Tried with it and without it.
Didn't even mount it in the first place.
Yes.
Edit: Got it rooted by first upgrading it to huawei'ss 'official' ics.

ozgurce the developer says need to replace
the files in the image folder with android 2.2 ones
do u have the android 2.2 backup of the pinkscreen
i hate this official rom and want to go back to 2.2
CAN ANYONE PROVIDE THE ANDROID 2.2 PINKSCREEN
IMAGE FILES? PLZ TRY TO HELP
yes how to downgrade 2.3.5 (28.12.2011 release) to 2.2 ?????
Just flash B138 normally.
After reboot, problably the device will go to recovery mode and throw some errors about block devices. Do a wipe from recovery and reboot.
It looks that some guys succeeded in this downgrade while some others did not. I was one of these who failed.
I read many warnings not to try downgrading to 2.2, but I did it and... phone was bricked. Thankfully, it was replaced under a warranty.

This has been discussed, b522 locks out pink screen...
how did you solve your problems ....
Unlock bootloader. You can find guide by blefish in development section

You have 2 options:
1. Cry
2. Do what I said
I solved it!! installing the version B518 (beta1) and then enter recovery 5.5.0.4!
+ Rom the fantastic AURORA ICS 4.3
Because changing recovery with root explorer is simply too mainstream...
Anyway... you are a genius!!!oneone11!! You flashed stock ROM again, lost root and all data when you could get same effect by simply changing recovery with root explorer and unlocking bootloader with blefishes zip

It's strange that you don't have the pink screen since you upgraded to b518 (which has an unlocked bootloader).
To get CWM:
- install a file manager like ES or Root Browser (if you are not familiar with ES I recommend Root Explorer, because in ES you need to "tick" a bunch of options in order to be able to access/write in the root directory.
-Download a recovery.img file (I use 5.0.2.7 from Genokolar).
-Replace the recovery.img in ".cust_backup/image" (I think that's the name...) with the one you downloaded.
About the pinkscreen, try following this guide: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1457490. What yo're doing is you're flashing the b518 bootloader...which, strangely, you should have...nevertheless try it.

If you actually want to know what are you doing study some of this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/wiki/index.php?title=Motorola_Defy
You need to root your phone before installing 2ndInit (custom recovery). What is rooting should be explained in the wiki page.
1. Donwload this to your computer: http://depositfiles.com/files/n0dcxce3t (pc app for rooting)
2. connect your phone via USB
3. In settings -> Applications -> enable USB debugging.
4. Run the app on your pc with your phone connected.
5. After restart, your phone should be rooted.
5. Win, now you can instal 2ndInit and throught this custom roms.
itz hung in the first stage after clicking the Root. It says 'deamon started successfully'. can someone help?

cm10 24sept is the latest!
if you are looking for stability and gaming go for cm7.2 which is a gingerbread rom, cm9 is icecream sandwich which is unstable and finally we have cm10 jelly bean rom which is quite stable...I'm currently on cm10 because i cant live without the new features of the latest version of android therefore it depends on you...note that games do run on cm10, i have dead trigger and Samurai II: Vengeance which runs great!!

[Q] Got Stuck in installing Roms - Recovery Error

hi everyone
i'm explaining the problem that's getting me crazy!
I've got an a500 tab. it was HoneyComb 3.1 at first, I downloaded ICS 4.0.3 Stock Rom and installed it via SD Card, Power + Vol- button.
i've been using it a few monthes now i want to use a custom rom like tegraowners JB.
my current version of rom (ICS 4.03) can't be rooted with ICS Root for a500 because it's version is'nt supported.
so i decided to install a 3.1 HC Stock rom, root it and use custom roms.
i downloaded 3.1 stock rom, named it update.zip and copied it on a sd card.
inserted SD card in tab and turned it on with Power + Vol-. here is the problem!
first i see recovery mode loading then an android logo with a (!) sign on it.
cdn.gooyait.com/uploads/android-recovery-mode-600x276.jpg
and tab get's restarted...
any idea?
I don't know maybe i've downloaded the wrong rom.
if yes please link to the correct rom for thei version:
Kernel Version:
2.6.39.4+
Image Version:
Acer_AV041_A500_RV21RB01_WW_GEN1
Build Number:
Acer_AV041_A500_0.014.00_WW_GEN1
PLEASE!

Stock recovery probably isn't designed to flash anything other than ICS. (Or it can't go backwards?). As for rooting, the blackthud3r ICS root tool oughta get ya done. (There are 2 methods, search and find one. For your case I recommend number 2)
[Anyway, don't worry about rooting the stock ROM, on an A500 this doesn't help you get jellybean.]<- MAY BE WRONG. In order to install a custom ROM, you must install a custom bootloader and recovery. Here is a guidehttp://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1622425 Once you've gotten through that(and assuming you haven't died of heart attack), you can install a custom ROM. Just follow the instructions on said ROM's thread. My favorite(albeit, a bit buggy) one is here :http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2239476&highlight=jellybean+rom&nocache=1. Good luck!:good:
EDIT:
You need a CPUID to flash your bootloader. I don't know if you need root to get that.
Install a custom bootloader
You shold read about custom bootloader, it isnt that difficult, you get root of your iconia, download a flex software it automaticly downloads the latest recovery I recommend TWRP, and from ther you could touch the option install and select you zip file
