How big chance have Htc hd2 to get Ubuntu for phone?
Soon there will be realesed Ubuntu image for Galaxy nexus, could be ported to beloved Hd2 or it will require some groundbreaking changes in Bootloader department?

Hello
It is possible to port Meego on X8 ?
Does any dev can port meego to our x8 ?
I think it is impossible because bootloader is still locked
Sent from my X8 using XDA Premium App
It's also Linux based, so maybe it will be possible to paort it after bootloader is cracked.
But, it will be a very hard work cuz our devices are old in tech world (old architehture), and I dont see any use of it...
Theres a lot of modifications to make, etc, etc.
Please check on meego.com for more detail. I know is.work on HTC hd2 so far nothing come out my head.

3-4days ago, I saw that HTC announced Titan and Radar.. and both the cpu is msm8255. Moreover Radar is 1GHZ.... So I think we can port wp7 to our DHD... What do you think?

Um why wp7 on the dhd?

It wolud be awesome a dual boot android wp7 but i think only cotulla can do it
Sounds interesting. I hope someone can do this id love to give it a try.

Well, the problem isn't just the chipset. There are also other hardware parts that probably aren't the same as in these devices.
And that parts are the problem because wp7 is closed source so you can't really modify drivers, kernel,... Since android is open source, the drivers can be "easily" modified or replaced by others.
But if HTC uses the exact same hardware in these devices, there is a SMALL possibility that it will be portet someday. But imo it's unlikely that it will be ported.

It would be awesome indeed. But I doubt that someone will do it.

In my opinion, if you want to use wp7 and don't want to spend very much, you can buy a used hd2 around 100€... I am playing with this idea now, because I use two phones and wp7 looks nice and works good, but my main phone is and will be my DHD with Android because android can do more, than I would wish on a phone. It's the most amazing operating system ever...
Sent from my HTC Desire HD-T2X using XDA Premium App
the question, why? I would have answered, just because of the good feeling that our phone can do that. I would never use W7 but I would like to try to look again and tell myself that the DHD with Android platform the best choice.
Well, if there are someone who will to create a new custom bootloader, den I think multi boot on multi os is possible

I saw someone discovered dual boot between sense rom and non sense rom....

[sarcasm] Wow, surprised this hasn't been asked before[/sarcasm] If you want WP7 on your phone go buy a windoze phone, it's closed source and would be a helluva a lot of effort for people to go to and why bother?.
Anyway MODS any chance you can close this thread as you have the other 100+ asking this question?
I suppose that it will be nice to have dual boot, but IMO wp7 sucks. The effort in achieving this is just not worth it.
Have wp7 on my work phone and I must say that win 6.5.x on my topaz is much better. Yes the speed and UI are better but some general things (which are very annoying in daily use) need to be polished.
Many missed calls as the wp7 can be powered off while phone is locked. So every time you put it in your pocked you must be sure that power button is face down.
i just can't honestly think why any one would want wp7 as a daily OS, maybe for a play, but why, really why?

Android is the best
ill stick to android..one of the best...
I for one would love to see WP7 dual boot with CM7 on my DHD. Even if it's just for a proof of concept. The new Mango update does give WP7 ability to run on DHD hardware. Maybe not e'thing would work but the chipset will be supported. So porting it to DHD shouldm't be that difficult.

Garbage suggestion
The Same question was in my mind and i was going to post topic about it right now
why there is no chance to get WP7 running at Desire HD ???
I want to know if it's possible to install Windows Mobile any version in Android based HTC Tattoo
There will be no chance of porting wp7 due to the strict hardware requirements such as screen resolution and cpu .....as for windows mobile may be we could as HTC touch 2 has similar specs and rums wm

I think no, because no developer is trying to make windows mobile rom for HTC Tattoo which feature the Android operating system and it is not easy
I have htc touch2 and as u may see on its forum people desperately want android on it...I'm not getting the need for wm7 on tattoo.... just go for latest cyano and you'll be happy

Hi,
Is it possible to have b2g/Fos on our DZ phones?
The project is still not compatible with all hardware. It is being developed on the galaxy s2 by mozilla developers. They want to first make the os complete first. Then they'll start supporting other hardware.

Can any one tell ,which phones are compatible in xperia 2011 line.?
Sent from my SK17i using xda app-developers app
I think only phones with novathor chipsets are compatible
Sent from my jb atrix 2
Probably no phone is yet compatible, because there are no ROMs here. After the release of Jolla phone people will probably start porting this OS to other phones.
Sent from my GT-I9100 using xda app-developers app
as far as i know the only compatible phone is the n950 at the moment.

Stop asking about that!
Sailfish compatible device == NEMO compatible device.
All devices who already can run NEMO, can run Sailfish.

I wish the Jolla team set a release date and I'll wait for the Jolla community devs to port it to android phones.
Will it work on my toaster.
