When I woke up this morning (by my phones alarm) I found the phone in safe mode with all my apps missing. A simple reboot fixed it, but I really wonder whether anyone else has seen this and has any idea why it happened.
according to the uptime in phone information there has been no reboot and as I was sleeping it want me doing something either. So for some reason Android just decided to restart itself in safe mode...
Jpy with voodoo 5.2
it is said safe mode is caused by changing the sim of some error with the SD card

No.. The phone enters to safe mode when you start it while hitting (touching) the menu key. It has already been discussed in the forum.
You can anytime boot it to safe mode by touching continuously the menu button after pressing the power button.
Hy all! Just a little heads up:
I flashed espaciosalter20's battd.zip on Quarx CM10-20121018v3 Green lense and so on the phone doesn't see the sim card. No network, no pin asked for sim unlock. The battery percentage works. He had the original battd files, so i flashed them back and now the battery percentage is stuck on 100% and after a full Quarx CM10-20121018v3 it asks for the pin again but battery still on 100%. In charging mode the big battery displays just a question mark. In recovery the battery display is around correct.
Currently reading through many forums, but any idea will be appreciated.
Solved
Solved by:
I just flashed the original files and then copied the battd and libattd.so file from the new zip, set permissions and reboot. After reboot the battery was on 84% which is about right in my case. After a few minutes TED video it was on 81%, so it works. Calibration awaits.
Hello, I recently bought a used S4 I9500 and regret buying it in the 1st place!! , After the purchase I have come up with a number of issues, I dont know if its just my ignorance or something wrong with the phone setting or maybe it is a clone version of S4 !!!
Here it goes:
1)While trying to root,I noticed that the button combo ( Vol up + Home + Power for the recovery mode) takes me to a Factory Mode screen, where they have options to do a Full Test, Item test, Test report etc....and the combo (Vol down + Home + power for download mode) takes me to the recovery mode screen. Now my question is how do i enter Download mode?? And also How do i get rid of the Factory mode screen?
2)When i connect my phone to the pc it doesnt show me the 16GB internal memory space but only 2 GB eMMC memory or wat ever u call it. It shows correctly in the phone but i cannot access the 16GB space even from the phone.
I also noticed that the phone is running a custom boot screen with a flashing "Android" not the default Samsung boot picture. So was thinking it has a custom Rom installed. And if that was the cause.
3) The phone is perfectly fine just that when I insert the Sim card and have Data connection turned on, the screen seems to show some interference when there is data transfer activity on the net. I dont knw the exact term to describe it but i should say shaky. But when I press the Sim card case it becomes normal.
4)When i run CPU-Z , all seems to be normal except , the cpu architecture shows ARM Cortex-A9 and the screen resolution shows only 480x800, Internal memory shows 0.49 GB,available storage :0.22GB. So is this a clone version of S4 ???? aarrrgggghhh!!!!
5) Its too late to return back the phone but now last question is how do i go back to the stock firmware or flash a CWM rom if Q. 1 is not resolved?

Can u post "about us" screen shot its mostly a clone
Or u can see in about us there must be "shine" written somewhere or check the android version it must be GB
There is a possibility that you might not get ANY rom back on it as the exact rom needed is ?
------Hello world of xda.
Im encountering a pretty nasty things in my Huawei P8lite and im sharing this with you maybe i could find some solution
------Details of the phone :
Huawei P8Lite / Model nr. ALE-L21 / Version nr. ALE-L21 C432 B574 / Android v. 6.0 / Baseband 22.300.01.00.00 , 22.300.01.00.00
------Details of the problem : Sleep of death
After phone is locked ( by lock button or screen timeout ) after like 10 seconds , cant be unlocked, if i press power button nothing happens. I have to press the button for like 10 seconds then phone will start. If phone is charging, is connected to computer , has application like FM Radio / Flashlight on it WILL NOT do SoD. First , i was thinking that battery is faulty , but if , i use the phone on battery and dont let him lock/sleep , phone will never shut down by itself , just when its sleeping. Then i was thinking about hardware issue, but this doesnt happen randomly, flexing the phone doesnt turn it off. The shutdown isnt with logo or something , just screen is turned off like its locked , but in fact phone is dead. While the phone dead , if i connect to PC or wall charger , no sound from pc ( new connected device ) pops out , no led on the phone blink , if i try to charge it nothing happens. I just have to manually press the power button for 10 seconds to make him reboot.
-----What i did ( and didnt fix it at all ):
Downgraded to android 5.0
Flashed other versions of firmware , android versions 5 and 6
Cleared cache
Factory reset
Installed TWRP and cleaned cache and factory reset from there
Tried SoD killed application from store ( wich sais its for nexus but may work on others )
-----What im trying to do next :
Logcat with PC , for the moment i am browsing forums to see how that does work.
*** EDIT : attached logcat file https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B4HMIsHWA6NDeUNSQUkzbFg1dms
( PS : LOG settings on phone - ticked AP / CP / Charge / Sleep ) but the problem is i cannot recreate the bug since adb uses usb , and while phone charges he doesnt do the sleep of death..

It seems hardware issue. Have you tried flashing whole rom via fastboot and rescue mode?

Yes, flashed via fastboot system , boot , cust and recovery. Flashed aswell via phone recovery with dload/update.app whole firmware, but same.
Edit - Discovered something strange. Notification LED blinks are still showing up when phone is in this sleep state, but notifications gotta be received when phone is with screen on.

Exactly same problem here with the same phone. In my case is from a customer, I'm a technician . They told me the phone dropped in water for like a second, but I can't find even a minimal water trace inside. Did you solve the problem in some way? I think it's something related to doze mode, or low power on CPU cores . This only happens when you lock the screen and the phone e is flat on a table, if I lock it and unlock in vertical position this doesn't happens. I tried 2 apps to create wakelocks with no result.
Hi Axel85,
Where you able to solve the problem? I have the same phone which was in water for few seconds and is presenting the same problem.
Just install sod killer from play store and it will be fixed

Water damage is a no for sure. I submerged it fully in water and still works perfectly after dissasembling it completely and leaving it in silica gel for 24h. Doze also does no problem, my thoughts are that he harmed some firmware-related files that are not written by just reflashing stock rom or some malware did it. If not, than there may be some problem to the SoC or a capacitor, or maybe RAM, ROM, or GPU. But for sure you do have some kind of serious problem.
Has anyone figured a fix for it yet?
my phone has the same problem, and yes it fill in water for a couple of seconds after that the problem emerged.
But I noticed also that the SD Card slot is not working or no more SD cards can be read by my phone don't know if it is problem.
It's either the SD card slot has something to do with it or the battery need to be replaced in my opinion

Open phones back and unplug the battery if this doesnt fix then short battery wile it plugged in. That fixed my problem
I have a redmi 3s with Deep Sleep of the Death everytime i locked it or got lock by itself, it will gone black and cannot turn it unlocked with the power button or with the volume button.
I have to hold it about 10 seconds to give the reboot to the phone.
I don't have the screenshot because now i'm in custom ROM. (Next time if i'm flash it to Miui i would give the screenshot about the about phone)
And even in this Custom ROM (i use Resurrection Remix-M-V.5.7.4 feb build) the issue is not fix at all.
Because it's so frustrating to occasionally to rebooted the phone everytime it got locked.
Please anyone can help me with this problem?
i got the same issue on YU Yuphoria. I cant remember what i actually did to solve the problem .
But try turning of unnecessary options in Display settings like ambient display , auto brightness , screen saver etc and look for your solution.
Also remove any shortcuts mapped to power and volume buttons.
One of those helped me.

i've been facing the same issue. Its f**king awful...
the only way that i found to fix it is to install miui 7.5 via edl mode and keep it clean, like not to root it or install twrp
Can't believe, but I've got exactly the same problem on Redmi 3s. Neither tweaking settings of display nor hard-reset did not help.
i found a weird fix for it
still dunno how long is it gonna last, but it will atleast for a week
so, listen to these steps
1. take out the sim tray
2. remove sdcard from tray
3 set a sim card to slot 2(important)
4 boot it up without sdcard and sim at slot 2
5 reboot 3 times
6 swap sim slots and insert sdcard
WORKED FOR ME
me too! any ideas?
Clean flash using fastboot or in edl mode
