I believe work on it has stalled on it unfortunately.
There was supposed to also supposed to be a WM7 emulator/wrapper for it, but that has seemed to fade off the radar as well.

hi guys,
sorry if this is a stupid question, only just found this forum today.
I've seen the HTC desire HD running the new android 2.2 and it looks pretty cool. I've also seen this running on the HTC HD2 on you tube.
My question - who is running android 2.2 on their HD2? Is it stable and worth running? where can I find out how to do this (i.e. like a guide for dummies like me!)
cheers

hi,
There's a section dedicated to Android on the HD2.
Check on the "HD2 Android developpement" forum, everything is explained .

yes goto the android on HD2 section of this forum. it explains it all. you will need to flash a custom rom and depending on the android build a particular radio.
im running the Froyostone V3.1 on a cooked rom. its built from the android HTC Desire build and it works fine for me.
OK proceed with caution!!!
Do not brick your device, do alot of reading first before entering or doing anything to your phone. The first step you will have to do is Hard SPL your device and then for Android to run, you will need to change your Radio, for android to run, you do not need to install a custom rom like many believe.
hi, one question, recently aquired an Htc Legend from Spain and unlocked it because i use a Orange service, and after so many rom`s on this forum, i just prefer ro root it to the official one the one with, posibility for an oficial froyo update, the unbranded untampered out of the htc factory with htc sense, any ideea witch one that might be, i know i`m a newbie at this but i cant seem ti locate it alone using serch
Sorry but what is it that you're asking?
He's asking for the latest official HTC ROM that's unbranded and untampered, as he can't find it through the search function.
is it this?

I believe you are looking for this?
hxxp://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=698421
This is nearly stock, but rooted and unbranded ROM. Not sure if this one gets FOTA though.
seee, this is what i`m talking about isn`t there a clean rom for the legend the one that works 100% as it should not, the rom that comes with the legend that you buy from htc not a service operator, the more i read on each rom people say that this one is for faster web, upgradable but no sense, works perfect but no gps suport, these are the trates of a custom one,
I really apreciate the effort but that isn`t the one i`m looking for, saw that one thow.
If i root my phone will it affect the posibility of an update to Froyo OTA?
Ah, so you want the latest official ROM without rooting?
Well, if you're currently on a firmware lower than 2.03 then go grab the RUU for that ROM on shipped ROMs
Thank-you finally some enlightment
Hi all,
I am absolutely new in this world of Android ROM's and have respect for those guys who are able to make Android work on the HD2 but I have a question.
Is it ever going to be possible to flash an Android ROM on the HTC HD2 so it is permanently installed so overwriting Windows Mobile?
dude... check the sticky:

in short, yes it should be coming soon, but it's possible that it will take some more time for NAND roms (internal memory "install") to be better/faster/more complete than SD
Hi,
Okay, thanks. Would be great when they succeed flashing an Android ROM on the HD2.
Now I got the taste of Android I don't want to go back to Windows. There is so much more possible with Android. Tons of apps and really nice looking and usefull apps.
Hello ! I was wondering it is possible to make a 2.3 ROM for our phone (i8000)? I do not believe is it very difficult, basing my opinion that we have several phones with almost the same hardware as our phone, running android 2.3.
And there is already a project on samdroid about the i5700 spica, able to run even android 4.0. But the most important is that on the same project they have managed to make some 2.3 ROMS for i5700 able to operate everything on the phone. So i was wondering that since they managed to make a fully working 2.3 ROM for a phone only having 2.1 official Samsung ROM, why we can not get this 2.3 ROM, modify it and finally run android 2.3 on out phone?
I tried copy many files of a 2.3 ROM for i5700 and replace the original ones of a CM beta 2 ROM for i8000, but booting fails. i tried to make my own pack under ubuntu and ext4.tar.gz rom file seems to be ok, but phone doesn't want to boot. The problem is i know few about the android system structure, maybe i am replacing the wrong files. And yes i admit i5700 and i8000 same similar hardware but not 100% the same, plus our phone has windows mobile and boot android using haret.
So what you think of android 2.3 on i8000 ? Anyone can help ? According to over 1 million peopIe are interested about this project, so i think it worth. do not know many things about programming, but i can try help this new project on any other way.
wish it is
