Hello folks.
I'm currently on Aokp 4.2.2 unofficial with Francos r90 Kernel, bootloader and Radio are both updated. I'm suffering from massive battery draining. I guess something isnt letting my CPU sleep properly, as i always get messages like "100% awake while screen off" from battery stats plus. I'm just getting up to 2 hours screen on time, and battery is falling by about ~7% / hour With normal usage (whatsapp, News, xda) and like 15 Minuten screen on time in that hour. Also, see the attached Images. I sometimes have wakelocks by audioOut_2 and as you can See, maps is using more battery than the Display itself.
On an additional Note, GPS is always off, im using Taster to locate, but with cell near only.
Would be very Kind to help me out of this issues, thank you a bunch!

Turn off Location Services for a little bit to see if that helps.
You should try a program like autostarts, and don't allow things to run unless explicitly started by yourself. This way it'll help identify if there is an misbehaving program.
I saw you were using franco r90 which could be an issue. Try going back to the last stable
I think you will like this application.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/...GwsMSwxLDMsImNvbS5vYXNpc2ZlbmcuZ3JlZW5pZnkiXQ..
This simple application will make your annoying applications to go to sleep. Therefore your phone can finally go to sleep like it should when it's not in use. I see that Google maps seems to be the culprit in your battery drain. You can use titanium backup and delete it and install it back again from the play store. After that you can use the application that I've given you and force it to go tot sleep.
Here's the forum for the application:

Thanks for your reply. Yeah im already thinking about flashing matr1x or trinity Kernels. How much screen on time Do you get with matr1x?
I reinstalled maps, greenified maps and facebook. Updated to Franco 92. Already getting better results with greenified maps, but i get following wakelocks:
"pm8921_eoc", "msm_otg" and AudioOut_2 and still notifications from bbs: 100% awake.
Apps running are: astrid, avast, Francos updater, Rom toolbox, Tasker

Does anyone have some knowledge about How to identify why Android OS is consuming so much battery Life? While screen off some process is waking up the Device, up to 1.5 GHz.

I also have MASSIVE draining issues. Took my phone off charge around 9am this morning... 1hr screen time... 8% battery left and its only 13:45 Pacific time...
Latest Faux running in dual core ECO MODE underclocked to 1.3Ghz with Stock 4.2.2,,,, still get ****ty ass battery life...

Do you see any wakelocks using the better battery stats app? Which apps are running?

Coming from the iphone 4, good battery life is the most important thing i miss. I need a rock solid reliable phone or else would have started to mess around a read about Kernels to see how they may help with better battery life. My iPhone would last me 3-4 days of general use. To me General use is very light use..! With nexus it lasts max 1-2 days but more importantly i need to be concious what the battery level is. With th eiphone i never really bothered as i knoew i would get at least 2 days if not more.

Still got audioOut_2 wakelock. Except that onr, everything is fine After Kernel update, greenifying and disabling Autostarts

back many years ago (3 to 4 years) on my Xperia mini pro, i had to have a apps that kill background apps to save memory for foreground apps. now thats a thing of the past, android versions now can manage memory better...well yes, but not power...apparently if you leave some apps running on background it still consumes power on my note2 until you kill it.
i have a game "4 pics 1 word" which i think doesnt know how to properly "exit" that i left on background, 6 hours later my 100% battery came down to 52% because of AudioOut_2 partial wakelocks according to BetterBattery. Ive recharged my phone and restarted it, 6 hours later my battery is still 82%. thats 30% different because of an app that dont know how to sleep (insomnia apps).
so yeah, be careful of some apps that you leave on background, some of them dont know how to sleep.

I'm using DeepSleep Battery Saver. Great app works perfectly on my phone for several weeks now. Greatly increased battery life since it kills any unwanted app when putting the device in sleep mode.
Sv: And I thought killing apps on android is a thing of the past.
Even the xda premium app doesn't sleep properly.
Sent from my GT-N7100 using xda premium
Just use LBE security manager or some other app that can stop apps from autostarting and those apps will not run in the background anymore.
Note that LBE security manager is very comprehensive and might help with privacy and ads as well as some other things. Also download the en version from xda instead of the poorly translated version from the market.

Even I sometimes don't sleep properly. Just kidding... I noticed it too; XDA Premium and other apps sometimes drain battery due to partial wakelocks :-/ I don't understand how this can still be such a huge issue on a mobile operating system.......

It isn't an issue with the operating system - the issue is with poorly written apps!
There is always going to be a certain class of app that does need to keep the phone from sleeping quite legitimately, and you don't want the OS killing these off. Apps like XDA Premium really have very little reason to consume many CPU cycles when not active, so the fact it keeps the phone awake is the fault of the app and not the OS, because it can't determine if the wakelocks are legitimate (former class of app), or just as a result of poor coding (latter class of app).
Regards,
Dave
Uninstall 4in1 it has some nasty spam. Like opening a link in Chrome may make an advert open and then open the play store to one of their other apps.
Uninstall it.

The AudioOut_2 wakelock has something to do with alarms and silent mode, something I've never managed to remedy completely on the note 2. If you play a game or watch a video in silent mode, the wakelock will sometimes appear.
On topic, by far the best method to calm down nasty apps, is the app greenify here on xda and play store. If you read the first post of that thread, many of the answers to why android apps behave like this are there.

(Q) Is this normal ? Im having serious battery drain from wakelock after freezing gtalkservice and more using System Tuner app . There are few ScreenShots for more details . SOMEBODY HELP ME PLEASE .
Sent from my GT-I9500 using xda premium
I would start by undoing the changes you did with system tuner. Looks like whatever you did has screwed you gsf.
The other wakelocks like wlan and audio out look normal. Audio out is just any sound played by the phone and for me it includes sounds while the phone is in use as well. Don't know why it shows as a wakelock but it does.
I prefer to just disable the apps I don't want in settings / application manager combined with greenify. Use things like bbs / wakelock detector / gsam to find out what else is using battery after that. From what I know gsg / google talk wakelocks still occur even after disabling the app but really that wakelock uses very little battery anyway. Our it should.
Another biggie for me was to to turn off network location in location settings. I only leave gps on.

Great stuff! I usually keep away from battery saving apps but greenify is different. It is one brilliant app and has absolutely reduced my wakelocks. Once the screen goes off it just puts stuff to sleep. Much better than freezing them.
But stuff like Talk and Google+ I have disabled from settings / application manager. Couldn't be happier with my battery life now.

There will always still be some wakelocks but as you can see, I can live with 19 seconds in half a day.
That's on my S3 4g with 91% battery left. On my S4 the wakelock is 29 seconds after 13 hours with 19% battery usage and 52 minutes of screen on time.

That wakelock is there even if you freeze hangouts or talk. It is really only an issue if it's s big wakelock. If it's like the one in my screen shot then you have no problem.

Hi, I need help to figure out why I'm getting so more much awake time than screen on time.
According to the partial wake lock stats audioout_2 is the one that keeps waking up my phone... Tho the time running is not very high so I'm a little confuse here...
Is anything else I'm missing here??
Thanks
PD sorry for my bad English

hi..
Audio out 2 is the touch/screenlock sounds.
try disable and monitor it in BBS again in few hours' time.
Playing music will cause AudioOut_2 wakelock.
I get it when using any music player.
Hi, I already have touchscreen wakelock sound disabled.
Using wakelock detector, I found Facebook app is draining a lot of battery, but I'm not sure If that's the app that causes the audioout_2 wakelock.
I downloaded greenify , so I'll try add the app there.
Thanks

whatsapp is another wakelock culprit preventing yr device to deep sleep..
what I would suggest to u is to unchecked sync contacts in whatsapp setting.
that would minimise the wakelocks if u still intend to use it.
so does exchange mail service..
maybe try to change refresh intervals to 4 hours and monitor it from there.
nlp collector is caused by location is being turned on in yr device settings.
turn location to off if u want it to go away.
and after 4 hours, post a dump file from BBS here again, mate.
other things to look at BBS is the high number of counts on each services running in the partial wakelocks.
besides these, there are more..

Hey all,
Just switched over to hellscore from faux to see if it had any impact on my battery, but it doesn't appear to. I'm currently on the latest PA nightly and using Aviate. I think part of the issue is Skype not closing properly, but I've lost 8% battery in 1 1/2 hours with only 10 minutes of SOT. Please see screen shots below.
