Can anyone advise of a method/app to specify a custom notification tone for an email contact? I work in a data center so when alarms come in through email I want them to be screaming loud and exclusive to a specific email contact..

UCCW, available on the play store. There are a few free skins for texts, missed calls and gmail. You can also create your own skins. Have not tried non gmail apps call

Idk about your ringer issue, I'm assuming you already checked all your settings....
I find that Google voice works excellent as a VM app... you may want to try that out...

Go to call settings then voicemail settings and add your phone number for voicemail access.

I am on O2 network in UK. I have no idea if I have a voicemail as I get no notifications or icons anywhere in the OS. I just have to randomly call my voicemail once a day to see if I have any messages.
Anyone else? How can I fix this. Am running Mango beta 1.

As the title says.. This voice mail notific is annoying since i dont use it.. And i need a fast way to remove it.

btw just found a way by clearing Phone Data.
i will like to find better hack like erasing it using the clear button on the notification bar,
like old cm7
Just a note it will come back when you reboot or get a new voicemail. I discovered this when I went on Straight Talk, I wanted to disuse their voicemail and use Google Talk exclusively but it sends a signal because they want you to setup voicemail.
I guess the best thing will be maybe to contact the provider and disable it totally!

Today I got a local weather alert message on my phone "flash flood watch till 10:15pm...etc etc". But I dont know what app send it to me, because I removed most of the apps from stock rom. And I cant find that message again.
Any one knows where the message came from and how to retrive it?

Stock Messaging app. You can set what alerts (if any) you want through the settings in the app. All except for presidential...you have to take them (if you keep the app).

I use GV for texts. I uninstalled and reinstalled it. Now it won't play a notification sound when new messages come in. I went into settings and checked and it should work, but it doesn't.
