Hi, i went with this problem to several forums, but with no answer, so i figured that folks here, on xda are my last hope.
I have tethering problem - identical on WiFi and USB. I am able to tether for, i don't know, like 15 - 20 minutes, but after that, Phone freezes. Pulling out the battery and putting it in is the only way to make it work again. I don't think it's rom-specific issue, because it happened on two different builds - NexusHD2 ICS and some MIUI JB. Interesting thing is that it happened after i decided to come back to android from WP7 rom i had earlier. Before using WP7 i had exactly the same build of NexusHD2 ICS, and described problem didn't occure.
I would be very happy if you guys could help me out.

I have been on CM7 for several months and now Nookie Froyo for a few days but wifi keeps going out and I have a difficult time restoring it.
I don't even remember if the stock Eclair had stable wifi.
What Nook ROM has a fully functional wifi?
Edit:
cm7 nightly 87 was good for me but I only stayed on that rom for 24 hours due to other issues.
Phiremod 6.2 has been great for couple days.

Try a stable version of CM7.
Still rocking the Incredible with the XDA Premium App.
I have. Used all 3 stable. Maybe should try 7.0 again.

Stock was rock solid, but wouldn't connect to, or even see, ad hoc networks.

I've been rocking Phiremod 6.2, which is built on CM7.02, for a couple of weeks now. Never had any WiFi issues, either with my home router (Verizon supplied) or free networks at Panera and Barnes & Noble.
I haven't had a single issue with wifi drops while running CM7 stables or nightlies for a couple of months now. I see posts where other people are having problems using the exact same versions I've been using (a variety of nightlies for several weeks, then stable 7.0.3 for a couple of weeks, now most recently n86). Have no idea why some people have been having problems, while I (and many others) have not. Rather odd.

I'm on N87 right now and I'm having zero issues as we speak.
I'm on N87 and I have noticed that the display icon will turn white sometimes but ill still be connected to the network...but I've been with the nightlies since day one and never had an issue when I couldnt connect to a network.
Thanks for everyones responses. I am now on N87 with no problems overnight. I had it charging with wifi to never turn off on and it remained connected this am. Will continue to monitor.

Running n87, don't have trouble with infrastructure wifi but now I notice my joikuspot doesn't work anymore. It was working 2 weeks ago with whatever nightly/beta I was on at the time. Weird...
My HD2 has been randomly shutting off with no apparent cause.
About 3 weeks before I used the new HD2 Tool Kit to partition the magldr to 445 and installed the same rom I was previously using which was HD2Nexus Gingerbread nand 2.8.
Since this started I have updated to version 2.9 and tried repartitioning magldr with no avail.
It has only done it once while I was while I was using it once. It normally happens while sitting in standby.
Any ideas guys? Thanks.

Why such a huge partition on a Nexus ROM?
I would repartition to 150mb, then flash that ROM and see how you do (wipe everything then restore your apps)
I will try that when I get home. My thinking was the bigger the better. Wasn't thinking I maybe using up important space.

The less the partition, the more space you have for installing apps and stuff. The thing is that Sense ROMs (especially DHD and Sense3) require more for the system partition so you have to flash a 300 or 450 MB partition respectively. Any AOSP ROM, including straight nexus port or CM7, doesn't need more than 150 for the system.
So I repartitioned to 150 and it, or so I think, seemed to help but it did it about an hour after and it seems to be happening more often now.
Any other things to try?

So I have found the fix for the random rebooting on my HD2.
Apparently, my sim card was causing the issue, which T-mobile will replace for free. I got the new one 12 hours ago and the phone rebooted as I walked in the door, but hasn't since I put in the new sim card. I'm just happy it's finally over and the fix was FREE! Hope this helps others in the future.

Good call and thanks for possibly another free solution to resets!
I am having a problem with my data and wifi connection they both disconnect and then instantly reconnect every couple of minutes, at first I thought it was my rom (miui us) however I changed my rom to a cm7 based rom and it still happens, any ideas please? Thanks in advance, Ryan

The fix for wifi has been submitted to the dev team, but it hasn't been implemented by them yet, so it isn't a part of CyanogenMod yet. There was a build floating somewhere around this forum that contained the fix, but I can't find it right now. Maybe someone else will have better luck.
As I put in the topic, I'm running the newest liquid smooth build on my N10. Everything is running really great on it, but I can't connect to WiFi at all? Sorry for posting this here but I'm a noob and can't post in the dev forums yet. Any help would be greatly appreciated considering my tablet is useless without WiFi!

Some wifi problems are inherent to 4.2. But if wifi doesn't turn on immediately after flashing any rom, usually a reboot cures it. Before rebooting tho, try cycling Airplane mode on/off.

I've already tried rebooting several times. I even booted into recovery and wiped everything again and reflashed the Rom. Still no WiFi? I've never had a problem with it on stock or cm10.1

I never had wifi issues with my N10 until I decided to give Liquid's newest build a try. I tried all the tricks - reboots, toggling airplane mode, even started from scratch and reflashed the entire ROM but had no luck. Sometimes it would connect for a moment, but then would immediately disconnect. As soon as I returned to my latest backup (Steve Spear's AOKP pub builds), and even since trying other ROMs I've had no wifi issues. I'm saying with 100% certainty there's a problem with Liquid's ROM, but it sure seems that way to me.
Maybe redownload the ROM and start over (perhaps something got messed up while downloading). That's the one thing I never tried as I got tired of monkeying around with it.

Would you mind posting the link to that ROM? I don't have time to mess around with issues and need a solid and fast daily driver. I use autocad on my N10 for work so I'm needing this resolved badly!

Nevermind, stupid question lol I'm downloading another Rom now. Ill just have to wait on liquid smooth to come out of its beta stages before using it.
Hmm... I'm on the latest LiquidSmooth and wifi works just fine for me.

I got such smooth ROM with no WiFi whatsoever and can't make landline calls only to cellular why don't know? But so far is the most fast and smooth ROM available
So, I have my phone rooted running a modified version of CM10.2. Recently, my phone started going into a "sleep of death" while charging overnight, where the phone is still on but is nonresponsive, requiring me to reboot. So I downloaded Safe Charge and it helped... Kind of. Now instead of going SoD every night, it only does it sometimes.
So, is what I'm experiencing part of the infamous JSS ROM deadlocks I've been hearing about? And is there some way to fix this, or am I just going to have to deal with it until KitKat comes out?

SoD seems to show up randomly... I've heard that JWR ROMs have less SoDs than JSS so you could try one, or if your not into switching ROMs here is an app (free) that could help you. It's called Safe Charge, and the comments say that it works great.
If you read my OP, I already have Safe Charge installed and am still getting sod. I really like the ROM I'm using, but I may just have to switch to avoid this unfortunate issue.

Oops I guess I missed that part... I'm pretty sure that you can find a near similar ROM/kernel setup for JWR... If all else fails, try stock...
(Oh and if you can still RMA it, do it. People have speculated that its a hardware issue...)
No worries. I'm trying out SlimBean because I hear that doesn't have the issues, but not being able to use Franco with it is a bit of a bummer. In fact I haven't yet found a third party kernel that does work with it.

I had this happen to me with a particular rom. Everything was great until id lock the phone, then try to unlock and see nothing but a black screen. I switched roms and it never happened again.
