Thanks for this! Definitely supporting your version as 1) you did it first and 2) seems like you're providing some actual support as opposed to that other thread which is just a ****-show right now.
how can you tell its working if theres no beats logo? you just have to listen?
On some real ****, This + Dsp Manger + Voodoo reminds me of my zune HD which sounds perfect, now my phone is perfect thanks bro. Also if i wanted to remove this how would i?

This is the fix for Audio/Sound on any Jelly Bean ROM on the HP Touchpad
JB needs this file "/system/etc/media_codecs.xml"
This file is missing, but simply copying the file there using Root Explorer or any file explorer with root access works. This does not require a permissions change. The file is not there originally so you won't be overwriting anything. I did this fix on my Atrix 4G and it worked perfectly. It is universal and will work on any Jelly Bean ROM on any device with this issue.
Here is a link to the file:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=1207669&d=1342668760
Steps:
- Extract "media_codecs.xml"
- Copy it to /system/etc/
- Make sure to mount system as R/W (read/write) before pasting the file
- Reboot
- Sound Fixed!

I know about this fix and I know a lot about android but I don't know how git or github works. If you know how that would be great if you could submit it. If you look in the general forum there is a video of JB running and I'm trying to get in contact with the developer that made it (not the OP) this is a really simple fix and can be added to the ROM easily. I'm running JB on my Atrix 4G but not my touchpad I don't have access to a flashable zip for it. If I could get access to one I could confirm this. But I'm sure it will work because there is nothing atrix specific in the file; it is a general file that will work with any device.

Someone is developing one. This will solve the sound issue they have and anyone else who builds one can solve this issue. This will help us get closer to an alpha release.
No there aren't. I believe the OP is just making an intelligent guess to fix sound on the preview by Reverendkjr in the general section

Correct. However it is not an "intelligent guess" I am runing jelly bean on my Motorola Atrix 4G and this solved the problem. The file is not atrix related and is universal. Anyone wanting to put together jelly bean for the touchpad will need this file. On that youtube video with the preview the person who created the rom (jcsullins) says, "Right now, the biggest issue to be addressed is audio (does not work)."
This provides a fix for him and any other person looking to make it work. I am 99% sure this will work but I do not have a flashable zip of jelly bean to try it. If I was provided with one I could test it out and upload a video to show it works.
Thanks for clarifying this
The sound problem could be related to Audio libs and not a XML or whatever the fix is, hope your right though, can't wait to get JB on my touchpad, I'm sure its a matter of days away

I don't know how old the video you refer to is but I'm running a CM10 build on my Kindle Fire for a bit over a week now and that file is present. And of course, I have sound. I would think JC Sullins already has access to that file in the github.
EDIT: A quick search reveals that this has already been pushed to various JB githubs over the last week or two since JB was "released", so I don't think this is a secret. I do like CM10 on my KF, so looking forward to a CM10 release for the TP by JC Sullins & Co...when it's ready.

Yeah man it's great on the Atrix and I'm sure it will be even better on the touchpad! I don't think it is libs though, because the ones used in CM9 would have worked. I'm close to certain it is this xml. However we will have to wait and see, I wish I could get a flashable zip without audio just to get this working.

Good to know, I do wonder though because the developer that made the CM10 ROM for my atrix made it on the 17th he fixed it last night with that file. If jcsullins (the person that created the jelly bean rom without sound for the touchpad) if he built the ROM without acessing that github project then he may have (like the atrix CM10 developer) ran into this problem. Hopefully he will get back to me (I PM'd him earlier today) and we will see what happens.

Thanks, but the issue is more complicated. In CM9, we are using "wrapped" audiolibs from gingerbread. CM10 does not support that (yet).
BTW, I already had the media_codecs.xml file.

I recently applied this tweak to my new HTC Android device and was so impressed I figured I would try it on the TouchPad since it claims to be a universal Android audio engine and guess what? It works! Credit goes especially to docnok63 for the tip and of course the AC!D Audio Engine Team. Great work and very effective. Follow the directions in this forum: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2002367 and make sure to add the lines to your build.prop. This will make the audio on your TouchPad WAY better. Any advice I can provide please ask. This is not my work but since the developers give permission to share and it is so great I feel you are all missing out if you don't give this a try. Thanks AC!D audio! You guys are amazing!!!

Some great reading and advice in docnok63's thread for HTC DNA here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2061651 It might help with the installation a bit. Use the volume keys on your TouchPad to navigate through the options in the Aroma Installer. I used ES File Explorer to edit build.prop and Noozxoide app to tweak my settings. Please be careful and always make backups before touching root files!

Honestly I'm not exactly sure. I do know that once you install the engine if you choose to install Noozxoide you will have access to a bunch of tweaks. Tap the "Build-in Audio Monitor" (I think they are German and mean "Built-in") option and enable everything and max it out and you will notice a huge difference. You should also see a 5 band EQ there that you can adjust to your taste. Please let me know how it works out for you. Also make sure to uninstall any other audio enhancing apps as they may not be compatible. I was using Volume+ app and this MOD package blows it away.
NOTE: Noozxoide will appear as an app after the install, start there.
Gonna give this a shot

Single zip file.
Sent from my cm_tenderloin using Tapatalk 2
I used the Aroma method which is a zip file. I installed it in CM and the Aroma process will start. Using the volume keys to highlight the options you should be able to click your home button to accept your choices. I chose the first two options for "tablet" (I think Universal) skipped Walkman and installed Noozxoide. I'm using latest SGA FnC overclocked 384-1.89. And again I stress MAKE A BACKUP before attempting any mod to your TP. The build.prop addon is easy enough to copy/paste to the end of your build.prop, and make a backup of that before changing it too.

I uninstalled all EQ and DSP apps prior to the AC!D Aroma install per the instructions in this link: http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=2002367 Forgive me if this sounds harsh but make sure you follow the instructions in that link and the Aroma Installer as it guides you through. They specifically tell you to UNINSTALL ALL DSP Managers and EQ apps prior to installing AC!D as they may have conflicts in your file system with competing drivers, etc. I followed the instructions there so I never tested the post install with any other EQ or DSP apps installed.
NOTE: The DSP app may need to be removed using Titanium backup as it appears the SGA ROM's and OAT ROM's have them protected and are a little harder to uninstall (you can't just click "uninstall" like most apps).
After testing things like YouTube, Pandora and Sirius (the music apps I use most) I notice a definite increase in range, quality and volume level. The Google play app I used to play my own SD card (on device) mp4's the difference wasn't as remarkable. I don't know why and haven't had a lot of time to test this on my TP yet, but possibly streaming apps are different then the mp4 files and the music is processed differently hence the better sounding streaming vs. the on device music player. I'll try to test a bit more this week and give us some more TP specific tips and advice as I get can. Anybody else that can chip in advice or results here would be much appreciated. TIA!
No its not harsh at all , I have read the article but still wanted to make sure that you as someone on this forum had removed a system app before installing.
I have Rom Toolbox Pro so removing /backing up won't be a problem .
Thanks for replying .

I added them manually using ES File Explorer app (make sure to enable your ability to write to system files by choosing root options in settings of ES File Explorer app) and I stress MAKE A BACKUP before messing with your build.prop as you might mess something up and system will become unbootable!!!

I had problems with Audio Beats in Advanced Stock ROM for GB before. I think Volum+ didn't work. And PowerAMP was FCing too. So probably it is not compatibile with this.

And its not two zip , its awesome drivers + motion coding sources (not zip ) + AC!D engine ( - xloud & clearaudio ) . Even you copy and paste this into one zip and merge update-scripts , basically , ( as you say ) then see what happens !
If you say this words you will affront people who make ROMs which has many apps / launchers / sounds ( as you say merging some zips and files ) , You can find this ROM s more than thousand in XDA !
Please respect people works , being recognized dev in XDA needs making kernel / recovery and other + respecting to others , respect to open source rules and etc !
And another thing , you can find similar audio patches in other phones section which are simply copied drivers from other topics with no changes , my work is not same as theme , I replaced some drivers test them until I got good quality , then I zipped and test in lots of phones , You can hear difference of this and other beats audio !

You don't need to teach me what xda stands for. I know it. Even i have broken some rules when i was a newb. But this! Never.
Also, a current discussion is going on about rom cooking and how it should be differentiated from original development!

So basically you merged zips..
I don't intend to be rude. But just because you 'tested this' doesn't mean it becomes original development!

Since there is no way to make backup (have recovery) without increasing binary counter (in Jelly Bean),
can someone tell me if this work along with speakerboost (can be downloaded form google play)? (if someone already tried...)
Is it related to the beats installer app from google play? that works, but my system crashes every time when I run speakerboost.
I love beats but speakerboost is essetial to me. but I dunno how to remove either of the beats, and I don't wanna reflash the JB every time. But is it the only way?

If u installed audio beats from market, then that is a reason for crashing. reflash rom, and then should work.

I did a clean flash 3 times already.
You didn't understand the whole thing...
The problem is that speakerboost app make system crash if beats installed. If I use ONLY beats or ONLY speakerboost, everything is stable. I mean the beats app from market works perfectly (ALONE)!
But I want both.
UPDATE: tried on JB, not working "signature verification failed."

On GB BeatsAudio didn't work with PowerAMP to me. In version in Advanced Stock ROM.
2. You can't install custom stuff in stock recovery. You need CWM or TWRP. You have ThunderZap kernel with CWM.
here you go guys found this on my hunt for some UG007 ROMs and thought id share it with you, the website has very little info so i would suggest only experienced user flash this ROM to test and report back!
Must flash with RK Batch Tool (attached)

cool
hi,
I bought a "mk808b".
in the settings it is a "rk30sdk".
still fits the image for me?
thx
RK30sdk relates to it being RK3066 chipset based as are just about all the current dual core tv sticks, unless you are 100% sure about what you are doing do not flash this or any ROM/device

Does not work - won't boot.
it does work.. just takes a round about way to install
the flash.img is a newer build but wont boot.. black screen
the CWM zip is older and will boot but stuck at boot logo
so to install start with a functional ROM
download and flash CWM Recovery from here http://blog.geekbuying.com/index.ph...all-cwm-recovery-on-mk808mk808b/#.UijpSTY3s4c
take the CWM ota zip from the OP, find the install script, and delete the first line with the asserts
copy your modified CWM zip to the internal sdcard on your MK808
use the reboot app to restart to recovery, flash the CWM zip.
restart the device afterwards, and make sure you get the boot logo
take your MK808 and with the batchtool flash the newer flash.img from the OP
after this reconnect to your TV.. on first start it will most likely start in recovery, go ahead and factory reset
reboot and enjoy!
CM10.1 for RK3066 devices
Hi
I just installed CM10.1 Android 4.2.2 on my MK808B and it runs great.
It can work on any Rockchip TV Stick, you just have to install the right kernel for your device then wifi is working. There are also versions for RK3188.
Download link: 'h**p://crewrktablets.arctablet.com/?p=1913'
Some improvements that would be great Maybe a rom developer can do it
1. Bluetooth support - I rekon it doesn't have all the bluetooth folders/files from system from the Rockchip stock roms, maybe this can be included.
2. Resolution - At the moment I can't find a setting to change the resolution eg. 720,1080p, can this be included.
3. The back button on the Mele Flymouse F10 doesn't work, you have to click back on the status bar. Maybe a keyboard layout file is missing.
4. Android keyboard - An Android keyboard doesn't popup, I only managed to use my hardware Mele keyboard for input.
5. Libstagefright Support - The libstagefright.so file from Rockchip. it looks like it's included but H/W+ in Mxplayer is scrambled.
6. Hardware Acceleration - I found one of the tweak apps included can enable it.
7. Developer settings in Settings Menu - This is not enabled at the moment.
8. Language - Change the default language to English instead of German. Can be done through build.prop file.
9. Build prop - Tweak it to improve performance of device.
If a rom developer can improve this rom it will be great, as it's so much better than the stock Rockchip roms.
Feature already included
CWM 6.0.1.5 recovery
- System ext4
- Internal Storage 2,5 GB
- PhabletUI & Multiuser
- Device spoofed as Nexus 7 [v1.2.3]
- Ethernet Support
- Init.d support
- USB-Hub enabled
- Gamepad (PS2, XBox, ...)
- Kernel modules (cifs, tun, lan, serial)
- latest hosts, su, su-binary, busybox
- MX Video-Player, Apollo & FX Sound
- Reboot Menu, CPU Tweaker, Pimp my Rom
- Dateimanager HD (Root)
- Trebuchet & Nova Launcher
Looks nice!
Does it work fine with Netflix? No scrambled videos?
Thanks!
Apparently Netflix Will not work out of the box. I wish someone would contradict me. Seems possible if you take up modding. It is a big drawback that someone in the business could overcome.

Well mine doesn't work but there is a "primewire" of an example that can be found with Google that has all the shows and movies plus more that are just as good with hubi apk. Putlocker and filenuke are best quality. (Added bonus 15 minutes after show goes off it is uploaded)

Beats Audio + xReality + xLoud, all in one single zip.
Contains
Beats Audio modules for authentic sound.
xLoud audio filter which increases clarity at loud volumes.
xReality(Bravia Engine 3) which enhances the display quality.
Requirements
A Jellybean phone, rooted of course. (ICS users may try at their own risk. And GB users may try this only in order to brick their device.)
Taking a backup. (If you don't take a backup and then tell me to help you out, then I'll simply laugh at your face.)
Difference from MOD v2
All the earlier bugs have been fixed.
Beats Audio has been configured so configuring it is no longer required.
Major Improvements. (Courtesy: Newer Modules)
Prerequisites for MOD v1 & MOD v2 Users(Skip this if you haven't used my MOD before)
Please format your phone, to fully enjoy this MOD.
Instructions (Experienced Flashers feel free to skip this)
Grab the MOD from Post #2
Place the .zip file in the root of your SD Card (In simple language don't put it in any folder)
Now go into your Droid's Recovery Mode (If you don't know how to go into recovery mode then search on Google. Different phones have different ways to go into recovery mode)
For CWM Users: Select “install zip from sdcard” and then select “choose zip from sdcard” now select the .zip file
For TWRP Users: Select "Install" and then select the .zip file
Done.
Bugs
Bluetooth Music Streaming might not work.
Might not work on various devices running AOSP based Custom ROMs.
Troubleshooting:
If Xposed Modules fail to work (If you don't know what this is then, just skip this)
Open up "Xposed Installer" then select "Clean Up".
Now reboot.
Open Xposed Installer again and then select "Install/Update".
Now reboot again.
Open up Xposed Installer again and tick the Modules you want to use.
Now reboot once more.
Done, now you can use your Xposed Modules

Can I get Solo zips (For instance, only Beats Audio or only xLoud)

Can I get a Removable zip
Sorry Again I won't be able to provide that. Basically different devices have different files which my MOD overwrites. So in order to create removable zip I must Download each devices's system dump, which is technical impractical. This is the reason why I'm telling you that it is important to take a backup.

XYZ module is not working
It is not necessary that a module will work on our device. Most of the times it doesn't work because your device's hardware won't support Sony or HTC's exclusive modules as it would rely on the hardware too.

MODv4
What's cooking:
APP (Installer)
Backup & Restore
Customise installation (Select desired Modules)
Updated modules (of course)
Note:
ETA: MODv4 will take some time to arrive as the new modules have shown horrible compatibility with other devices. So apparently things are not going so well for the me as Sony and HTC are trying hard not to let their exclusive advancements slip away to other devices.
[EDIT] As of May 7th 2014 the MODv4 development has been discontinued as it is showing poor compatibility

Galaxy S is a pretty old device. So Samsung has given update only till 2.3 . Yes, CM 10.2 is based on 4.3 . But here Port ROM is 4.3 and Base ROM is 2.3 ! So if you have an official Jellybean phone this MOD will work on it.

Old device or not, it has a 10.2 release which is based upon 4.3, and it would appear from his post that he is using it. Are you therefore saying that this mod doesn't work on CM10.2 and anything based upon it?

Take a backup. Then try out.
The MOD has been a failure (from what I know) on CyanogenMod CustomROM running phones. If you have Cyanogen then I suggest not to try out. Although if you take a backup first then no issues should arise incase you want to roll back
