SEEDER app to resolve Lag!!! - EVO 4G General

Was reading along in Droid Life and came across this... http://www.droid-life.com/2013/01/0...n-nexus-7-and-others-with-seeder-application/
Original XDA thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1987032
In a nutshell it is supposed to resolve the dreaded lag in Android devices.
I flashed the flashable version and wow. I am literally seeing a HUGE improvement in speeds. Apps are just flying when opened. I am not even OC and I am running the new Team DIRT Dirty Unicorns. Just throwing this out there for those who want to give this a whirl. I highly recommend it so far. Will check back in a few (read "days") and give further impressions.

Oh emm gee. Yeah it works great on ICS. My girl was even like wow

Just wondering, but is this best recommended for an ICS / JB rom? I could totally see this getting more popularity if that's the case.

Its actually for all Android. So I am thinking how fast this would run on say... Decks ReLoaded or Kendall's JellyBread. I am currently massively under clocking on Dirty Unicorn. Min 384 and Max 652 on MazWoz kernel. No lag what so ever!
The creator also allows devs to bake this mod in. Hopefully it gets picked up on our end. Might extend some life in our device.

It works on my evo and sg3 too! Haha! 4.2 goodness on both devices!

If you flashed v6 just go to terminal emulator, su, seeder. You should get the seeder options showing its on. The apk is not needed if you flashed the zip.

Dude, come on 88,after its installed you go to the app drawer and its right there, open it and set it to enable and reboot and man this app is the shiznit,i created my own jb rom, which had noticable lag and brother, smooth as butter now,the dev hit this one out of the park.

So this was posted in JellyBread https://plus.google.com/app/basic/stream/z12uw3ubrnjtwp0oo04chbkpywq3fxgrtrw0k
I asked to move all Seeder talk from that thread to this thread to avoid cluttering a ROM development thread with debates on this app. I personally am using it, released a ROM with it that is in Android development section. Not a single issue with battery.
In my experience. All that battery drain talk is complete crap. Some of them even admitted to not even wanting to read more in to it "Definitely sounds like a battery killer... I've seen articles around about it but haven't even bothered to attempt to put it on my phone or even read further into it."
LMFAO. If you will make your decisions for this app off this then ok :silly:.
I had the same battery life I had. The performance is greatly increased. I installed Better Battery stats and my phone goes in to deep sleep. It hardly stays at max cpu. All those negative claims are mostly false and probably just pompous devs that couldn't get credit for it.

OK I have it on my evo4g with jellybread. Using it after reading the posts on here. I downloaded it from the Market and the only thing I have did is turn on the two settings you see when you open the app.

Not really tricked, but like they said, they jumped the gun on saying this will fix all lag problems, its actually causing other issues when the tweak is doing its job,so they are working on a fix for this issue.
Issues:
There was no performance gain. However, the CPU did stay awake longer and my battery consumption went up from 0.6%- 1% to 2.2% per hour.Battery stats points to the CPU favoring 500MHz and not scaling down to 200MHz.Deep sleep was also an issue.

12 users posted that they had problems with their battery. Of those, 2 had more than 10 posts and none of them were able to provide conclusive evidence. Most of it was "SBC destroyed my battery". No pictures, no evidence, no proof.
SBC will shorten the life of your battery for sure (you'll have to buy a new one sooner), but there's been no proof that it actually causes the stuff mentioned here. Also, no one has even come close to taking into account that anything that's massed produced is bound to have units that are faulty and end up malfunctioning.
I've been using SBC since the day after I bought my Evo (It's easy to remember, I bought my Evo on New Year's Day), and I've never had so much as an inkling of a problem. I'm using it now, in fact, and I always will.
Netarchy 4.3.4 SBC-CFS-Havs-More or Tiamat (latestest version) w/SBC if I'm running aosp. All my nandroids have one of those two kernels. I highly recommend them to my friends who are just starting to hack their Evo.
The only results I've gotten are days like these: http://www.flickr.com/photos/absolutzerogi/5635211381/
Use SBC or don't use SBC, but don't buy into the hype either. People still truly believe that Elvis was abducted by aliens. Those people are idiots.

sorry just vanilla android, which is what you have before all the manufacturers put the unneeded skin and fiddle with the frame works to make their phones different from one another(these same modification also hinder the speed up that their phones can be updated from each android release)
Its funny actually all these great developers here can get the source code the day its out make a almost fully functioning rom/port while these big name companies stumble around for god knows how long to make an update when they have full access to the drivers and such
While I will admit from froyo to gingerbread was nothing monumental in way of adding lots functionality but security updates those were needed(still waiting to use my nfc to buy sodas from teh coke machines in the mall though)
Enjoy your nexus

welcome, and you have definitely made a good choice, it will last you forever, or until some accident happens
this is the best phone you can get at the moment, with the most development going on around it
however the only shortcoming of this phone is the missing MicroSD support.
i keep constantly running out of space, it's driving me mad

Does anyone remember when the epic first came out

On dg27 and it was horrible?
Our batteries died in 4 hours flat
4g made the phone a skillet
Capacitive buttons took a few before they decided to react
Eclair!
And then we finally got a good froyo after 3 official updates and the phone was flawless
Cat wait for official gb
We went through this update debacle through 2.1 and even 2.2
2.3 is no different, which means when they DO release it, its going to make our phones even better, considering gb was made for the NS.
Am I the only one who tinks the epic on froyo is one of the best experiences because of how everything works and it just soldiers on with thebattery?
Imagine gb which is less resource intensive.
I can't even imagine when we're finally on the CM tree and get the nightlies, then we will even be upto date with ics :O

What's your point? That just because there are newer phones out there that it does not automatically make the Epic crap? That what we have is still just as good as it has been and even better than when it was new? That we may have an even better phone in the future if Gingerbread gets released officially but if not we still have a very good phone? What radical thinking. Thanks

I have had my epic since day one of launch. I have had it replaced 2 times due to problems. I love the keyboard, and the physical features and look of the phone. But software wise, this phone has been my worst android phone. Little support from samsung, and a slow to develop and grow rom community. Now I'm not speaking down on any of the developers, they are the best, and do what they can with the little samsung has given them. But, comeing from a g1, to a droid, to a nexus one... the ammount of roms in this community to the epic, it does not even compare. I really don't see a phone worth jumping ship for right now though, maybe epic touch, or the next nexus...

Not trying to annoy. Just getting tired of so many people saying what a crap pile the Epic is because there are newer phones out and I thought the OP was trying to say that the Epic started with good hardware but had several issues that have been improved and hopefully will be improved even further meaning that the Epic is still a viable phone and getting even better.

Really? I liked ec05 a lot more than di18. My only quipe was with the lack of flash which was adressed with froyo and that's why ec05 ismy favorite
Its all the stability of di18 and THEN some lol

U talking about ec05 stability?
I just really want gingerbread for the AIO mod and ill be staying stock rom maybe with a nice kernal that has voodoo. If it is as smooth and less bugs as D118. Ill be happy stock.
Ive been on ACS rom and have weird random issues that i never had on bonsai. I jumped ship cause the bonsai rom freezes your phone.

LOL yeah ec05 wasn't a problem for me. But hen again I ran with ComputerKid's Urban rom which kept me charged for 2 days straight with me usuing my phone normally. I didn't get anywhere nea that even with the most optimized di18 lol so I guess that's why I'm a litle biased
But yeah I agree. I can see me sticking with stock dedex official gb when itgets dropped because then people will actually work to optimize, overclock and undervolt it.
I mean, I've been running stock eh06since it was leaked and I haven't looked back yet. I don't even get reboots so you can imagine how happy I will be with official gb lol

Possible ics battery *helper*..?

So, in my three dreadful days on ics(thank God Im back on gb, untill official at least) I found that freezing Google plus in titanium backup gets rid of my android os battery issue. Could I be onto something..? Or am I just getting ahead of myself?

Why not just uninstall it? Also I have no battery issues, I'm on cm9 alfa but I use Google+ a lot.

I'm getting 3 days with my Mugen Power 3900mAH battery on ICS 4.0.3. This OS is really fixing the battery issue.

Seems like a lot of people with battery issues needed to do a simple battery calibration.

I didn't know there was a glados gb kernel..? Could you link me to it..? I've look everywhere for it and couldn't find it.
And by battery drain I mean the drain caused by "android os "

I honestly don't understand why he'd remove it all together and not just stop supporting but leaving it there for the community

You can ask him. But he has always not supported older builds of his kernels. By leaving them up just leaves it open for questions and requests that he probably did not want to deal with. Upward and onward, thus is the community. The problems you are having are very isolated and for the most part people are having the opposite experience. You may want to find a ICS rom you like with a stock kernel at first, calibrate your battery, run it for a full day or so, then run GLaDOS and gage your battery against that. Just a suggestion.

Lets see your ICS homescreens!!!

I think homescreen setups are just as varied and interesting as all the roms that are available. Lets see what yours looks like!!!

This is 4.03 ICS JTG and the clock came from a Beautiful Widget clock skin.
I tried, but kept getting gallery fc when I attempted to attach via the XDA app.

I think the problem is that the data and the stack pointer gets overflowed [corrupted] at that point, which is why its only 3MP at the time being...it can get to be working with more manipulation.

Could be somewhat kernel related as well. We had to get a custom kernel modified for it to boot so we might need a different one to get it fully functional

Well that too, but that was more of the electronics part of the camera when it actually takes the picture and then tries to store it in flash memory; I'm sure the kernel will need more tweaking, and since they used the tiamat kernel, I'm happy.

Pretty simple for right now, haven't gotten into customization mode yet lol loving ICS tho. I'm good with the 3mp cam right now too. Preludedrew retweeted that they had a fix to bump up the cam res to 8. I downloaded the fix but kinda scared to flash it haha
