I am following the youtube video on how to "Nexus 10 One Click ROOT and Unlock Bootloader, Custom Recovery...." using the toolkit. And everything goes fine until minute 5:40 of the video, when after rebooting and enabling "USB debuging" the toolkit is supposed to start doing its magic again.... but mine get stuck on "waiting for Device"!!!!
I have tried several times, and my Nexus 10 is now unlocked. But that is it. I
have even tried by putting the option that the tablet is unlocked, and it gets stuck on "waiting for device" again.
since i am new and dont have 10 post, i can ask this question in the development threat. Can anyone help?
Never mind..... I decided to follow the instructions found on
http://droidmodderx.com/nexus10/rom-paranoidandroid-2-99-6-4-2base-hybrid-mode-12312/ and got my Nexus 10 rooted and running Paronoid Android

Hey guys, I am having a hard time making this program work for my n7. I have the n7 32gb wifi with 4.2.1 JOP40D and I put those settings into the program, went into developers mode in the device, put the device on usb debugging and put it in airplane mode. Anyhow, I am trying to back up all apps and I get a message saying "Rebooting your device" then a second later it changes to "Waiting for your device to finish booting back up.." Well my device isnt rebooting or anything. I try manually rebooting but that doesnt change anything. I even tried backup all apps System apps+data and it does the same thing. When I try to exit the program it wont even close, it just hangs so I have to go into task manager to end it. Anybody have any ideas on what I am doing wrong? I want to make sure I have a backup file as I don't want to brick my device.
Check your drivers. There is a thread here on how to do it.

Something similar happened when I rooted mine. First of all make sure you have unlocked it, its very obvious while booting if you have unlocked the boot loader because a big open lock will show at the bottom of the screen during start up. Secondly, and the thing that worked for me, is to change the toolkit to "Android *.*.*.* any" in the model selection menu. As soon as I did that everything worked perfectly.
Thanks for the help guys, it turned out to be my drivers.
Wug's root toolkit won't recognize recovery version??
Hello, I recently upgraded to Wug's v. 1.6.2 and every time I start to use it, it says I have an "old" version of TWRP, 2.3.blah, blah and it wants to install update to latest 2.3.blah, blah........only thing is, I am on the latest 2.4.1.0!!!! Why does it not correctly recognize my recovery??? Thanks in advance.
My buddy is having issues with wugs toolkit getting drivers installed. He installs them but then when he goes to unlock and root its as if drivers are not there. Any ideas? I have been trying to help him with this to no avail he is running windows vista.
Thanks in advance for any ideas

Heya...
On my 16GB Grouper I had installed the stock rooted 4.3 rom. Yesterday a system OTA update message appeared on my screen - 1.7 MB. I let it download and install over night and just went to bed. Came back in the morning to a boot loop where the device got stuck with the four colorful thingies animation. I can access the bootloader, but the recovery seems to be broken. Can't remember if I had anything other than the stock one... Anyways, now I'm strugling to get this thing going again. I am a zero at ADB but willing to learn whatever is necessary to get me started with a working recovery at least. No tool root box will do anything really for me...
Thanks for your help in advance
Hey!
Had a problem just like yours. If your running windows then install this program its called nexus tool kit. I'm a newbie here but if you Google 'nexus toolkit wug fresh' you can find it
All you need to do is plug your device in and open the program, then select flash OTA with the boot loop option and then follow the on screen instructions
That should put you back to normal with a fresh start meaning all you data will be lost. You can also root from there to.

Yeah. It would be dumb to actually learn what you are doing to your device. You should totally use a toolkit.

Honestly, I'm just showing the user one way, I anticipated him of being a newbie. For the record, it shows you all the process's happening.

Thank you guys. You might not believe it, but I'm not a newb to Android or flashing. It's just that I've always been playing around with Samsung devices and there you'd normaly turn to Odin in case something went wrong. Here it's different.
Anyways, with this comprehensive guide I've been able to reflash a recovery image and my old rom. Unfortunately losing all of my data in the process, but there was no way to save it.

In case this happens to anybody else.

Hello
I was unrooting my nexus 7, for some reasons, and I just bought the tablet like 2 months ago, so I was unrooting through wugfresh, and made unroot to android 4.1, and when I bought the tablet, it was on 4.2, then, when it was booting up it showed the Google thing with unlocked boot loader, it was on that Google thing for more than 15 minutes, then pushed the power button to turn off and go to the bootloader and fix, but now i couldn't even boot in the bootloader, someone told me it's difficult to fix, but possible, by using adb, also what will happen if i sent it to Asus, will they repair it for some money, or they will just send it back?
Please help me!
Scary tho.

(Ill just get this out of the way at the start: I'm an Apple guy )
A year ago I bought a nexus 7 tablet (WiFi Only 2012 "grouper" model) because I realized how locked down Apple is :good:. I decided a couple of months ago to root it using the Nexus Root Toolkit and it went without a hitch. When KitKat came out I decided to unroot and install stock 4.3 and upgrade to KitKat (again worked perfectly no issues). Then I realize yet again that the Android stock sucks when compared to a rooted rom . Long story short I end up deciding to give Cyanogenmod a try since I've heard a lot of hype about it. I used the installer that they gave and was able start the process. About 1/4 into the install of the OS the installer decided to stop and quit (it gave me an error but i did not record it). The whole time the cyanogenmod mascot (blue android looking thing with the raised hand) remained on the screen of my device. I quit the installer and tried to run it again, and it could not locate my device. I tried rebooting my device using every method I know (Power, Volume, etc.) but i can to even get to the bootloader. When I try to reboot it comes up with the white Google logo for about 7 seconds or so and then pulls up the Cyanogenmod dude and my computer does not recognize the device (or so I think)
I'm trying to give as much info as possible as I am a COMPLETE newbie to Android. Steps made as dumb as possible would be very helpful ! If you need a picture of the screen I'm seeing just ask. (And I'm not worried at all about losing data)
-Quinton
(P.S. Stupid me decided I was too cool for a recovery, so I don't have one)
EDIT: Well I guess thats what I get for being an Apple guy... Apparently restarting your computer can fix absolutely anything
Held down volume up and down and power button all together and it wont boot to bootloader?

No, it was the weirdest thing! I couldn't even power it off either without it rebooting itself unless I held the power and volume up for more than 20 seconds...

So total black screen or does "Google" still display?

No it actually just displayed the cyanogenmod character on the whole screen couldn't do anything on the device but it finally works now, just needed to restart the PC and then run the installer again.
It's line the new cyanogen mod installer is not so safe.

Hey guys,
So the other day i was flashing my nexus to stock, and that all went fine, but when i went to OEM Relock it, my Nexus came to the Google boot stage, and wont go past that at all, i could leave it there for 8 hours, and nothing would happen. It is no longer rooted, and when i try to boot it in to recovery mode, there is an android symbol with an exclaimation mark. Though, i can boot it in to the Bootloader. Can anyone give me a hand? i'll be willing to do anything since this is my last attempt at salvaging my Nexus.
I don't actually need help, I'm merely ****posting so I can post in the thread I want to post in.
