i just sold my nexus 4 online and i need to ship it. i've unlocked the bootloader and rooted it and sold it like so. the buyer wanted it unlocked and rooted. i did a factory reset to clear my settings and files, however when i hooked up the nexus 4 via cable, i noticed that some folders from previous programs and data are still there. i deleted it manually but i'm not sure if there's anything else the factory reset did not get rid off. how do i remove all my previous settings and data for sure 100% while leaving the bootloader unlocked and the phone rooted? is factory reset enough? factory reset don't get rid off bootloader or root right? i noticed it did not but i just want to be sure
thanks

Go into recovery and wipe internal storage. It will delete what you're referring to.

Cleaned that post and all your quotes so please don't stray off anymore and play nice. You have a choice here, answer the question or ignore it but there's no need for justifying a rant.

not defensive, just annoyed. when i post on android central, everyone is cool. when i post the EXACT same topics (copy and pasted) here on this forum, there is always several annoying fanboys who gets defensive when something bad is said about android or a particular device. it doesn't happen on android central but on here it happens every damn post. it's like this forum is filled with them. apple or android, i don't care, fanboys are annoying.
yes i was going to type "not your business" and leave it at that but i didn't because i know some other fanboys will post on this damn thread and make more annoying comments.
i like what i like, it's my personal preference. stop trying to impose your preferences on me. it's none of your business why i sold my nexus 4. his comment implied that he got offended that i don't like the nexus 4. i just asked about how to prepare s nexus 4 for selling without unrooting or -relocking bootloader. that should not warranted questions about why i sold.
Thread closed. This is now a pointless rant thread so useless.

For me, it is really annoying since as I read someone's post, I like to read everything they wrote, and if there is a stupid tag line at the end like that, I end up reading it over, and over, and over, and over, and over, and over, and over, and over again.
So it does do harm, by annoying many users of this site and distracting us from what is important, the post itself.

Sent from my Nexus S using xda app-developers app
Personally, I think that unless you actually have something important and confidential to protect, it really doesn't warrant the use of encryption. It makes things a pain in the arse e.g. updates, some recoveries don't work with encryption etc.
I. Introduction
Hey everybody, I am Euler MD, and I hope to make the most encompassing Guide to Everything. I hope to include everything from "How-To"s to a general FAQ. I will probably be needing quite a bit of time to complete this, but this is my starting point. Thank you for reading, and stay tuned for more.
II. S-OFF
i. If you are reading this section, then you are looking to S-OFF you device, but what does S-OFF mean? With our Android phones, this "S" can be in one of two positions, ON or OFF. The ON or OFF refers to the user's ability to change files in the part of your phone, or partition, where the Operating System is located. If a phone is S-ON, then this means that the end user cannot change anything in the Operating System partition, and vice versa, if a phone is S-OFF, then the end user can change files in the Operating System partition or even install a new Operating System, or ROM.
ii. How To
Coming soon
III. Root
i. For those of us who are new to Android, we always hear of "Rooting," but what is it and what benefits does it bring? In simpler terms, Rooting is the act of giving the user Administrative power over his phone. "Huh? So what does this do?" It allows the user to do all sorts of neat things, like install Clockwork, ROMs, Tether, Modify CPU speeds, and the list goes on and on.
IV. Clockwork Recovery
I'll get more done soon.,,

To know which batch your nexus 7 comes from, you need to look on the box it came in. That is where the serial and model numbers are. For example, mine is a C9O.

Yes, there are changes. Asus has done some hardware revisions from batch to batch. No need to frag the guy. Why he wants this info is really none of our business. Its easy enough just to ignore, or give the answer and move on. Our rude answers make xda look bad. Thats just not right, nor the reflection we should be showing.

You just need to stop. Different revisions can have different issues. Maybe the guy wants to be proactive in knowing what to watch for. Maybe he wants to REGISTER it, which he would need the CXO number for. Maybe he wants to know if it is a model known for missing screen screws, or the one known for loose screen screws. Maybe a model that it helps to use screw washers with. There alot of things to be learmed from your batch number. If you would have taken the time to read and understand those particulars in varying batches, this could have been avoided. Therefore, your statement that nothing has changed except that there is no more 8gb, is wrong, and as a result, not helpful in the least.

This is the q&a section. Q&A is short for questions and answers, hence, he asked a question. That is the point to this whole sub forum. The second part is the answers. Your incorrect info was saying nothing had changed, other than that the 8gb was no longer available. Fact is, things HAVE changed from batch to batch. Informed owners keep up with those things. I would recommend you google nexus 7 hardware revisions, so that next time you might be better equipped to understand the potential reasoning for the question, and not assume greed is at work. Anyone very familiar with the n7 would look at your respones of calling it a stupid question would immediately identify you as uninformed.

Honestly Dark Jedi, if you have no help to offer to the OP, kindly stop posting and keep your common sense. He has the right to ask. How is it any concern of ours why he wants to know ? If I offer you a cookie which smells funny, and should you ask me what the cookie is made of, should I answer your question or go, "Why do you want to know ? What ? If it's not the best ingredients, you want to throw it away ? In that case I'm not telling. Enjoy it". Honestly, don't understand what you have to gain from doing this to the OP.
@OP : Easiest way I could tell the difference between the old and new Nexus 7 was that the new one had 3G capabilites. So just take a look at your statusbar. If you're talking about the wifi only version, I guess the only difference I could think of is the new 32GB of memory storage.

I have an AT&T Samsung Galaxy S4 with MF3. This is how it was purchased and I then (only) rooted it.
Will I keep my root access if I take the now available MK2 OTA update and have enabled the SuperSU Pro OTA Survival mode option before I take the OTA?
With all due respect, I dont want to hear about custom roms, ODIN, or anything else that doesn't apply to my direct question.

You might have accidentally clicked something, point of the matter is its in the wrong section, mistakes happen, a simple "oh sorry didn't realize it!" would have sufficed.
As for your issue, I haven't seen any successful or failed update attempts with OTA survival enabled. If you do loose root, you can always simply re-root the firmware update.
