. apparently they did a general forwarding to my card when the sim was changed. for whatever..
##21# disable general fw
##61# " fw when you're not answering
##62# " fw when busy
##67# " fw when phone is off
dont forget to call these codes afterwards.

So my assumption was right, good to know!
P.S. what he means with phone is the actual phone app, go in to that.
I've had some issues like this as well where I would get a voicemail notification, but my phone would never ring. Not sure why it happens. Most likely due to custom ROM/Kernel

I have a very big problem, i can recive messages but cant send them. Already tryied to: software - JVR, JVQ, and froyo one, go sms same thing, changing to GSM or WCDMA only. I have no clue, i can call and download thru HSDPA...
Check your apns. Google for the proper MMS apn for your carrier and make sure it is correct.

go into your messaging program. go into menu - settings. scroll down to "message center" if there is no number then google the SMSC number for your provider. put it in and it should work again.
good luck!

happened to me a few days ago; was on the road and it drove me crazy that I could receive but not reply to or send SMS. just had flashed a new rom and that might have been the reason. had to search for a while in XDA until I found this easy solution....
glad it worked for you as well.
cheers
Hey XDA!,
I am currently running the typhoon 2.3.7 rom. I have tried almost EVERY rom there is but this problem still persists.
The texts i send out dont get delivered sometimes. Sometimes they get delivered after 4 or 5 hours. I recieve texts late too sometimes. Is this a radio problem? I have radio 2.15.50 installed.
Or maybe is there a problem with my network provider?
Thanks,
Adil

Go to settings > Mobile networks > Access Point Names. Most of the time these are auto-detected correctly but occasionally they're wrong. All you have to do is contact your carrier and request the apn settings (there's also a 'sim toolkit' app in CM7 and CM9 but it hasn't worked for me, I just get a message from o2 saying that they were unable to send me the settings).

Ok I have done that. The operator of Mobilink told me that APN settings are required for MMS and mobile internet only. He sent me the mesage center number. What do i do with it?
Your messaging app could be closing due to low memory try locking app in memory via cyanogenmod settings>performance>lock msging app. See if that works.

Hey there,
I got my new Nexus yesterday and just discovered no outgoing or incoming calls are possible whereas SMS and apps like Whatsapp work fine.
Does anybody have an idea about this problem or what I can do to find out what it might be related to?
Thanks a lot!

This may sound stupid, but do you have a sim in it?
Two things:
1. Who is your service provider?
2. What are your APN settings are you using?
Sent from my Nexus 4 using xda premium
Of course I have SIM in it. How am SMS supposed to work without
My service provider in Germany is O2. But I don't know how to get detailed APN settings I can just give you the name with is "o2 internet".
Does this help in anyway?
Are you using lte? If so make sure to not set use lte only, otherwise you will not be able to make calls in certain areas.

You don't need APN settings for calls -_- Try enabling 2G only, then ring O2 to check your account and any service issues in your area.
Can you try another sim? My sim once broke and I couldn't call anymore, but I could send and receive messages.
i'm having the exact same issue now :| I can't hear anything on the earpiece or speaker nor can my friends hear me speak :/
Hopefully someone can provide me a solution to this headache of a problem. I was on straight talk (at&t) and I stopped receiving MMS messages. I tried every APN configuration I could find and none worked. I installed a different rom and they worked for a while and stopped. I decided to try out project fi so I didn't try a new sim. I also restored to stock for a fresh start. My Fi service started today and I'm still not able to receive MMS messages. Sending them works fine as far as I can tell. I called Google and none of their solutions worked and they told me the port can take time to fully go through. While I was waiting for the port to complete I used my straight talk sim on my one plus 2 and did receive a picture during that time. Is it possible that the problem is with the phone itself? Does anyone have any other solutions I can try? Dialing some set of symbols and numbers to get into additional phone settings or anything like that? This is driving me crazy! Thank you for any advice that you can provide me!

I've heard that some add blocking apps can screw with mms. Have one of those installed?
I had a similar problem on AT&T. I fixed it by deleting any unneeded APNs and using the stock "Messenger" app. I use to use SMS Go Pro but it failed to send any MMS texts. It worked fine on my Nexus 5. Also using Google Hangouts didn't work.

I tried that with straight talk too without success. With Fi there are no APN settings. I'm using the stock messenger app as well. One other thing is that I can send myself a picture and it goes through, which is weird. I can't figure out why I can send but not receive. Thank you!

Have you tried Textra as your messaging app? They have mms settings where the wifi turns off temporarily when sending or receiving a message. I had a little trouble with mms, and then I set my apn to Ipv4/ Ipv6 and implemented the wifi fix in Textra. There are also other settings for Project Fi in the advanced settings.

I have Android Device Manager as a Device Administrator as well and I get MMS fine. I'm on Verizon though, and I had to change the APN settings (actually, only 1 of the MMS of the many I sent out seemed to not get sent completely).

I hate to resurrect a dead thread, but I'm having this issue too. Removing ADM as a Device Admin, deleting extra APN's, adding chrome as the default browser, and only using Messenger did not help. Then I noticed that when my phone first turned on, I would send and receive any MMS messages that were trying to download or send at the time of the reboot. So I wondered if another app was messing with the MMS function. So I downloaded aSpotCat to see what had permissions to SMS functions, and went into Settings -> Apps and disabled the SMS permission from each app other than stock Google. Rebooted. Testing now. I'm going to try pulling some logcats this weekend when I find the time.
--edit--
for what it's worth, with all but the stock apps having the SMS permission blocked, after a reboot, about 15 minutes in I am able to send / receive MMS messages now. I lost the ability after about 2 minutes after boot prior to this. I'll keep testing, and re-enable the permissions later to see if I can replicate the problem and pull a logcat.
Full list of apps I had installed requesting SMS permissions (the ones in red I disabled):
Amazon Shopping
Contacts
Google App
Google Play services
Google Play Store
Hangouts
Messenger
RingPack
ROM Toolbox Pro
Snapchat
Tasker
Titanium Backup
I also had TrueCaller and AT&T Visual Voicemail Viewer, but I just uninstalled those
