I was just brainstorming about how to add a vibration motor to the Nexus 7, it's the only thing I like better about the N10. I was looking at the above link but I'm not experienced enough to know where I would hook one up.
It also seems that most vibration motors come as a part of the phone loudspeaker, so I don't know how that would work with the two drivers in the back of the N7. Can anyone shed light on whether this is possible?

So I'm having an issue with the speakers on my Nexus 7, and it's almost definitely not that same one everyone else is experiencing where volume above 50% gets distorted.
On occasion, after waking my N7, what will happen is that whenever it first plays a sound, whether it's music, video, a notification, or the keyboard typing sound, the speakers will just kind of make a quick scratching/crackling sound and completely give out. However, sound will eventually return completely to normal if I A. just continue to use the tablet for a minute or so, B. turn the display off and on, or C. turn the device off completely then reboot it. Outside of this weird issue, audio is completely fine. The tablet is currently unrooted, running the stock ROM.
Any thoughts? I'm really hesitant to RMA this one (I've RMA'd one before due to random creaking issues) because it's in perfect shape otherwise and don't really want to play the N7 lottery again if it's something that can be fixed either by myself or with a future update.
Anyone?
I have the same problem but no fix for you I also just wait it out a few seconds and it fixes itself...
I had problems where my n7's sound would completely cutout on netflix idk if its the app or speaker :/ ?
I have 2 issues with my Nexus 4. The first one seems to be pretty straight forward. The rear speaker is defective and distorts. The second issue I am having just confuses me. I have searched and searched and can't seem to find anyone with this issue. I am honestly not even sure what it is. Some sort of notification sound randomly going off. Check the video to see what I am talking about. Anyone else with this issue?
Just a quick note the phone has never been dropped, ect.
The sound you are hearing is the NFC chime. You have an RFID card in your wallet.
That sound is your N4 reading an NFC chip in one of the cards in your wallet. No idea about your speaker issue, mine doesn't seem to distort but I rarely have it at max volume.
Thanks a bunch. I will turn it off and see if it goes away. Seems strange though since my Galaxy Nexus has never done it.
RMA it
My n7 is my primary on the go music player. I installed power amp and noticed both left and right channels are bleeding into each other. When I go far right I can still hear the left channel. Same thing when I go far left. I really don't want to take this one back because the screen is perfect with no light bleed. My first n7 had bad light bleed.
Anyone else have this sound bleeding issue when using headphones? Thx for the help.
Cheers
So... I think my G2's vibration motor is somewhat damaged. Or maybe it's just hitting something inside the case. I dunno.
Here's a video I made (recorded using my mother's Galaxy Nexus, so quality may not be top notch, but the sound is there, and that's what matters the most). Turn up your volume and listen to the thing. Notice how the vibration sounds... different when I hold the phone differently?!
It's just vertical-wise, I guess. So that time I placed the phone down on a table... yeah, that was stupid, as the sound of the vibration motor wouldn't change, anyway.
What do you think?!
Oh and fyi : I just got this phone like a week ago. Sadly, I ain't got no warranty (shady invoice). Didn't drop it or anything. It's just how it is, out of the box.
I like how the Moto Pure allows you to use MotoVoice up to your ear if you want to be more discrete. Sometimes It's annoying having it speak using the external speakers if you're wanting to ask it something quickly. Is there a way anyone knows of allowing the phone to respond via the ear speaker? It would be awesome if it would use the appropriate speaker based on the proximity sensor. I've searched around but haven't found anything.
Thanks!!!
