I recently applied this tweak to my new HTC Android device and was so impressed I figured I would try it on the TouchPad since it claims to be a universal Android audio engine and guess what? It works! Credit goes especially to docnok63 for the tip and of course the AC!D Audio Engine Team. Great work and very effective. Follow the directions in this forum: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2002367 and make sure to add the lines to your build.prop. This will make the audio on your TouchPad WAY better. Any advice I can provide please ask. This is not my work but since the developers give permission to share and it is so great I feel you are all missing out if you don't give this a try. Thanks AC!D audio! You guys are amazing!!!

Some great reading and advice in docnok63's thread for HTC DNA here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2061651 It might help with the installation a bit. Use the volume keys on your TouchPad to navigate through the options in the Aroma Installer. I used ES File Explorer to edit build.prop and Noozxoide app to tweak my settings. Please be careful and always make backups before touching root files!

Sounds promising. So how much of soubd boost have you heard?
It seems twice as loud to me.
How are these any different from an EQ?

Honestly I'm not exactly sure. I do know that once you install the engine if you choose to install Noozxoide you will have access to a bunch of tweaks. Tap the "Build-in Audio Monitor" (I think they are German and mean "Built-in") option and enable everything and max it out and you will notice a huge difference. You should also see a 5 band EQ there that you can adjust to your taste. Please let me know how it works out for you. Also make sure to uninstall any other audio enhancing apps as they may not be compatible. I was using Volume+ app and this MOD package blows it away.
NOTE: Noozxoide will appear as an app after the install, start there.
Gonna give this a shot

i have installed it onto my touchpad with aokp cm10 remix , it works before applying the tweaks into the build file, after applying it and change permissions, it will stuck before the bootanimation and remain blank screen. only reflashing the rom would get me out of the bootloop. Which rom do you use? got any suggestion for solving this issue? thank you

Single zip file.
Sent from my cm_tenderloin using Tapatalk 2
I used the Aroma method which is a zip file. I installed it in CM and the Aroma process will start. Using the volume keys to highlight the options you should be able to click your home button to accept your choices. I chose the first two options for "tablet" (I think Universal) skipped Walkman and installed Noozxoide. I'm using latest SGA FnC overclocked 384-1.89. And again I stress MAKE A BACKUP before attempting any mod to your TP. The build.prop addon is easy enough to copy/paste to the end of your build.prop, and make a backup of that before changing it too.

I uninstalled all EQ and DSP apps prior to the AC!D Aroma install per the instructions in this link: http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=2002367 Forgive me if this sounds harsh but make sure you follow the instructions in that link and the Aroma Installer as it guides you through. They specifically tell you to UNINSTALL ALL DSP Managers and EQ apps prior to installing AC!D as they may have conflicts in your file system with competing drivers, etc. I followed the instructions there so I never tested the post install with any other EQ or DSP apps installed.
NOTE: The DSP app may need to be removed using Titanium backup as it appears the SGA ROM's and OAT ROM's have them protected and are a little harder to uninstall (you can't just click "uninstall" like most apps).
After testing things like YouTube, Pandora and Sirius (the music apps I use most) I notice a definite increase in range, quality and volume level. The Google play app I used to play my own SD card (on device) mp4's the difference wasn't as remarkable. I don't know why and haven't had a lot of time to test this on my TP yet, but possibly streaming apps are different then the mp4 files and the music is processed differently hence the better sounding streaming vs. the on device music player. I'll try to test a bit more this week and give us some more TP specific tips and advice as I get can. Anybody else that can chip in advice or results here would be much appreciated. TIA!
No its not harsh at all , I have read the article but still wanted to make sure that you as someone on this forum had removed a system app before installing.
I have Rom Toolbox Pro so removing /backing up won't be a problem .
Thanks for replying .

I added them manually using ES File Explorer app (make sure to enable your ability to write to system files by choosing root options in settings of ES File Explorer app) and I stress MAKE A BACKUP before messing with your build.prop as you might mess something up and system will become unbootable!!!
when i tried it with walkman addon it didn't work but when i used Noozxoide it worked with me thnx for sharing

Hi. I think you'll find a lot of support on XDA for building your own ROM and/or for theming. You've covered a lot of different areas in terms of what you want to do. I have a few recommendations.
1. Do a quick search, either here or in Google, on how to build Android ROMs. There's a lot of good information out there and some of it might resonate with you in terms of how they explain things. That said, if all you're doing is changing a few files around; files you already have, then you would simply add them to, or replace the existing ones from a ROM you like. Just be sure to connect with the developers of that ROM so you can give credit where credit is due. Or, you could start with the Stock ROM and do it that way. But, in either case, you would be essentially using WinZip or some similar app to build the .zip file as you'd like to see it.
2. Consider hooking up with one of the existing developers and start making contributions to their work. That would give you a chance to work with some of the best people who are already doing what you want to do. I think in that case, it wouldn't take too long for you to come up to speed on who they've approached things. Also, this helps you from making some novice mistakes that I'm sure they've made along the way.
Lastly, consider the "value add" of your ROM over those that are already available. If you build something and no one has heard of you and then they don't see your ROM as having anything better or different to offer, then people might not want to use it. For example, Team Whiskey has Obsidian. Then they released Onyx. However, Onyx was materially different than Obsidian in that they removed a lot of the TouchWiz based theming and T-Mobile applications. So, a lot of people saw value in that.
Anyway, good luck. I'm sure you'll have a lot of fun!
This thing sounds quite nice! Would you be interested in posting the 2.2.1 build you got your hands on and the GB KB with Vibration? I haven't seen either of those elsewhere.

First, google WINRAR and download it.
Then select all your files, right click and click ARCHIVE and then choose location, name, and wait until its done, and it'll be in a .zip.
Root Explorer is not a free app, so you may want to reconsider adding that as part of your ROM.

Hi everyone! I've created some patches, because with so many nightlies, many people like it tweaked, but they don't have a lot of time to do this. So those patches do all the work for you. Let me explain what which one does.
_______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________
All patches
Clean-up at the /data. Deletes some useless folders, like caches and temporary[which a lot are permanent, don't know why they still call them temporary...] crap [Examples: {/data}/tombstones; /anr; /system/dropbox]
Wipes /cache and dalvik-cache [Isn't needed, I will explain this later]
Install a simple blue bootanimation. Feel free to change it.
Install a ad-block hosts file. [Update it with AdAway]
Drag and drop some APKs to the /System/app folder at the ZIP to install they as a system app.
All ZIPs were zipped using 7zip at ultra mode, so they are very much compacted, so you can let it at your phone without having space problems.
None
Doesn't uninstall any app or files
Doesn't install Google Apps, as they are already backed-up and restored while flashing CM9
None and Tweaked
All features from the None
ThunderBolt! Scripts. More performance, more battery life.
I will try to put more tweaks, give me some ideas
Light
All features from the None and Tweaked
Removes a lot of files from the /system.
Examples of removed APKs: Apollo, ApplicationsProvider, Live wallpapers {except Phase Beam, it's awesome}. There's more and more deleted APKs, take a look at the script of the ZIP.
Examples of removed files: videos at /media/video, one init.d script [00banner], some other files.
Installs the full Google Apps [-faceunlock], since I've also deleted backuptools and addon.d files. Apps like Gmail, Maps, StreetView, YouTube, please install them from the Play Store.
Heavy
All features from the Light
Removes more and more files. [APKs: Email, Exchange, VideoEditor, DSPManager, and more. Files: also deletes the 90userinit]
Installs the minimal Google Apps. I've deleted some apps like Talk, Feedback, Backuptransport, ChromeBookmarkSync, TTS, VoiceSearch, QuickSearchBox, Geniewidget and more.]
The coolest one. The one I'm using, hehehe.
_______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________
TIPS
How to install this? After installing Cyanogenmod9, install the patch you have downloaded. I recommend that at the first install of the patch you make a full wipe, just to let the phone cleaner with a new /system set.
For Cyanogenmod 9, I recommend you to use Fluxi's kernel. [LINK]
Some tweaks you can do on xxTweaker for Fluxi's kernel: I/O Scheduler: SIO; AFTR+LPA; Touch sensitivity presets: xxKernel Gingerbread; GPU: 160MHz/267MHz/267MHz.
ThunderBolt! scripts are included. Take a look at the thread and follow the instructions starting at the point 4. [PS: at the v1, they are at the 2.7.7 version of the scripts]
At ThunderBolt!'s thread, take a look at the LMK. Read the thread to know what is LMK and how to choose your version [I'm using the 60MB one]
If you have any idea to make those patches better, please tell me.
I didn't removed trebuchet. I think it's the best one, after some updates. It's smoother and lighter than Apex or Nova. Again, you can change that
Feel free to change the zip, and you can also customize them and send me here to put at this post I know it won't be what everyone wants it to be, since it can remove like one app that you like, so you can change it at the script of the ZIP.
More info about the deleted files, take a look at the update-script of the ZIPs.
- Changelog v2
x All: new Jelly Bean bootanimation + updated hosts file
x All - None: cleanup at ThunderBolt! scripts
x Light and Heavy: Trebuchet out, Apex 1.2.4 in Think it's okay now. + Updated Google Play [the new JB][auto-updated apk, not downloaded from other sources]
x Light: Removed 1-3 apks from Google Apps
DOWNLOADS - v2 [I've re-uploaded all versions on 06/July]
None
None and Tweaked
Light
Heavy
_______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________
SUGGESTIONS [in general] [what kind of stuff I like]
- Homescreen [preview]: Fancy widgets app [free and pro] + Trebuchet launcher
- Theme: Flow
- Wallpaper
- Fluxi's kernel
- Google Chrome as browser
- MX Player for videos
- Friendcaster for Facebook
- If you didn't choose the heavy version of my patch, you may have the Advanced menu on the Settings. I recommend you to set the "Scenario" to "Camera". I think it's more friendly then the default "UI" mode.
- Learn more about "Advanced freeze" on ROM Toolbox. Cool app, I use it mostly to freeze some activities/services/receivers from some apps. [Like Maps, I can freeze activities to remove "places/latitude/navigator"]
Finally, i can now automate the procedure of cm9 nightly installations. Thanks alot!

Thanks guys. If something is missing please tell me. I made this patch to make your CM9 update quicker, so you don't wipe data after cleaning stuff, and let things perfectly clean by wipping caches and crappy files. As soon as I can, I will transform this in something like a semi-ROM, by modding the original CM9, with apps, more tweaks
Congratulations marcelocord. I follow your posts for some time ago. Your information is of great importance to me. The patch will help many people. Thank you.

I have to admit something here. I dont know if it's the new fluxi kernel I have installed or it's your patch but closing of the app drawer during fast scrolling gives much higher FPS. So it's great man.
If you could include the google search in your heavy patch I would die happy...
Thanks so much for your work man.

Just extract the QuickSearchBox.apk from Google Apps and install as a user app And this higher FPS could be either fluxi's kernel, or thunderbolt! scripts [or both]
Hi Everyone,
I just registered here on xda today and I am a newbie so please be lenient with me.
Just want to share my newbie experience. Since the LS2 leak I've been trying to port multiwin dows from Note2 and then came the LS7 leak which includes multiwindows already, I have experimented with different dpi values and swapped files from other galaxy tablets to our Note1. It's sleepless nights of excitement exploring more possibilities for our Note1 and to cut the story short I came up with this. See screenshots below.
Please be aware I am not responsible if you break your phone. This is only for the brave souls. But actually I have done it many times the last few days with constant reflashing, swapping files, and trying to understand what makes it all tick and my phone was OK. It actually came out better than I expected. Thanks to all the cumulative ideas that I have gathered from all the people here at xda (who I can't remember to give special credit to) but anyway in the spirit of sharing, here it goes.
So here is the procedure and the files are attached for convenience.
Download this CWM flashable zip. (Thanks to nanomet for the CWM zip file).
1. Please make a nandroid backup first so you can return to your previous state in case you want to.
2. Make sure you are on rooted deodexed LS7 with CWM recovery. I am on Bangsti's ROM.
NOTE: I am currently testing it on odexed ROM and just to let you know the CWM flashable file does NOT work on odexed ROMs yet because it does not have the ability to delete corresponding odex files when flashed.
3. Make sure install another launcher like Apex or Nova as a failsafe in case TW Launcher forecloses. I use Android 4.2 launcher.
4. Install build prop editor from the Play Store. Run Build Prop Editor and change ro.sf.lcd.density to 213. Then add new property: qemu.hw.mainkeys with value 0. Save and don't reboot yet.
5. Now reboot into CWM recovery then flash N7000.LS7.deodex.MultiWindow.zip then reboot.
6. Voila! most stock apps are resizable including Settings although they don't appear on the dock.
Now you can see the navigation bar with an arrow on the right that opens up a dock with some applications. At the moment all you see are Gallery, Videoplayer and Browser. Most stock apps are resizable but they don't appear on the dock. Now experiment by swapping apps from TAB7 2 and Note10.1 that you prefer to change depends on he layout you want. Some want the double pane apps like music player, files and task manager. Everytime you need to reboot for the apps to appear on the dock. Some work others don't depend on the window profile currently selected in the dock.
7 The apps from TAB and Note10.1 appear on the dock whereas the Note1 stock apps don't. And now, thanks to vingar for referring the thread from Note10.1, I was able to confirm my thought that all apps can be modded to be resizable like Spotify, Dropbox, Evernote as you can see on the screenshots below.
8. Now all we need is share the modded free apps so everybody can benefit - like Gmail, Youtube, etc. CALLING out those DEVs who are interested and have the skill to mod apps to participate. As for bought apps, you need to learn how to decompile and mod your bought apps.
9. Another concern is keeping the stock multiview functionality that is included in LS7 together with multiwindows from NOTE10.1 together make the device buggy so I decided to let go of the multiview of LS7 and stick with the multiwindows of NOTE10.1. You can do that by deleting the file com.sec.feature.multiwindow.phone from system/etc/permissions. Note: Now multiwindow from LS7 and Note10.1 can co-exist but they should not be used at the same time. Turn off LS7 multiwindows if using the window layouts in the dock. That is completely up to you.
10. And that's it. Enjoy and I hope you share your experience and mods. Keep sharing fellows. Please PM me with link to modded apps so I can post it here for others to see without having to go all the way through the thread. Thanks.
MODDED APPS:

2. Papyrus
3. MxPlayer
4. Google Chrome
5. Solid Explorer
6. Evernote
7. Dropbox
8. Google Music
9. Twitter
10. Gmail
11. Torrent
12. FxCamera
** you can find modded non-stock apps on this thread. it even gives info on how to mod your own apps.
** Ianbbaa has just released his v3 ROM and I have tried it and just like he said, it is just a preview and has not been polished for speed yet because of time contraints on his part. I am currently testing my mod on stock odexed ROM and I find the speed better. [see quadrant screenshot below]. I admire his efforts and I am in fact using his modded apps from his ROM for my personal use for now and I advise you to try his ROM. If he would allow me I would make available his modded apps on this thread but until then, you can download it in his thread.
This is Greaaaat!!
I was trying to do something similar earlier but didn't have the time to follow it through!
Your efforts are impressive!
I shall try this when I get a moment!

Hi Everyone,
Just want to share my newbie experience. It seems multiview with LS7 is not enough so I remember some thread in this forum about changing dpi and so I did and experimented with different values and of course had FCs of TW Launcher and SystemUI, and I thought maybe I'll try the TW Launcher and SystemUI from the Note10.1 JB but I can't make it to work so I thought maybe the one from TA B7 2 JB would be a better fit and yes it did at 213 dpi which I was surprised because the icons are bigger than 240 dpi with the stock launcher and look nicer. I change build.prop to have soft buttons then based on the airview fix discussed in the forum, I was curious about such a small file would make airview work all of a sudden so I tried to see what permissions are different from Note10.1 to Note5.3 so I tried to copy persmissions that are missing from Note5.3 and rebooted and voila, I was surprised with stock Gallery and Videoplayer app with resizable/maximise/restore window support just like in DESKTOP PC. The other apps are not and the browser is FC. So I copied the browser from Note10.1 and the browser worked. The rest of the stock apps doesn't work but when I flashed the multiview hack circulating from the forums, I came up with most stock apps being resizable just like the Gallery app, even Settings, Dialer, Contacts, Music Player, Files, Snote, Smemo, Email, MMS even though they do not appear on the dock. I have been playing around with it for a few days now since the LS7 leak and it is a usable daily driver, fast and a bit buggy sometimes, maybe because I am not a dev and I don't know about modding and decompiling and recompiling and so and so. So if you Guys want to try I can share the procedure and the files to swap and I know you can better make a better ROM than I do.
Just to show you a screenshot.

Maybe you can contact a dev who can make a cwm flashable zip to replace the given files so that people have the option to use it or not.

I wish I can be able to post in their thread. I am apparently limited to what and where I can post so I can not take part in their discussion and share some ideas.
Do some quadrant and AnTüTü benchmarks and post it in the relevant thread.
There is an off topic thread. Post there.
Make some screenshots of your home screen -> post it in the "post your home screen" threads...
Just level up the participation. That is the only limit

I was actually on alliance alpha 1 when I tried this experiment and there was one error that I dont know how to resolve. I can't seem to connect to the computer by usb cable so I tried the one from bangsti and the error was gone although I think the alliance rom was faster. Maybe if robbie hood can include this in his rom as an option and polish it a bit, it would really be awesome.
You made it so simple it looks like a piece of cake
Have to dl deodexed rom to try it out. Thanks

Thanks. Just like I said I am a curious newbie but can follow instructions and its actually quite simple. If I knew how to maks a flashable zip then it would just be a one step. Try it out and substitue apps from tab7 2 and note10.1 and see what works for you including widgets from ICS. Tell us how ot goes.

Hi,
If you send me the edited files, and the paths they should go in, I could make it in a cwm zip for you.
It's quite easy to do.
Or else I could send you a pre made cwm zip that you can just place the things that you want flashing in.
Let me know if I can help.
Cheers
Corey

this is really cool [while a lot of us are waiting for MiniTab_v0,3] I tested on Ultimate_LS7, many stock apps work nicely, you share a huge thing xperiacle :good: if ianbbaa not releasing MiniTab_v0,3, believe some of us can mix your sharing with v0,2 for their own
hope all of these features together with v0,3 you and ianbbaa will make our incredible NOTE more wonderful :victory:
for those who want a CWM doing MOST steps in the OP, you can use my file as following, a backup before flashing is always recommended, it works on my Note with Ultimate_LS7
BEFORE flashing you need:
1. Make sure you are on rooted deodexed LS7 with CWM recovery. I haven't tried it on odexed one but maybe it will work.
2. Make sure install another launcher like Apex or Nova as a failsafe in case TW Launcher forecloses. I use Android 4.2 launcher.
3. Install Root explorer or Root browser lite or Solid Explorer or anything that can access root folder with R?W and can change permissions. Install build prop editor from the Play Store.
4. Run Build Prop Editor and edit ro.sf.lcd.density to 213. Then add new property: qemu.hw.mainkeys with value 0. Save and reboot.

I had problems with Audio Beats in Advanced Stock ROM for GB before. I think Volum+ didn't work. And PowerAMP was FCing too. So probably it is not compatibile with this.
Success fully tested on I9001/9003/I9000 , I will change drivers to OneX plus ones may problem slaves , please test on other Rom's and tell me

So basically you mixed 2 zips and posted this.
Then why is this in the dev section?
It should be in the general section!

Hey Shaaan , Do you think its easy ??? copy and paste files , then your phone will be fu*cked up !!! And its not two zip , its awesome drivers + motion coding sources (not zip ) + AC!D engine ( - xloud & clearaudio ) . Even you copy and paste this into one zip and merge update-scripts , basically , ( as you say ) then see what happens !
If you say this words you will affront people who make ROMs which has many apps / launchers / sounds ( as you say merging some zips and files ) , You can find this ROM s more than thousand in XDA !
Please respect people works , being recognized dev in XDA needs making kernel / recovery and other + respecting to others , respect to open source rules and etc !
And another thing , you can find similar audio patches in other phones section which are simply copied drivers from other topics with no changes , my work is not same as theme , I replaced some drivers test them until I got good quality , then I zipped and test in lots of phones , You can hear difference of this and other beats audio !

You don't need to teach me what xda stands for. I know it. Even i have broken some rules when i was a newb. But this! Never.
Also, a current discussion is going on about rom cooking and how it should be differentiated from original development!

I don't intend to be rude. But just because you 'tested this' doesn't mean it becomes original development!

Since there is no way to make backup (have recovery) without increasing binary counter (in Jelly Bean),
can someone tell me if this work along with speakerboost (can be downloaded form google play)? (if someone already tried...)
Is it related to the beats installer app from google play? that works, but my system crashes every time when I run speakerboost.
I love beats but speakerboost is essetial to me. but I dunno how to remove either of the beats, and I don't wanna reflash the JB every time. But is it the only way?

If u installed audio beats from market, then that is a reason for crashing. reflash rom, and then should work.

I did a clean flash 3 times already.
You didn't understand the whole thing...
The problem is that speakerboost app make system crash if beats installed. If I use ONLY beats or ONLY speakerboost, everything is stable. I mean the beats app from market works perfectly (ALONE)!
But I want both.
UPDATE: tried on JB, not working "signature verification failed."

On GB BeatsAudio didn't work with PowerAMP to me. In version in Advanced Stock ROM.
2. You can't install custom stuff in stock recovery. You need CWM or TWRP. You have ThunderZap kernel with CWM.
