Anything BUT Passion.
I recommend you move up to JellyBean.
The two ROMS I recommend:
-Slim (extremely lightweight with only useful apps)
-HellyBean (updated more frequently and has a bit more features)
you can find both in the dev section
Thanks but which one specifically do you recommend for me?
Sent from my SGH-T959 using xda app-developers app
Let's go with Hellybean
Wonderful dev, great rom.
To be honest, most of the roms for 4.2 JellyBean are quite the same as AOKP, PA etc. haven't came out with their releases yet. Just try Hellybean.
Please check PM and reply me.

It seems your samsung is network locked so you need to unlock it, search the forum and you will find how to get the unlock code.

Sir...What is the best stable rom?
That would be dependent on you, as to what is best for you and your device, as you know just because we have the same device does not mean the same ROM will work, due to apps, usage so on...tbh you will just have read the threads and do some homework and test for yourself.
Thanks & Thread Closed

There is really no rom that is better than another, it's all your personal preference.
I prefer MIUI for the Customization options. You can choose from CyanogenMod 7, CyanogenMod 9, MIUI, Liberty, Vortex.
There are tons of options. I would recommend atleast trying MIUI and Vortex, as they're my two favorites.

Where can I get these roms? Xda? Or rootzwiki?
Sent from my SGH-T959V using xda premium
How about sticking with the good old stock ROM?
Advantages:
Largest user base, and by a very large margin.
No work needed to install it.
Automatic OTA updates by Verizon, even while you sleep.
Full technical support crew at Verizon store or via website; no need to hide your phone from them or play games like SBF before bringing your phone to them.
Most app developers test their apps against this ROM.
If something is really wrong with this ROM, very many people will complain.
Camera, video, HDMI output, Netflix, etc. all work fine.
There definitely are much worse ROMs out there that can cause excessive battery drain, cripple hardware features, cause certain apps to fail, etc.

Don't use Liquid Smooth
CM7 is my personal preference. However, I would advise that you stay away from Liquid Smooth if you are using ClockWork Recovery Mod. I installed Liquid Smooth and attempted to get into recovery, but got into an infinite Motorola Logo. I had to SBF to get out of it.
Go miui 2012.2.1 to try for a first rom and if you like it you will probably never change roms

If you are feeling ICS go for Gummy over on rootzwiki.

Been running as my daily since it came out. Definitely a great rom with very active dev base.

It is beta so couple things but it is definitely daily driver material. IIRC the only remaining issues are BT audio in calls, some hiccups in h/w acceleration, flash, and camcorder/panorama modes of the camera. The dev support is strong for this rom so it's only a matter of time b4 it's 100%. It's also your best bet to have ASOP ICS on your phone.
Hey guys, how are you?
I bought my SGS3 a few month ago. Since than I've been constantly looking for the best ROM.
I want a ROM with very good battery life, and I also want it to run smoothly.
Version 4.1.2 or above.
Also, if a kernel is necessary please tell me which kernel to use.
Thank you very much,
Orel/Xeiss.

What phone did you had before? I've currently a iPhone 4S and I'm looking to get a galaxy s3 because I'm sick of apple -.- was it easy getting used to? I also plan to install a custom rom as my old HTC was rooted
Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Unfortunately best ROM threads are banned on XDA and this will be locked shortly , the reason being a certain ROM might be good for you may not be good for someone else.
All as you will be told is to go and try many different one and see which Is best for you.
Good luck.

I've had a Mini Galaxy before (Not the one that was just released)
I personally prefer Android than iOS. It wasn't really hard to get used to, In 1-3 days you'll become a master
If someone would suggest me to get an iPhone 5 instead of my SGS3, he won't live anymore
Ho watch some YouTube videos and decide. Good luck!
BTW thabka for telling me Motogp1, I'll do it. Moderators, if you can please lock this thread without banning me if would be great, I'm new here and I really don't want to get a ban right off the bed Thanks.
Just another last question, what's the difference between the forums Android Development, and Original Android Development?

I would suggest starting with "Android Development" section for ROMs. Try them and find which suits you best.

You can try Ultima ROM. It looks and feels good.
You may try siyah, perseus, boeffla, galaxsih kernel and suit yourself.
Also look for wanam's deodexed stock roms.
Took me about a week to get used to from iPhone was rooted trying custom roms very easy but figured I didn't need all that so now just on stock 4.1.2 and loving it battery life is great.

Hey there Vibrant users, I have finally gotten used to maintaining the DU rom, so if you guys want any new roms for the Vibrant that you want built, please post them here. I probably won't build any Jellybean roms unless I find them to be exceptionally well done, so try for KitKat roms.
An updated OmniROM would be nice. And I love your DU rom, thanks for that.
DU is actually based off of Omni, so pretty much all the features from Omni are in DU. I think that there are ports available from the Galaxy S dev forums, so you can try those if you want. I might build it if more people request it, but I generally look for ROMs that either have a lot features, or are extremely smooth/fast.
Oh yeah forgot about. There is a lot of ROMs for this phone, the vibrant will never die lol. Don't know if this can happen but maybe build/port the new Samsung touchwiz, I'm no dev just wondering if it can happen.

I don't know if I can find the Touchwiz source, but you can try the various Touchwiz launchers here on XDA.

I am looking for a reliable AOSP rom. im not tryint to start an arguement about who thinks what is better i appreciate all devs and the work they put into their roms. I just am sick of TW and really want to get back to AOSP but with all of the 4.4.2 roms out now their are a lot of issues are there any roms that you guys recommend? (4.3?) Things that i need are MMS and Netflix. Thanks again. And again not wanting to start any arguments.
Everyone has their own opinions and preferences. And each device is different. It's better for you to try it out yourself and find out which one you like. I believe this thread will be lock any time now.

Please - do not compare ROMS on here. I know that you have good intentions but it's against the spirit of XDA. Every dev here is doing their best for free and for learning.
The thing is, that how good ROMS are is a subjective matter. I think you should open the original Android subforum and check the various ROMS. There you can also see if a ROM has bugs or if it's stable and draw your very own conclusion!
I hope this helps!

I know "stable" and "best" when it comes to ROM's are always subjective, but I think it's still fair to ask to get a quick general consensus.
To the OP, I'd go with Madhi or SlimKat personally.

Hello
I need suggestion regarding Rom i want stable Rom with not many apps simple not like stock extra appliation
so will you people suggest me to install which confused too may Roms...
There is no such thing as a "best/most stable/... ROM". Just head over to the dev sections, test a few and then decide for yourself
