Strange galaxy I9100- made in korea - Galaxy S II General

for the first time i met such GT-I9100 i can't say SGS2 because every thing looks the same but slightly bigger than the well known SGS2 international and the software of the phone is also totally different of that of the International SGS2 .
I attached the images of the stranger , every who knows can tell us what is it ( the stranger)

Looks no different to my s2 from what I can see in the photos except for the wording tflash on the back.

If it is same as yours, then , what firmware version you are using now? this uses V 4.1 GB

Is this some fake Chinese sgs2? I know for a fact that there exist fake iPhones which are very similar to the original iPhone. Also the the name of the apps in drawer are not what they are in Samsung phones be it it any model.

"Camcoder" instead of "Camera", "Main menu" instead of "Apps", "Version" instead of "Android version" seems fishy... Definitely FAKE!

This is the charging speed
Gesendet von meinem GT-I9100 mit Tapatalk 2

looks....................taller....and cheap.

It's a fake, here's why:
1. T-flash at back
2. 1000mAh on back
3. App: 'Camcorder', should be Camera; 'WLAN' should be 'Allshare'
4. Strangely large home button.
5. MOBIL PHONE rather than MOBILE PHONE
6. Wrong looking MicroSD slot.
7. Should be 'MADE IN CHINA BY SAMSUNG', not made in Korea, and it should be South Korea.
8. IMEI numbers should be seperated by a forward slash (/)
9. There should be a space between S/N and the colon )

Also seems lcd screen, not amoled.
Sent from my GT-I9100 using xda app-developers app

its fake due what has been said above and also the external antenna on the back is missing for samsung testing purposes,
those Chinese phones with mediatek cpu are getting better at looking like the real thing, I've seen those fake samsung s3 and they use lcd screens instead of amoled, and also a dual core.when you go to info like the OP did you can tell its not real.

Dude,
There's actually any difference between them. Don't get worked up.
It still remains the best phone of 2011.
Just enjoy it and have fun.
thank you krazykat and ram3n
this mobile coming from france and i like it just a little effect of cigarette in cover
Isn't everything made in China, give it ten years and China will probably take over the earth, probably rename the planet to porcelain utter butty and be done with it.

The one made in Korea is....well, made in Korea. The one in China, upon closer examination probably claims to have an 8000 gigapixel camera, an antenna that extends from the bottom, runs win98 "mobile", freezes when you check the date, doesn't say Samsung but rather "Sunnisang", claims a battery life of roughly 499 years (depending on the usage of the said camera) and the only available wallpaper has something to do with Hello kitty. Just sayin!

Disply quality Vietnam vs China/Korea

Hi,
I have 2 SGS2, one made in Korea/finished China, second one made in Vietnam. I must admit difference in quality is noticeable, especially in display department:
On the left side (made in Vietnam), on the right side (finished in China). Please see attached picture.
my sgs2 made in china by samsung . big difference
I have one assembled in argentine, what I noticed it has different brightness profiles than european when both are with xxki3 modem. I solved this issue installing aroki1 modem (2.3.4)
Enviado desde mi GT-I9100 usando Tapatalk
Are those on full brightness?
Mine is made in Vietnam and doesn't look anywhere near as bad as yours, I'd personally exchange it for another one.
Have you checked http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1241590 ?
I get similar differences with the different gamma modes. Maybe that will sort out your problem.
mine is vietnam aswell , product code XEF ( France ) and the display quality is nothing compared to your vietnam product. it must be a screen malfunction.
Those are just screen differences, there are three different screens used, Supercurio has illustrated this
I'm from Vietnam and I can confirm that some, only some of our S2 have this problem. There are comparisons on lots of forums about it. I recommend you exchanging to a different one if it bugs you that much.

Are you using stock firmware?
It's said that the color/color temperature might be wrong if you use a firmware whose CSC not matching your phone's original CSC.

Well I've seen this thread, thnx., but in accordance with production rules strict standards should be applied, thus no difference to be noticeable for any sgs2 unit despite origin country.

In addition I've got for the second time defective camera module SCEF02, heavy video stuttering. I'll upload video as well later on today. Display definitely gonna exchange, but for a camera module is gonna be tricky, 'cause i've been adviced it's not for sure what camera module will be delivered. The 1st SGS2 with camera module OEMF01 has oustanding video quality, no stuttering at all.
Please advice if anyone has different camera module in Vietnam version not SCE... one?!

Galaxy Note teared into pieces

If you're interested in what your Note looks in the inside, here is a blog entry I found on gsmarena:
http://blog.gsmarena.com/samsung-tears-the-galaxy-note-to-pieces-saves-ifixit-the-effort/#more-26181
The teardown shows that the note has NFC hardware built into it...it just requires the proper software and drivers to enable it.

It also says:

which is pretty meaningless! 16/32gb perhaps, but this and the obvious home button does make me question whether this is the AT&T version at all - more likely it is the LTE version available in Korea!

DAve
The picture and their statement in the blog is 2 different things..they are showing interntnal device, but taking about us note?????
Sent from my GT-N7000 using XDA App
The article in itself is quite contradictory coz it talks about the international note and shows some other version.. here you can read d lines—
'Samsung has provided detailed descriptions of all the important Galaxy Note functional elements. You should keep in mind that what we have here is the US version of the Note, featuring a Qualcomm chipset and LTE, instead of Exynos and HSPA+.'
The above lines means that the device should be the international Note.

Terrible reporting on gsmarena...
Check out the original article guys, it's much clearer:
http://global.samsungtomorrow.com/?p=10571#disqus_thread
Edit: Okay not that much better... I'm still not clear as to whether that's the American model or International one or the original images for the international one with the american specs added.... :s

South Korea version has different design

im really loving the south Korean design.
Will The south Korean version work On AT&T U.S?

I go with the suggestion in the article that it's a bad Photoshop job. Besides the screen being unrealistically larger, look how close the top sensor is to the display which would be physically impossible to manufacture. If it were real I'd take the Korean mock-up in blue without question.
That looks like some bad photoshop work.
Haha that's for sure Photoshop. Notice exact same battery levels and also blurry graphics.

Completely FAKE.
If you look at the Korean version, the left side of the dandelion is fragmented because all they did was copy a sliver of the image and move it over to fill the extra space. Rookie photoshop job.
It would be funny if that is the Galaxy Note II

Someone push the s4 on me?

Hi I have the iPhone 5 with iOS 7.
I completely hate it.
I'm stuck between the s4 and the htc one.
played with both today the s4 seems kinda "plasticy" and the htc one reminds me of the iphone build and the htc one in black is hawt.
why should i buy the s4 over the htc one?
i plan to root / custom rom the s4 once an exploit is found.
thnx
If you drop the S4, it bounces. The One will dent and put pressure on the screen and buttons if dropped causing more possible damage. I suggest a case for either one. The S4 has a larger more vibrant screen. A 13 megapixel camera vs the Ones 4 mp camera. Yes they say ultra pixel but it just takes pics with bigger pixels. Its a load of crap if you ask me.

Same dilemma I had. Chose S4 easily tho because SD card support is high on my list of must-haves.
The need for this new device was due to frying the last phone and not being to access the built-in memory at all after. Altho nothing I cared for was lost since everything was on an SD card.
