[Q] Help my Galaxy Y randomly shut down

I am newbie in android: rooting, flashing rom, etc.
Few days ago I flashed my galaxy y with jellyblast v3, it looks fine, smooth, and sleek but after few days my device randomly restarted itself, mostly when I don't use it (idle state), and after restart there is CPU frills notification in the status bar: "unclean shutdown, value not applied".
Pls, any idea what happened with my device and how to repair it. Any suggestion would be appreciated.
NB: I know i should post this in Jellyblast v3 thread but I can't post there, so pls help me

Have u installed merruks kernel....???and do this-Turn on safety valve option in settings of no frills cpu.....and tell whether ur problem solved...

No, I am using kuro's kernel which is the default package of jellyblast.
Do you mean i need to check the disable sacety valve option or just leave it unchecked (default setting)

Reflash the rom.....better way

Leave it unchecked....and have u installed any tweaks...???
If yes than remove them.....
Or u can reflash ur rom ...

I am newbie in android, I haven't installed any tweaks other than if it includes in jellyblast v3 package. Maybe i just reflash my ROM, but if i do that will all the data wiped out (the application i installed)? because the instruction of flashing the ROM require me to wipe the data. Or is there a way to flash ROM without erasing my application, data, etc.

try titanium backup or Rom toolbar for backing up ur data . . . backup ur contacts on sd card . . . if u hv heard abt CMW , its better for backup bt then it will include that problematic feature again . so titanium & rom toolbox prefferable in ur case . .

Its not reqired to flash a new rom...
Just dont keep ur phn in low frequencies like 156mhz or 208...
Keep it at 312 or above and use smartassv2 ,ondemand,performance as governer....than u will not face this random reboot problem...

nope u can only do it on custom rom
try to flash miui by amal das
(but lot of bugs)
or use any other custom rom

When i installed these app
First it askes to replace ur stock app with it..
when i press install
it indicates installing..... After few seconds it shows unable to install

I think you might need deodexed stock rom but anyways you can push the file directly to the system just go into /system/app and paste it there and change permissions to rw-r--r-- and reboot make sure you keep the original file in case something goes wrong you might also want to do a nandroid backup

You can't actually install it... You have to push it or flash it with a flashable.zip...

I don't think it can work too.... Try flashing any other ROM's systemui... Hyperion or JBV3 perhaps??

plz mention the rom and kernel u instalked...
some roms have got some bugs with these apps...
i can't help u untill u give full info abt what ur prob is...!!

may be prob with ure kernel or rom ..go to stock and flash jbv3 which has kuro kernel the stable one..moreover rom is also stable...i am using it so it is my advice to u to use it....

Please flash a fresh Stock rom
And then Techno Duos 1.5

After flashing stock rom using odin if I take my phone to the shop, will they able to recognise that I had rooted my phone

No they wont..coz u will loose root.
But there are minor possibilities.!

I dont exactly know about it but flashing anything increases flashing counter(which is der in ur cell) so they may come to know.
But there is an app to reset that counter.
And saying thanx isnt enough, press it.!

U hv to reset the custom bin count......go to sir doky's thread or see his signature........he has made a file to reset the custom bin.....

After doing that...
Go to Odin/download mode.. by volume down + power + home button combo..
Then see if your counter is more than 0... if its 0 and saying Samsung official...
Then no problem.. just go to service centers.. they won't be able to discover..
But if it is more than 0 in custom bin counter.. then go to themes & app section in this forum...
And download galaxy toolbox app made by doky73 to reset counter.. and it works.. don't worry... I have done it too..

After reset... it still won't show Samsung official... for that just flash a firmware update from Odin... and you are good to go..

I think ur camera is damaged go asap to service center
ROM EVOLUTION X3
KERNEL HELL FUSION

before going to service center reset bin counter and unroot it

I had this problem before... I got rid of it by flashing stock and then a deodexed stock... or try flashing some custom rooms back to back...( Odin it of course! )

Try clearing the sys partition and flash a deodexed stock. This actually did the job for me.

Like TeeJay I also had this problem temporary and all of a sudden the camera got to work again but I xan't remember if I changed anything so it's definitely not dead permanently, just try the tips the others gave you and see if it will get solved, always put service center as the last option.

Try to wipe data and cache and re-install kernel...
It is surely a driver problem
Ps:Before that please check with custom camera app other than stock camera like try camzoomfx etc

Also Try to connect phone to pc and start logcat and monitor your phone logs.Now start camera app.This Error should occur and immediately view your logcat log.
There should be some pretty red lines there copy it and pm me that log.
Ps:Try that in case my above method does not work

Don't do ext4 thingy cz I never did that... did u clear everything?? ( except SD ) and did u mount??
Try restoring the sys/ part from a nandroid backup...
Even in custom roms it doesn't work?? ( don't think it would.. )

*u sure its nt the rom bug u are talking abt
* is it happening in every rom u flash

I am trying to root my phone but unable to do that. I have flashed update.zip file 4-5 times but can't see superuser installed in my phone...plz someone help me to root my phone..thanks in advance.

Are you got the correct update.zip file for your phone...???
Here is many update.zip files are available.Download it from XDA sgy development or Q&A section...by your phone model name.

I have downloaded the file from the given link n flashed first from cwm as u suggested but nothing happen...then I tried to flash directly from recovery mode but still no superuser in stalled...after flashing it says install from sd card complete..whats the exact problem...plz help me. First download unroot.zip and then install zip via stock recovery,and then try to install update.zip:thumbup:

Super user will be in ur apps in the phone after u reboot....not in the cwm!

make sure you mount system in cwm before you flash the zip
flash a temp cwm if your kernel doesnt have cwm
goto mounts and storage
mount system
install zip from sd
select your root zip
restart

tried it...when i entered in mounts/storage it shows unmount system...that means it is already mounted..then i flashed the file but still not succeded in rooting my phone..!! plz help me guyz

I'm using these file root.zip , and I flash it through stock recovery galaxy y S5360 my mine!! The result works well

tried all the attached files by u guyz but still not able to root. Flashed Aroma Multi root installer but the process is not like the screen shots shown on that forum...plz help me guyz...I also attached my About Phone SS..check that if there is any problem in it..

U facing this problem coz ,in first time u flashed worng file , try to unroot by flashing this http://db.tt/vVKBBRpn and then flash this http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=1621554&d=1357478494 if ur problem is not solved then u have to flash stock rom and then try to root again

tried this process also..but unsuccessful...can u plz provide me the link about flashing a new stock rom??

is there any other way than flashing a new stock rom for rooting?? coz i saw lots of users posting that they bricked there phone while performing this process..I dont want to harm my gakaxy y...plz suggest me any other way plzzz...I also tried Aroma Multi root installer..after flashing it says Congratulations!! ur device is rooted..Enjoy..but still I dont have root access...plz help me

Bro Odin is safest way to install stock rom , dont worry just flash stock rom via odin n then try to root again

which firmware should I flash?? Latest one or the old one??
