I got a bluetooth mouse which connects easily and works very well - except that only the left button and the back-button are operating.
Is there anything around which will allow me to map the buttons - and the scrollwheel?
Thanks

Hi all,
I have a strange button issue on my MDA Vario.
All works as it should until I turn off (with power button or times out). When I turn it back on only some of the buttons work - namely the side hard buttoins (Camera, comms and voice memo) as well as the top 2 hard buttons (e mail and t-mobile). The center button in the D pad also works.
The up/down/left/right button and the soft buttons do not work and neither does the slide out keyboard or the phone pick up/hang up.
Now ... when one of the working buttons is pressed it wakes the rest up and it all works fine until the next power off. Tapping on the screens works fine all the time but does not wake the buttons up.
As a work around I have set a "working" button to the today page and use this to wake the other buttons up but it's a real pain.
I have updated the ROM (well worth doing) but it made no difference.
Any one got any ideas?

I plugged in a external keyboard(IBM/Lenovo Travel keyboard w/ trackpoint and trackpad).
For the most part it worked. I found a few interesting things:
Home - goes to your main home screen( i was using Launcher Pro Plus)
End - locks and turns off screen
Certain Fn keys lock screen
Middle mouse/wheel click - brings up menu
right mouse click - its the "back" menu button
Anyone else try other devices?
Plugged in a Old Logitech Keyboard I Had, You Can Navigate Through Webpages With The Arrows, Tab In Some Cases Brings Up The Search Options, Long Pressing The Home Key Brings Up Recent Apps, And Using The Regular Keys For Writing Works As I Used My Keyboard For This Reply

I bought and use a Maylong 150 KB. Works fine plugged into the USB port.
Anyone know if it is possible to wire up some buttons to the capacitive buttons on the phones? Perhaps using a electrically conductive paste over top the button, and putting a wire on the paste, the charge from our finger could be passed thru the wire and onto the button. Would this work?
There's a lot of problems with that approach: besides disrupting
(and obscuring) the screen you are stuck with buttons that activate
specific parts of the screen and not buttons that generate specific
keycodes.
How about using a USB HID device of some kind? You can use
keyboards in either their natural state or gutted and connected
to pushbuttons. With a driver you can use a video game controller.
Depending on how the hardware buttons on your phone are
scanned, you may be able to add additional crosspoints to the
matrix then map the scancodes to keycodes in a kl file.

Hi, thanks for your reply. I was thinking of putting the paste on the home, menu, back, and search buttons. This way i simply press the button and the circuit is completed, thus the button is pressed.
Here is the problem with USB HID device: I have already used all the buttons.
I am creating a game device, so all the gamepad buttons need to be free. this is why i need the capacitive buttons to become buttons of their own.
You didn't mention that you are already using a controller.
Maybe you can hack extra buttons on that.
The regular XBox controller has two USB expansion slots.
You could wire one to a gutted keyboard and put pushbuttons somewhere.
I recently connected a bluetooth mouse to my note 3., the HP X4000b and it seems that when i press and hold both mouse buttons it takes a screenshot of my screen.
I managed to find a similar thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s2/help/remap-bluetooth-mouse-buttons-t2036291
but havent been able to find a definitive solution.
is there anyway to disable screenshot taking in the note 3 altogether ? or disable that action from being performed when holding both mouse buttons?
any help appreciated.
EDIT: It is actually by holding both mouse buttons
actually, i figured out a work around.
i just remapped some controls in the application i was using on the my remote desktop
i figured there isnt a way to turn off screencap without rooting, which im not prepared to do.
I have the unit fully installed and working except for the "next" button on my steering wheel. The volume buttons work fine. I am able to map the button to "next track" but the music apps don't respond. I made sure the option to respond to hardware buttons is enabled in the app (dsub).
The same app on my phone will let me use the skip button on BT headphones.
I also remapped the button to "home" to verify its not a vehicle side problem and it worked fine. Hitting "next" on the steering wheel took me to the home screen. I still get the confirmation beep no matter what it is mapped to.
The button input is a varying resistance type if that matters. '09 lincoln towncar using the crux SWC adapter. Only 3 buttons; vol+, vol-, and next.
Any ideas? I was toying with remapping the button to some other function and setting a tasker event to skip track. End call? That should do nothing unless I'm on a call.
