[Q] Nook color V1.0 restore - Nook Color Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I have a nook color soft ware v1.0 (rooted) I want to put back to factory with the latest firmware from B&N. I cant seem to find how to do that. It's been a while since I have done this and could not find anything on the forum. Can someone please point me in the correct direction.
Thanks

Or maybe the question should be..how do I go about doing an upgrade from what I have to the latest rooted release.

Never mind... I got it.

[Q] Root

Hello dear,
i have installed a custom rom without a rooted phone. If i want to start my phone now, it shows the samsung logo, and than a black lighted screen.
Can someone please help me out? Please!
I have a Samsung gallaxy apollo i5800.
(is there an option to root your phone by putting some files at my sd card, and load them or something?)

I think yu bricked it...by flashing it again with fresh rom...will solve the issue..

In the 'Galaxy 3 Dev' forum, there are plenty of posts dealing with this issue.
You can look for them in the XXJPB or XXJPA firmware discussion threads, or the big rooting/upgrading/... thread.
For sake of brevity: reflashing with an older, stock firmware (preferably eclair) usually fixes the problem.
Edit: This issue has no relation to the rooting process, only to the firmware flashing process. (You don't need a rooted phone to flash a firmware, nor will trying to root your phone fix this issue.)

[Q] URGENT/ASAP HELP PLEASE - Selling Phone Tommorw

Hey
I have a Galaxy S4-19500. It has the official 4.3 android stock ROM installed. I have tried to flash a stock kernel onto the phone but nothing changes.
How can I get this to stock before I sell it tomorrow?
Also is there anyway to get rid of binary count im on stock unrooted but still getting 1 warranty bit

This is an image of my software settings atm.
Your help is deeply appreciated.
Bumb bumb bumb bumb
Nothing wrong here.
I don't see anything wrong with this. If you haven't tried rooting this before with 4.2.3 then flashed the new 4.3 Firmware manually, you'll be just fine.

Why don't you just flash a new stock rom and start afresh. As for the warrant bit, i don't think you can reset it sorry.
RULE 5. Create a thread or post a message only once.
As a large forum, we don't need unnecessary clutter. You're free to edit your message as you like, so if you do not receive an answer, revisit your message and see if you can describe your problem better. Not everyone is online at the same time so it might take a while before you receive an answer. (Also refer to Rule 16)
RULE 16. Bumping Threads (posting simply to force a thread to the top of the thread queue)
Do not "bump" a thread more than once per 24 hours.
I only made two threads as one wasn't posted as a question, I tried to delete the other then realized I couldn't.
I needed help urgently i'm sorry if this caused any trouble. I just want the phone to be stock so I can sell it today with no problems.
I already flashed a stock ROM and it won't get rid of that kernel.
As for the bumping , I didn't read the rule and now I have I won't do it again.
So is the kernal i have at the moment stock? Because I remember getting it from Rom Switcher. Im not going to root the phone again.
Then why does it say installed OCT 14? Is that not a custom kernel?

[Q] Some questions about rooting

Hello guys, I have some questions I am hoping you experienced people can answer for me.
After doing a bunch of research, I am left a bit confused since a lot of the posts are older, and things have changed over the last few months, especially with locked bootloaders and such.
My current phone is:
-Samsung S4 (Fido based) SGH-i337M
-Android Version 4.3
-Baseband Version i337MVLUEMK6
I only want to ROOT the phone, so I can remove a bunch of excess Samsung bloatware that I never use, I am not really interested in custom ROM's at this time.
1. What is a Custom Recovery exactly?
I keep reading about Custom Recoveries but I don't really know what they are exactly... . Is this just a Firmware mirror that I can go back to at any time AFTER I root the device? Do I need to root the device to CREATE the Custom Recovery?
2. CAN I go back to "Stock" easily? Can I just find the original 4.3 Samsung FW and load it up?
3. I know that moving to 4.4 will require another Root when it becomes available later this month from Samsung, however can I go to the Default Android 4.4 ROM at this time, skipping all the Samsung Stuff?
4. I see a programmed called KINGO offering to root my phone for me, but then somebody said something about there not being a Custom Recovery available for it, which goes up to my original question. Can I not just revert back to unrooted status after?
Thanks to anybody who can help me with these noobish questions, I appreciate it.
I don't have your model so don't want to guess at rooting.
But:
Do not remove Bloatware after rooted. Get Titanium BackuP from the Market. The paid version (support devs) and just freeze the apps until you know they have no negative impact after freezing.
Do a Nandroid ASAP and put a copy on PC also.
Read this on your Recovery question:
http://freedupthoughts.com/2013/04/what-is-custom-recovery-why-should-i.html
You have an unlocked bootloader with the i337m
Someone else can address correct rooting for your specific device and get the correct recovery for it. I prefer TWRP.

[Q] Rooted SM-N9005 upgrade to Lollipop

Edit: Sorry, I have seen that one isn't meant to post questions here but I haven't seen an option to delete this thread, if someone wouldn't mind doing it for me or moving it to the correct place that would be appreciated.
I have a rooted Note 3 SM-N9005 on 4.4.2, I also have ClockwordMod recovery installed I believe. I have managed to get here without really knowing what I'm doing, so I'm struggling to figure out how best to upgrade to Lollipop. I have seen there are nightly CyanogenMod images, however I would like something stable. My problem is that I don't know what the criteria would be for selecting an image. I've seen the Polish official one, but I don't know whether that would be any good for an English language user and I don't know what I'd need to do to get my phone in a state ready to install this image.
Is anyone able to say, in relatively simple terms, what I'd need to do to upgrade to Lollipop please? If there are any more details I can provide let me know.

You can find all the info you need in this post.
Don't know what your firmware is but the oldest base you can go is NB1 (4.4.2).
Root the phone with towel root.
Install either flash fire or safestrap and flash the desire lollipop rom.
Hello! I don't want to start a new thread just yet, but I'm also stuck in a bootloop after a mishap during a manual update. Is it possible to recover any of the internal files when recovering the phone, or is it impossible? Honestly, I just want the files off of my phone more than anything else. There are a lot of memories there that I would love to save...I know, I know, I should have backed up those files, but that chance is gone now. :crying:
