Im waiting so hard... cannot wait anymore i love SailFish design.
Development is getting there, WLAN and Audio is working now, in time, we'll see a ROM.
I'm really exited about this os... hope that jolla releases soon the rom.

The source code has been available on github, from the following link , this has been available for some time, but I lack the knowledge, and time to build the ROM, and kernel.
The kernel is a modified CM11 kernel, and the kickstarter file from the repository should setup the rom with all the repo dependencies (including the actual sailfish os part) that it relies on to work, providing I correctly understand what a kickstarter file does.

Is it possible to port it to galaxy s4 i9500?
If yes, can some port it? or can someone teach me how to port? or is there any tutorial for porting it?
This looks Promising ...
I want that ^^ can't weit till we can get a shot at it
yeah, I hope we will get some news soon, I'd fancy a nexus 5 sailfish-rom most of course
Anyhow, it seems the nexus 5 wasn't that of a good choice imo. Sure, it has good specs for that low price, but owning a Nexus S before I thought the N5 is a good choice also towards support for new roms (like the Nexus S was: you always got new / experimental roms for it first). Now the N5 seems to have bad hardware in the way that it is hard to implement in new roms (e.g. find suitable driver) which is a shame. Well, I'm not sure if I'd buy another Nexus phone again, thankfully there are many alternatives now (the fairphone, jolla phones etc).
Umm.. Guys? The rom has been out for over a month already.

Hi everyone,
I have juste created a thread asking for the official port of CM on this device (I can't post the link because I'm new....), section device requests.
Be free to comment the post (even a +1) , I am sure you can find the link we google, and we have to prey that they will take a look at it
Kisses
Won't happen until Alcatel releases the source code and given that the phone was just released to canada as recently as June 30th you can expect to wait a couple of months for that.
Just want I want a bug filled rom that gets rid of one problem and another pops up. I just love when we all use cm and the Bluetooth crashes all the time, disconnects, and overall bearly works. I love when the wifi disconnects and you have to restart the phone just to get it to work.
Sorry I'll stick to the stock rom where everything works perfectly fine.
Wont be any cm roms until we get twrp first. Im shocked more devs dont own this device.

It hasn't even been out 2 months yet. It's an off name most are not familiar with and alcatel's first true shot at an enterprise/flagship level device. It has threads on slickdeals.net advertising it's low price...it will eventually get support by either the source being released or a new exploit being found that can be used to provide temp or perm root...once someone has root they can pull the recovery and boot partitions and development can begin.
It's unrealistic to expect developer's to be jumping all over this phone so soon. I'd never even heard of it till I was looking to buy a zen phone 2 and found so many articles comparing it to the idol 3.
Woukd be nice to have it or either dirty unicorns crdroid or omnirom ^^ now that we have a working TWRP

yeah id miss it too but meh lol but theres the dolby atmos app that has been ported from a lenovo ROM that should work with our speakers and also there can be a way to port the colorOS camera app from oppo phones those can take up to 50mp shots because they use sony sensors even on the one plus one has been achieved an yet it has the same sony sensor also hopefully xposed framework could work on us because of the adaway for youtube ^^
Well if someone's working on a CM port I'd be interested in helping to test it.
Thatd be nice id help too for testing purposes im a very heavy user and this phone has been keeping up with me lately
I'll throw my vote in for a cm port. as well as another tester if needed. Dont have tons of experience, but I'll be happy to help where I can.
well im pretty sure theres going to be a bounty thread for it or any other rom ^^
hi guys,
i just ordered this phone and soon within this month hopefuly will land in my hands in india.
my question is cant we use sources of other SD 615 phones like MI4I, YUreka and TCL M3G to develop rom for our device/ or cant we use their roms with our stock kernel ???
as TCL M3G is already having cm 12.1 and MIUI V6 and several other roms on movilesdualsim forum

Can you use the computer chip from a v8 chevy in a v8 ford? The software has to match to the hardware. How is the software going to control the screen when they have different digitizers? Different sound cards. Just as with your pc the drivers have to match the hardware.
Just pray to the phone Gods they roll out a 5.1 update and release it...

One of the CM maintainers, contacted me here on a PM today and requested files from the device. The work on the CM port will be started probably the next week. I will not disclose his ID for now in order to save him from possible questions on PMs. Probably CyanogenMod soon will be available for the Idol ... I just spread the news.
Cool, looking forward to it!

Thanks for the update! It's been quiet for a little bit regarding a CM port. Good to see it's still WIP.
While I look forward to having trees to build with, I find it kinda funny that they asked for files when a couple of them have the device already. Unless the files are from a different version?

Hi,
I'm new to OnePlus, got my OPT last Monday.
Coming from a Nexus 5, I'm used to getting new versions of Android quickly.
For those with experience with OnePlus, how fast can we expect to get a version of 6.0 on our OPT ?
Thanks !
It took the quite a while (several months) to push official lollipop builds to the one... Hopefully they are quicker this time. Custom builds will probably be available much sooner

on my OPO, i received the update to lollipop almost a year after it was introduced on the first handsets. and when I got it, i switched to CM (community version) as they had tinckered to much with stuff like the default/built-in e-mail app.
I have already switched to CM (beta) for my OPT, because i did not like OxygenOS

Yes, I figured I'll have custom ROM & Kernel (I'm on AK already just for color calibration).
What were the best ROMs on OPO ? Do you think we'll have good developers on the OPT ?
Only CM for me

I have only used cyanogenmod on my devices, nothing else. So I cannot say if one ROM should be better than another.
Regarding OPT, it would be great to reach a point where there could be an officially supported version of cyanogenmod
How do you like the OPT so far? I'm a long time Nexus user, but after a drop device my N5 is now dead which has me looking for a new phone. I was looking at the OPT and almost pulled the trigger on one, but after reading about the Oxygen OS it seems like a pretty buggy OS. How do you feel about the OS coming from the stock (I assume) android experience on the N5?
Cheers
I was a fellow Nexus fanboy who switched to the OPT. The Oxygen OS definitely has its pros and cons, but I believe the OnePlus team will send some OTA's here and there to address the issues. Alternatively, with Grarak porting over CM to the OPT so quickly, I use CM as a daily driver. The OxygenOS has a lot of great features which are not included in stock Android experience. Overall, the OPT in my opinion is well worth it.

For now I still miss more development options, but the phone is nice. I'm sure development will pick up with Oneplus getting their logistics have together and getting more devices out there.
For me all the negative press is mostly fan boys not getting their invite quickly.
The size takes time to adjust to, but Oxygen with Xposed and AK kernel is pretty sweet right now!

Oxygen defiantly sounds and look great, but I was just a bit put away when I read the OP forums about the bugs... but as with most of these things, it's the people who are unhappy that are loudest.

Sorry, for hi-jacking your thread about 6.0 for the OPT. I was actually looking for a bigger screen so 5.5" seemed to be a good middle ground. I've only been able to play around with the OPT with the hydrogen OS (I live in Hong Kong),and I liked the size of the phone but not Hydrogen OS.
Im looking forward to android 6, hope its good for op2. With any phone ive had, 5 has been v poor compared to 4.4.2 (battery life and performace), hope 6 can shine for us

I know 5.5 is now the middle ground, I'm just saying that coming from a Nexus 5 for the last 2 years, the jump is not that easy. I'm sure I'll be fine after a while. But right now, one handed use is difficult for me (and I have somewhat big hands), especially with the lower buttons at the bottom (I went back to on screen navigation bar).
Hi everyone,
I currently found an AOSP 6.0 Marshmallow port for the OnePlus One. I'm a slight new to this but im ready and willing to learn how to do all of this from source. The OnePlus One has the same chipset, cpu, and gpu so it shouldnt be impossible to get this up and running. Anyone interested in contributing to the cause pm me or post on this thread .

Well its all plain experience and trying and trying over and over till it works. Its quite a lot of work its possible just to wait for everything to happen from the cm team but thats really gonna take a while and im sure with enough knowledge and enough hard workers its possible to pull it off. Especially since a device with near the same hardware has marshmallow ported

Well he was probably trying to kang port it. You need to build it from the source. Port the kernel from source and the same with the source for the rom itself. Its not easy but it can be done. I may give it a go myself even if no one can help or wants to.
Im thinking about getting a Tab 8 plus 4/64 to replace my Nexus 7 2013.
I don't see much development support for the Tab 8 Plus. Great to see TWRP and root.
Do you think there will be an XDA community for this device?
There are so few upgrade choices from the Nexus 7.

There seems to be a problem in terms of availability for the tablet worldwide, which is why very few reports have come through.
I have specifically bought this Tab 4 Plus with WiFi and 64GB storage as a Nexus 7 replacement and I am super happy with the decision. Custom recovery and root works as described. Give it a couple of weeks and I assume there will be a dedicated forum for the Tab 4 Plus here on XDA. And as soon as Lenovo publishes the kernel sources for the device, there will be many custom ROMs to choose from.
Right now, the Android on the device is pretty vanilla and serves its purpose very well.
Giving this thread a bump. Dev support for this device still seems pretty quiet. Been eyeing the 4/64 GB on eBay for $330. It ships from Korea.

Do you know if it passes SafetyNet with Magisk 14.3 and Magisk Hide or if it will require a custom kernel to hide the bootloader status?
Hey, I got myself a Tab 4 8 Plus from South Korea recently - the 4 GB RAM / 64 GB storage version. I've used CyanogenMod and LineageOS for ages on my Nexus 4 and Nexus 7 2013, and I'm a little sad the Tab isn't supported yet. If anyone involved in development is interested, I'd be happy to help however I can with my device. I'm not familiar with Android development, however - I'd totally try and port LineageOS to this if I could.
there's a guy in the root thread that was saying he was starting a debloated ROM. lets see if he delivers. this sure is the best android tablet in the market!
Hi guys, I just got this tablet from singapore seller, but it come with chinese rom,
I'm not familiar with lenovo (use to be xiaomi fans).
Is there any tutorial available to change it to global rom? and is there any forum to discuss bugs on each rom version like on the xiaomi miui forum?
I can't find any donwloadable link in the lenovo web support.
Thanks
I did get a Lenovo Tab 4 8 Plus to replace my aging Nexus 7 2013. Unfortunately, that was two months ago now and I'm still using my Nexus as this Tab 4 keeps cooking uSD cards. Apparently it's a known problem, some say hardware, some say software, some claim it was fixed with the December 2017 update, some say it's still there. Either way, I want to root this potentially sweet tablet and drop on Lineage or something custom before I give up on it, but for that I want a decent custom ROM.

Since the source code was published by Lenovo there is now a good chance to get something custom if there will be a developer to help us out building a rom.
I did read a lot of complaints about a lack of source code from lenovo, but it was released in November from what I can see. That's six months ago, so I wouldn't hold my breath for anything useful soon.
This nifty little tablet is really awesome. The almost stock android experience is nice... But the additional customisations of a custom ROM would be helpful. Right now lenovos system UI is quite picky about being modded and would FC when I try to tweak the nav bar.
yes, maybe after oreo update there will be some custom rom...
