Did you tried different versions? Which type of installation you're trying to do? (with a new number, titanium back up, etc..)?
I can upload the version that i've succeed to install, if you want to give a try

Have you tried this guide ?

I also had trouble with whatsapp on my N7, Titanium backup worked for me. (Uninstall whatsapp from the phone before you install it on your N7!)

I used TI backup to take a data backup from working whatsapp plus on my phone, and transplanted it over, and eventually managed to get whatsapp plus working on my nexus. I can't really give a guide though because i just screwed about with it until it worked. Sorry.
I also used an app called appguard, to remove the permission for whatsapp plus to read the phone model info. If you Google 'whatsapp appguard nexus 7' you'll find instructions for that part.

How to remove root (un-root) device without clearing apps and data?

I have an app that refuses to run because my Nexus 7 is rooted. So I would like to remove root and keep this app installed.
Sent from my Nexus 7 using xda app-developers app
Not tried it my self but on SuperSU Play description it says that if you uninstall it, you will lose root:
NOTICE: A SPECIAL PROCEDURE IS NEEDED FOR UNINSTALLATION. IF YOU DO NOT LIKE THE APP, DO *NOT* JUST UNINSTALL IT, YOU *WILL* LOSE ROOT.
I would guess that if you have Super User installed, it would do the same thing.
I tried the "temp unroot" function of the superuser app and the app still recognized the root and refused to run.
I will try un-installing superuser now. Thanks for the idea, I will report back.
Sent from my Nexus 7 using xda app-developers app
Some applications I believe look for the superuser application by name. So if it sees "superuser.apk" on the system it won't run. However, I know some in the past were able to be worked around by renaming the superuser application.
I don't know if this is still a valid method, but...yeah.

Try an app called OTA Root Keeper (voodoo). It will temp unroot. You then need to normally force close the app you are talking about and the run it and it should work.
When you are done if you use a lot of root apps you can the undo the temp unroot and be back to full root.
Some versions of su have that ability now too but I've not tried them yet... don't really have anything that cares if I am rooted any more.

I've tried using the temp-unroot feature of the superuser app and I was not able to do so. I wish I knew what this app was looking for.
Sent from my Nexus 7 using xda app-developers app
Download supermanager from playstore, enable the root function in settings. Swipe over to tge next screen and select uninstall apps and uninstall superuser. Then reboot. That should do ut.

What app is it?
Sent from my Nexus 7
The app is called Jeppesen Mobile TC and you will only be able to download it if you have a 9-10 inch tab with honeycomb or ICS running. I managed to get the apk so if someone wants it to try please let me know.
I will try the above shortly. Many thanks!

I just tried this and it seems to have removed root like you said yet the application still thinks I have root. I un-installed the app and reinstalled it after rebooting.
The app runs fine on my gfs Nexus 7 which has never been rooted.
Hmmmmm

can't install FLASH on 4.1.1 ?

Just bought our 2 nexus 7 tablets today....We want to root them but haven't yet. I was trying to update the FLASH to the latest as one of my websites and one game wanted me to do that. I was taken to the google paly and there was a message that the lastest FLASH can NOT be installed on this device and I read that it is NOT support for OS over Ice Cream 4.0? Can some one tell me what I can do? Do I have to root to do this?
Thanks

No, you don't have to root to install flash. You have to download the apk and install it, that's all.

I did root my nexus 7 and I did install flash by sideloading...but I get a blue box sometimes and other times I get the message that I need to upgrade flash...I used Dolphin HD browser on the nextus and chrome and the same thing happens in both.
Somewhere I read something about renaming two files...don't remember where I read that or what two file. I do know I didn't do it because 1. I wasn't able at the time to find the files 2. it didn't say what to rename them????
Any suggestions on what I have to do...my nexus 7 is now updated to 4.1.2
Thanks
Tried this doesn't work either...

Try this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=33537009&postcount=20
Works fine for me, Stock, rooted, unlocked boot loader, Franco kernel.
Maybe you have a defective phone?
You haven't frozen anything in Titanium Backup or uninstalled anything?

This phone can't be defective.... Everything works as it should exempting hulu. I tried it on stock and on xylon and aokp..there's something missing and it has to do with DRM. Will look at the link two post above and report back

If you download from the link using your prime use chrome browser. Stock browser didnt work for me.
There is an update in the play store after this. Do not install it or you will be back to not working.

WhatsApp on my nexus 7

Hello everyone, I know there are thousands of these WhatsApp topics out here. I tried almost every possible method to get it to work. I want to install WhatsApp on bluestacks and back it up with titanium backup. The WhatsApp installation on bluestacks is fine, but I can't get the program to be rooted. I tried it with instructions from another topic on XDA. I followed every step from the guide but it isn't rooted. Reinstalling doesn't work either...

Yes. Root checker also says I don't have root.
I used pre rooted files I found on this forum, just copied them to the blue stacks android folder. Do I have to do something else after copying root.fs and initrd.img (or something)?

how to update whatsapp on already installed whatsapp

Hi guys i was using whatsapp on nexus 7 by the help of xda forum
But today whatsapp got expired becoz of old version and telling me to update
Now is there any way i can update my whatsapp without going for same long method
And dont wana loose the messages
Well i thought to give a try and the method worked for me
1 i took backup of expired app using titanium backup
2 now i restored my original app using Srt App Guard
3 downloaded and installed whatsapp
4 after installation i ran Srt app guard to secure the app
5 after securing app using app guard disabled read phone status
6 now i restored the "Data" only using titanium backup
And now the app working like charm
You just have to get the latest apk of whatsapp and install it.
Doesn't whatsapp have the option to update itself without playstore?
