[Q] Can I install AOKP on Nexus 7 3G - Nexus 7 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello, this will be my first time installing a ROM and my question is can I install AOKP on the 3G version of N7 because I saw that the non-3g version is called grouper and mine is called tilapia and I only see grouper on their release page. Thanks

Start by reding the rom threads and see if they are completable with nexus 7 3g, if yes then yes if no then no.
Simple method.
And please ask questions in Q&A section.

OK I will check out their forum. And sorry for no making it in the Q&A section, didn't see it. You can move it if you want

I couldn't find a topic about this. Has anyone tried to flash it on the 3g version ?

Go to the d/l section under "My PUB".
This is from a top notch DEV and he is also part of the AOKP team.

Hmm, maybe this can help you
PS way posting a question about Android build in a WM ROM thread?
lol first result: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=835336
Why cant you just give a direct answer and not be a smartass
why dont u stop spamming the development section and find your way to Q&A section!
Could you then direct me to the correct area of q &a

which Mod can take the challenge to close this thread?
I HATE YOU!!! I saw this thread and thought an Android ROM had been released only to have my hopes destroyed. I hope you burn in hell!!
Im joking.
Thread moved to Q&A.

Dualbooting Android and Blackbuntu???

Does anyone know how to partition the Xoom so I could say put about 10gb for another Linux Distro instead of just running it as a "live cd".
I want to also put BlackBuntu on here thats why but be able to run it full not just through a VM.
Thnx
You should ask this in the development section. Might get an answer quicker.

I know but since its not anything dev and a question it doesn't belong there
No,you shouldn't ask this in the dev section. The dev section IS NOT for threads of questions of any kind.
OP, I am pretty sure the way you are doing it is the only way ATM.

And thats why I posted it here n dam ok, I wanna install crap but if reboots don't want to have to do it all over again... Thanks. Thinking if i can just partition 10gb to it would be perfect for installs and such.
Not to threadjack but I have a question myself. I installed Ubuntu running through VNC and I'm missing my browser. How do I get my browser? What is the difference between the version I installed in the dev section and the version you are trying to install?
My version of Linux is Pentest where they are just wanting "vanilla" Ubuntu. Mine has extra things included in it.

I'd reckon. Talk about the ultimate in laziness. There are a number of threads on the front page of the Nexus 4 Android Development forum which answer all your questions.

Seriously, buddy, search is your friend. People can't just go around compiling videos for you because you claim to be a visual learner and are unable to search.
wow thank you for the people who helped but come on guys this was a noob friendly question.....seriously.

[Q] privileged commands

I installed SmoothROM v4.4 and when I install an app that needs root gives me the message: "An error occurred while attempting to run privileged commands!"
I installed superuser and supersu and if they are not active, do not respond in any way.

You should read the rules before creating a new thread.
If you have a question about a specific ROM, kernel, etc., you should post the question in the thread dedicated to that ROM, kernel, etc. If there isn't one, questions looking for an answer should be posted in the.....wait for it........wait for it...... Question and Answers forum.

I'm new on this forum and I am not allowed to post in the right place.
(Nexus 7 > Nexus 7 Android Development > [ROM][Feb 09][4.2.1] SmoothROM v4.4-Smoothest ROM-Deodex-Zipalign-Tablet UI-Stable)
You must post at least 10 times and after those able to write to the right place.
Stupid rule! Looks like you do not know the rules!
I solved with another kernel, namely M-Kernel. The problem was from Cyanogen kernel. It's not the first time this happens to with Cyanogen.
Re: privileged commands
So you couldn't post your question in the Q/A forum like I also mentioned?

Let it go.
No need to turn this into some kind of XDA crime scene investigation. You made your point above. And your sarcasm was really not needed to make your point.

AOSP rom ?

Hi,
Is anyone working or know of some project to get an AOSP rom on the edge+ ?
Or even better, a Cyanogen port. I might be interested in trying that for myself but I haven't worked on roms for years, and never actually developed for android so I figured I'd ask first

Actually, searching the help / q&a section first would have been a better idea. All of the following threads mention either aosp or Cyanogenmod:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/s6-edge-plus/help/cyanogenmod-t3293182
http://forum.xda-developers.com/s6-edge-plus/help/port-cm13-to-device-t3272925

http://forum.xda-developers.com/s6-edge-plus/help/thinking-buying-note5-t3215278
Not to mention the following thread only a few down in the list from yours in the General section:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/s6-edge-plus/general/cyanogenmod-13porting-t3306639
The first rule of xda is search before posting :good:
