I'd reckon. Talk about the ultimate in laziness. There are a number of threads on the front page of the Nexus 4 Android Development forum which answer all your questions.

Here's a video that I think will explain things for you a bit:

Seriously, buddy, search is your friend. People can't just go around compiling videos for you because you claim to be a visual learner and are unable to search.

wow thank you for the people who helped but come on guys this was a noob friendly question.....seriously.

i didnt see an area for an intro thread so i figured i would post here..

let me be the first to say hello and welcome, xda is a great place to get all your answers so long as you follow the rules. please be sure to read through all stickies, and always search before posting and your stay here will be a great one.
Hello there.
Your guess that there wasn't any place for an intro thread was correct. Please don't post intro threads in the G2 section. Not sure about this, but there might be an intro section at the very top of the forum.

As with all xda forums, it is best to start by looking at the stickies. You should find the answers to most standard questions there. I'll apologise in advance if you've already searched that area
Edit...take a look at the 'the ulitimate TF information thread' in the stickies section.

Do I have the ICS bootloader installed?

I just want to make sure everything worked. I followed the thread by Civato as best I could, I have a new bootloader and recovery installed and running ICS.
I downloaded an app called: Acer Recovery Installer, it tells me I have the following installed:
0.03.14-MUL
Rom is stock ICS:
Acer_AV01_A500_1.041.00_WW_CUS1 --(build #)
Acer_AV01_A500_RV06RC01_WW_CUS1 --(image ver.)

Any who, if it says iconia tab a500 as a boot logo, then you have it.
Calm down guys it was the OP's mistake let's not bully them :L

Well, it's better to post in the Q&A with questions.
However, most have probably already been answered, so it's better to use the "search" feature first before creating a new thread.
Most issues, when it comes to changing bootloaders, you should be able to find the answer in either the Bootloader Guide thread, or the Bootloader Thread itself.
If you can't find the answer, then post in the Guide Thread, or the Bootloader Thread. If nobody can answer it, or doesn't answer, then you can create a new thread in Q&A.
Folks around her are generally helpful. I ran most of the Trolls away a few months ago
My best advise. Get your UID number before you even start. Write it down somewhere. We have a guide on how to do that.
Always read the guides. These were written by people who have been at the new unlocked bootloader and 3.2 and ICS from the very beginning. We did the original testing for most of this stuff a long time ago.

One more advice.
When you post questions, and people help you (whether right , or it just didn't work), it's a custom to select the "Thanks" button near their post (reply). It's a nice thing to do. You will find the "Thanks" button located under the user's Avatar.
You are allowed to use the Thanks button 5 times each day I believe.
Welcome to the A500/501 forums!

my A501 arrives today, my goal is to end up with Thor's JB ROM on it. I have a "little" experience from running custom roms on my Motorola Defy, but that bootloader thread is really doing my head in.
I've found this which as a newbie totally makes sense to me and is a great guide for starters.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1205204
Hopefully I can figure out the Bootloader part ok, or could someone recommend a particular bootloader with the end goal of using JB in mind perhaps?

S3 stock rom but still binary count

Couldnt use triangle away when restoring to stock. So I went t stock with odin then rooted again then used triangle but I forgot to check if it went to 0. So I put stock on and go into dowload andbit shows binary count 1. Will it work if I root again then use triangle and still be able to sell phone with warranty

There was a problem with JJe's link. They all pointed to "no questions here thread"
OP, follow link in my signature to sticky roll-up thread.
As mentioned, read first 2 threads - but you actually need to read the returning to stock threads there too. the second one contains more in-depth info about using triangle away, which is where you need to focus,
