I want to know if it's possible to install Windows Mobile any version in Android based HTC Tattoo
There will be no chance of porting wp7 due to the strict hardware requirements such as screen resolution and cpu .....as for windows mobile may be we could as HTC touch 2 has similar specs and rums wm

I think no, because no developer is trying to make windows mobile rom for HTC Tattoo which feature the Android operating system and it is not easy
I have htc touch2 and as u may see on its forum people desperately want android on it...I'm not getting the need for wm7 on tattoo.... just go for latest cyano and you'll be happy

hey guys once the android is on nand for public release then will this make the hd2 an officcial android device or will it still be a winmo device?
What are you? Are you a man or a mouse?
Sent from my HTC HD2 using XDA App
It will remain a WinMo Device :
i.e. : ( looking in website for information you have to look for HD2 in Windows Mobile Devices, but it will be running Android as good as a native phone (hope so )
is android ever going to be on public release for the HD2

No, it's always going to run a hacked on version of android. It may never run as well as a native android phone... we don't have the huge team of developers that HTC has working for them.
But it does run great considering that our phones weren't meant to run android.

Possible to make windows 6.5 on wildfire?
everything it's possibile, but it's useless and you have to do a long work to do that...
lol, I thought everyone wanted it the other way round?
Why would you want to? Wm6.5 is obsolete and horrible... you'd have better luck porting Wine to Android I reckon!

Wine for Android? Is that even possible? And what would make that?
Sent from my HTC Wildfire using XDA App
Nah probably not, since Wine is not an emulator and requires an x86 CPU whereas most phones are ARM. There exists DOSBox, but Wildfire ain't good enough for it

why wm 6.5, the question shuold be wm7
Why do you want change to wm? There are many costume roms with a awesome style. Maybe you'll find another solution without wm
Is it possible to run a whole new OS (in this case I was thinking WP7 Mango Beta) on our phones. It would be like a port over. I'm not talking about a Metro UI, I'm talking about the real OS. The reason why I ask this is because I'm getting really bored with my phone. I think it would be cool dualbooting a whole new OS.
So, is it possible?
I know on the HD2 it is possible. A phone that originally only supported windows 6.5 now has native android, windows 7, meego and ubuntu. So it is not a far stretch of imagination to say that it is possible on the mt4g. Will it be done? I highly doubt it, but hey, who knows. Maybe you can be the first to do it.

Well I would have to say that since there are licensing issues with any version of windows that this is unlikely... As it would then be a pirated copy of the OS!

The hd2 is what brought this to my attention. I had another question, how is hd2 able to run windows phone 7 without pirating issues?

The hd2 was originally a windows phone. It can be used with android because some people were really determined and put in some hard work to make it work on that phone.

Good question! To which my only logical answer is... By law it shouldn't be able too unless there was a leaked test Rom or something. But it was a windows phone to begin with, so maybe less of a priority because of that... The reason the hd2 can run android is cause it is an open source product much like Linux and can be put on anything

If you want until windows 8 comes out, there might be some people working on it. Windows 8 will have ARM support which will make it easier to get working, but would still need drivers for certain functions.

I see....so it, in all technicality, it is possible to get WP7 on our phones, but because of legal issues and hardware compatibility problems, nobody bothers to attempt it?

No one will do it because it's illegal, the devs would get a cease and desist order if they even attempt to put it on other phones....It may be possible but the lack of drivers would make it a no go, I don't think drivers would need to be ported from other phones from htc using mango already.
Does anyone know if you can have Windows 7 and Android files on the HTC HD2 at the same time so you can switch which OS you use?

A dual boot has been possible for months.. You gotta search before you make a new thread dude..
I dont want to be rude or anything.. But there is so many people on xda that doesn't search at all.. and makes a bunch of new threads.. annoying

Make sure you have a backup SD. Windows phone 7 formats it like it is internal memory.

Eh. No. Where did you get the info that most windows phone can run android? You want a multi OS phone, get the HD2. To the best of my knowledge it's the only phone that can run WP7 and Android
I had two HTCs before my first motorola Cliq, both ran android, just check if you want, htc Vogue have cm7.1.
Still, arent all windows phones that have android, BUT, none of the android phones have a WM7 ROM.
I feel im talking to kids when i speak about this VERY OLD stuff xp (joke)
